Default Issues upgrading from 1.3.5 to 1.3.7...

Having issues upgrading my zen-cart. I have winmerged the old /cart files with the new so all of my templates should be right. I then uploaded my new upgrade to my server. Now i have they new files in cart/zenupgrade1.3.7xxxxxx/ i then goto cart/zenupgrade1.3.7xxxxxxx/zc_install.. I then get errors saying there is no configure.php files in two spots.. check and there is twofiles.. italso says a bunch of files need to be CHMOD to 777 which they are.. still won't let me install.. It also says "warning you are not in upgrade mode" how do i get to just upgrade mode? I thought the full download of 1.3.7 actomaticly switched to the upgrade mode?

    Thanks

Also i have all the files in seperate locations... Do i first upload all the new files into the old then run the installer?

    For instales i have

    /cart
    [Within cart
    admin
    includes
    images
    etc
    zencartfullfile1.3.7]
    [ within zencartfullfile1.3.7 is the new admin/includes/images/etc.. ]

do i need to move all the admin files and whatnot to the original files and delete them THEN run the update?

It sounds as though you have kept your new files separate from your old files. If so, this isn't how it should be done and won't work. The new files are copied into the same directories as the old ones and over-write them. Your changes are protected provided you have put the files you changed into their correct over-ride locations.

For an upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.3.7, the time required shouldn't be very long, provided the cart hasn't been extensively customized. For somebody who knows what they're doing, and couple of hours wouldn't be unreasonable (though employing somebody for a job that small might be difficult).
