    Default Define Pages Editor Problems

Attempting to get rid of "Congratulations you have successfully installed your Zen Cart.........Welcome guest.......Main page sample text

This section of text blah blah blah...delete if from the Define page editor.

But when I make the change and click on save nothing happens. I go back and look at the Define page editor and it has returned to it's original state of before I changed it.

Any clue....cause I have none, zip, nada.

Well, that wiped out everything on the page and gave me a fatal error. Plus it does not say anything about the Defining Pages part.

I put it back the way it was. Any other ideas?

"Congratulations you have successfully installed your Zen Cart" is not defined by the define pages editor.

You need to follow the instructions in the tutorials "to the letter" to get shot of, or change the message.

The "Welcome Guest" part is defined somewhere else but there is also a tutorial to remove/change it in the same section of this website.

    Main Page Sample Text ...

This section of text is from the Define Pages Editor located under Tools in the Admin.

To remove this section of the text, delete it from the Define Pages Editor.
Only that part is changeable using Admin > Tools > Define Pages

I have tried this part in the Admin > Tools > Define Pages- it is not working, always reverts back to it's original wording.
I will try removing the other again and see what happens.

Any success? Having the same issue, not saving the text even if all looks to be working otherwise.
I may be blond but at least I found Zen.

Could you check that the permissions on:
    /includes/languages/english/html_includes/your_template_dir/*.*

are set to 777 so that you can customize these files in your Zen Cart Admin?
