Swap Images via MouseOver or Click

This package is intended to be used either as a framework for an alternate product-type or as a modification to the standard "product" product-type. Once activated, it can be used to enable javascript image-swaps via a common onMouseOver or onClick event, the most appropriate likely being the onMouseOver. Now your customers can simply hover their mouse over your "extra" product images and see the preview LIVE right on your product detail page, without having to click to see an enlarged version. It will display medium (if found) or regular-sized (small) images based on what you have previously uploaded to your server's images folder according to normal Zen Cart v1.2.x procedures. In the onMouseOver mode, it will also allow clicking to bring up a popup window with the "large" version displayed ... so that prior functionality is still retained. Of course, popup options are disabled if you have selected "onClick" as the mode for this module to operate in. The module also takes the "noscript" feature into full consideration, so that customers who have their browsers set to disable JavaScript will not encounter errors or unpleasant display. Instead, images will display properly, and popups are converted to launching a new browser page containing the appropriate image. |

To be compatible with v1.3.8, I have replaced "$products_image_extention" with "$products_image_extension" in "/includes/modules/YOURTEMPLATE/additional_images.php". This contribution now correctly finds and loads medium image files. The older version will be required for older versions of Zen Cart. |
