Overview

Adds a configurable block to the storefront footer: a row of social-media icons, a link to your blog, and an optional newsletter signup. Twenty networks, each icon hidden until you supply a link — and you enter only the distinguishing part of your address (YourPageName), not the whole URL. The contact icon needs no entry at all. Blog and newsletter wording is built from your store name, so there is nothing to type. The newsletter uses double opt-in, with neither mail format pre-selected. Subscribers without a customer account are reachable from the Newsletter Manager, and the admin page adds CSV import, a printable sign-up sheet, and an option to invite subscribers to register. No template file is edited or overridden, and nothing is added to your admin/ or includes/ directories. The master switch is off on a fresh install, so nothing appears until you are ready. Runs on Zen Cart v1.5.8 through v3.0.0 and PHP 7.4 through 8.5 from a single codebase, verified against all six release branches.

    15 Sep 2026 · Compatible with 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.0, 3.0.0 Release by dbltoe · 40 downloads · 166.6 KB ZIP

    ## v1.0.3 One markup change and nothing else. If v1.0.1 is running smoothly, nothing will look different after this upgrade. **Changed** - The two footer headings (the icon heading and the newsletter heading) are now `<h2>` instead of `<h3>`. The footer is a section of the page, so its headings belong one level under the page's `<h1>`. As `<h3>`, they skipped a level on any page whose last heading before the footer was the `<h1>` itself, typically a shopping cart or contact page, and accessibility checkers flagged it on every such page. Their size comes from `.scf-heading` in the stylesheet, not from the tag, so they render exactly as before. Found with Axe-Core and Siteimprove. **Also since v1.0.1** (v1.0.2 was documentation only and was not posted here) - The changelog and `docs/COMPATIBILITY.md` described a red banner in the Plugin Manager info panel that never existed; the only "off" indicator is the *Mod Not Turned On* suffix on the plugin name. The contrast notes now describe the reds that are actually used. - A code comment said `NOTIFY_FOOTER_AFTER_NAVSUPP` arrived in v2.2.0; it is present from v2.1.0. Which notifiers the plugin observes have not changed. - The LICENSE file no longer cites the retired `zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt` URL. **Upgrading** Upload `zc_plugins/SocialContactFooter/v1.0.3/` into your store's `zc_plugins/` folder and use Modules > Plugin Manager. Your settings and your subscriber table are kept. Still Zen Cart v1.5.8 through v3.0.0 and PHP 7.4 through 8.5 from one codebase.
