Custom Form Field and Email Validation

Hi, is there an easy way to add a custom form field to the checkout form where a user has to fill in how they found the site before it is submitted for an order. Does the new version have an easy way to add custom form fields and then parse the field to the email set during validation. I'm trying to make it so a user has to check or indicate how they found the site before the order can be submitted and for that field to be added to the email sent when an order is placed. Any help is appreciated. :D

I have the database tables. Are the templates pretty straight forward in how data is parsed from the checkout form to the database, and from the database to the email? I guess I can use the other form elements as samples and replace the elements dealing with the database tables. I guess there is no real automated solution in the new zen-cart version. :lamo:

I have the same needs - to add a couple of simple text fields with custom questions for informational purposes - to the checkout form for an order (not by product and not by customer account).

I saw several threads pointing to a mod done for adding customer fields but that is not my desire and from the sound of the instructions and posts I am kind of wary of using that module anyway.

Has anyone seen a module or fairly achievable way to accomplish this?

Thanks for the link, looks like it would work perfect. Will try to install it tomorrow. I was thinking about using the countries drop down as a sample to edit the templates, but it looks like the 'how did you hear about us' mod is perfect. Thanks!: :clap:

Does it allow the values to be included in the email template?
Can I make it a 'required' field?

I use the latest version of zen-cart so it looks like it will install and work on 1.3.8 :blink:
