CEON URI Mapping - Site Performance Issues

We are using version 1.3.8a with PHP 5.2.17 and MySql 5.1.55.

We have Ceon Uri module installed, and like the format very much, but have been having perfomance issues and recently found an association with the Ceon url's.

Basically, we added a new category structure which did not have Ceon applied to the URL's, and noticed that it was moving extremely fast. We thought the performance problem was solved, but as soon as we started moving the URL's to the Ceon format, we went straight back to the poor performance.

Site is www.diaticmedical.com. All of the main level categories have a Ceon Url, but only the first two sets of subcategories have been moved over to Ceon (Aids to Daily Living, and Ambulatory Products). You can see the distinct performance difference when navigating in the first two categories, as compared to the remaining categories. Note - this is only a problem when navigating between categories. The product pages load with decent performace time in most cases.

Has anyone seen this problem before, or have any recommendations on what can be done to fix it.

Like it or not my suggestion is to not use ANY url re mapping

And Ceon URI Mapping version what?

Massive speed enhancements were made in 3.6.3.

3.8.0 is the latest release.
