Which godaddy.com hosting plan will work best for zen-cart?
I am planning on installing and using zen-cart 1.3.9h.
Here are 2 questions:
1) I am planning on using godaddy.com hosting and their SSL as well... and I would like to know which godaddy.com
4GH hosting plan from http://www.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting.aspx with work with zen-cart 1.3.9h?
2) Those 4gh plans above don't include Java... do I need a webhosting plan from godaddy.com that runs Java,
to use zen-cart 1.3.9h on the admin and for my shoppers there plans are at: http://www.godaddy.com/hosting/hosting.aspx
I just want to make sure I get the right hosting plan that will run all functions of the latest version of zen-cart 1.3.9h !

Godaddy Linux economy hosting for 4.99 /mo is fine.
use the app installer in the control panel (thay will set the curl proxy right)
if you need more space or more bandwidth they will upgrade you with no hassle to you
call them they are very helpful.
BTW when you will get more traffic (you will just hang in there) you should move to a dedicated or CDN hosting.
No java is needed for zencart :)
Re: Which godaddy.com hosting plan will work best for zen-cart 1.3.9h?
The general opinion of people hosted with GoDaddy seems to be that they are great for buying cheap domains from, but not good at hosting - but even that depends upon what you are trying to host.

Judging by the number of complaints about GoDaddy and Zen Cart hosting on these forums they are best avoided - as are all cheap "Bucket Hosting" companies.
But, at the end of the day, it's your call.

In over 6 years of hanging around here, eVelt is the first Zenner I've ever seen have anything positive to say about GoDaddy and Zencart. You'll be doing yourself a huge favor if you ignore their marketing and select a better host.

Add to that, if you are hosted on Godaddy and ever have an issue and post it on here. You are less likely to find help because most of the issues are server related.
People have have better luck with Certified Hosts found in the link in top of this page. HostMonster (BlueHost) have coupons online that will give you their hosting package for around $5.

wow I really stirred up a rake didn't I?
I have made at least 45 successful eCommerce websites.
I can say now that i don't use GoDaddy anymore for various reasons like speed or bandwidth, up-time etc.
but for a business start up they are better then fine and they won't break your wallet.
other sheared hosting I've tried have no better service and most of the time they are really slow.
:)

My host gives excellent uptime and support, $4 a month for the basic package, which is more than enough for a Zencart startup. It's important, I think, not to be influenced by advertising when selecting a host (though Danica Patrick is a babe), but check out the multitude of rating sites on the Web.

Thank you for all of your answers.
It's my first experience with zen-cart and I have heard only good things about Zen-Cart.
Beleive me, it was not my intention to promote godaddy's services as I would rather work with a company that is used to working with the fine developers and experts this forum recommends.
I already have an SSL and hosting with godaddy and now I am gonna see what I am gonna do...
Thank you again for all of your help!
