hi i just installed the "Advise to friend" sidebox, but it doesn't seem to show.
when i go to admin, box layout controller, the first time it found the new side sidebox, i enabled it and put it on the right....
but it doesn't show. I have enabled the "tell a friend" feature in zen-cart default, and also guest are allowed...
Anyone have any experience with this ?
I personnaly would advise against doing this. That is a great big open invitation to spammers to use your site to send out much unwanted spam emails.

we thought about it, but still want to go with it... but we don't put a link on the website.
In the order email we will put a direct link on our website where the Advise-a-friend module would be.
And still, we won't allow guests to send mails, have to login.
but then again, the module doesn't work, doesnt show
I am having the same problem. I just added the Advise a Friend addon module, and the sidebox doesn't show. I went back over the steps to make sure I didn't miss anything. I installed EXACTLY as the instructions indicated. It's in my Toolbox and I've turned it on, but it just doesn't show up on the page. I've seen others on the forum with this problem. Has anyone had luck with this addon?

There is no "Advise to Friend" mod in Free Addons; there are three different "Tell a Friend" mods. Are you using one of these? Which one, or where did you get it from?
They are all old and may not work with Zen Cart v1.5 (definitely not if they have admin components). The Tell a Friend feature was completely removed from Zen Cart for v1.5.0 as it is a security risk, so if those mods depend on the stock functions they cannot work.

I wanted to use it to allow people to tell their friends about the website in general and not just about a particular product.
