v 1.5.7 and PHP8 Question
Hello, I've got a question about ZC support on PHP8.
I read in the 2020 Recap thread that DrByte wrote "(A v1.5.7c is in the works to also support PHP 8.0 better.)" (my emphasis)
Does this mean that 1.5.7b does now work on PHP8, but will be optimized in some way(s) for PHP8? Thus, I can switch to PHP8 on my hoster if I want?
Or, does Z-C not work at all on PHP8, yet?
Thanks!
Re: v 1.5.7 and PHP8 Question
v157b does work on PHP 8, but will trigger some warnings/errors in the logs. While they're mostly benign, they can be alarming/confusing.
v157c (not yet released as of today, (no ETA yet), but all the code is open on github) has applied a number of updates to avoid triggering those.
Re: v 1.5.7 and PHP8 Question
Thanks very much, Doc! Not pushing for "c" . . . "b" just came out. I'll keep that in mind should I want to give PHP8 a try. Thanks so much for Z-C.
