search_header.php appearing twice?
Hi everyone!
I surely have an easy one here but I've searched like mad and could find a way to fix this by myself.
As shown in the screenshot below, the search header is duplicated in the right column of my site. Could someone give me a clue on how to remove the second apparition of this box?

Please help me! Thanks!
Re: search_header.php appearing twice?
From Admin->Tools->Layout Boxes Controller there are 2 "search" related "sideboxes".
sideboxes/search_header.php
sideboxes/search.php
My guess is that you turned LEFT/RIGHT column status ON for sideboxes/search_header.php. Turn it OFF and that should solve your problem.
Re: search_header.php appearing twice?
Awesome! That solved my problem! Thanks a lot for your help lib99!
Are there any other blocks that can be added in the header using the single column function?
Can I use the same if for example I'd like to add the manufacturer dropdown to the header? Or at least, is there a way to get to do this by adding code to the header template?
Thanks again!
Re: search_header.php appearing twice?
AFAIK that is the only one that works for the header. You can of course always create a "sidebox" header using code from default templates as your reference. :smile:
Re: search_header.php appearing twice?
Hey thanks again for your quick answer!
I'll try to do what you're suggesting with dropdowns like manufacturers or record companies and if everything works fine I'll make sure to post my codes here!
I just can't wait to go live with my store, I tried osC with little satisfaction but Zen Cart is totally awesome!
Re: search_header.php appearing twice?
if using sideboxes/search.php, how can i disable "advanced search"?
looking at the code for tpl_search.php i see it establish but not sure what to do to disable it or if this is the right approach. the code looks like this...
// $Id: tpl_search.php 277 2004-09-10 23:03:52Z wilt $
//
$content = "";
$content .= zen_draw_form('quick_find', zen_href_link(FILENAME_ADVANCED_SEARCH_RESULT, '', 'NONSSL', false), 'get');
$content .= zen_draw_hidden_field('main_page',FILENAME_ADVANCED_SEARCH_RESULT);
$content .= zen_draw_hidden_field('search_in_description', '1');
$content .= '<div align="center">' . zen_draw_input_field('keyword', '', 'size="18" maxlength="100" style="width: ' . ($column_width-30) . 'px"') . '<br /><input type="submit" value="' . HEADER_SEARCH_BUTTON . '" style="width: 50px" /><br /><a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ADVANCED_SEARCH) . '">' . BOX_SEARCH_ADVANCED_SEARCH . '</a>';
$content .= "</div></form>";
?>
i tried a couple things but i dont really know my php and they did not get the proper results.
