HELP for upgrade from 1.2.5 to 1.3.7

hi,
i'd like to upgrade my old version 1.2.5 to the last one, and since i do not have any skills in php, i'm afraid to make mistakes and lose all my data.
Furthermore, i've added options months ago, i will never remember.
Does anybody could help me in doing this upgrade, or in knowing somebody able to do it in France

If you carefully follow the instructions in the docs folder - and I mean, carefully; do everything EXACTLY as the development team recommend, then you should be able to manage.

However, the really big issue is that the whole template structure has changed from table based to CSS; if I was doing this, I'd build a new 1.3.7 cart alongside the old one, and then switching over when ready.

The instructions aren't available in French as far as I know, but someone may have translated them and be willing to send them to you.

Since the structure of ZC has changed, you'll lose any mods you made. If you do the upgrade correctly, you won't lose any data.

As Ryk pointed out, your best option is to set up a separate installation of 1.3.7 with its own database. Export your current database and import it into the 1.3.7 test cart (this will give you data to test with). Work on the look of your site in 1.3.7 (I'd leave the mods until later, but some people prefer to do them first). When you're satisfied, download the 1.3.7 cart to your local drive and take the live cart down for maintenance. Upload the 1.3.7 cart to the live site and run zc_install to upgrade the database only. Once that's done, you should be good to go with your live site.

I did that to bring the site in my sig from 1.2.7 to 1.3.7 and didn't lose any data. After the upgrade, I added the mods I needed from the newest versions in the download section.
