Product Qty Maximum set to 1 but...

Someone managed to order 2 of them!

I offer a free sample product and limit it to 1 per person. I've "sold" a few hundred of these so far with no issues, but today, someone managed to put 2 of them in the cart. I have Product Qty Max set to 1.

I tried putting 2 in the cart but couldn't do it. This free sample kit has 5 attributes, and this person managed to put 1 in a cart with 1 set of options, and another one with whole other options. The items appear on separate lines in Admin, Order Confirmation, etc.

I even state on the product page that the limit is 1 per person. It's more of an annoyance than anything else since she just wants my Free Stuff. But it bugs me that I can't figure out how she did it!
