Yes you just will not receive any e-commerce data meaning you will not see how much you make per conversion from what source and so forth...this data is quit useful for tracking your advertising and seeing what works for you and what does not. In my opinion you will be missing some key info without tracking your sales.

But yes you can do basic tracking with just pasting the code in your template

I installed your download, seems to be working great. Thanks for the help.

Analytics doesn't appear to be tracking more than general visits, I guess I'll have to learn how to set up goals and such.

If you are looking for ecommerce tracking you must turn it on in google analytics...that might be what you are looking for

How did you put the code on every page? Was it on configuration or tools?

This thread is for a mod called simple google analytics which will put the code on all your pages. Just download, test, and then upload to your servre.

I have a funny situation, please help with your advice:

On one of my ZC sites the mod behaves just like it's supposed to, no problems there.
On another one, it seems to be working, however, the Configuration menu in the Admin console does not show up the "Google Analytics Configuration" option.
The DB is fine: the configuration_group and the configuration tables contain proper values for the mod to be shown on the menu.
Desperate, I set the Analytics configuration by hand and they are fine.
Again the mod works, that's not the issue.

What bothers me is why the Configuration menu refuses to show the Google Analytics Conf option.

Any ideas?

what version are your two carts?

The one that's misbehaving - 1.2.5
php - 4.4.6.

It was not too hard to make the mod work on the old version.
..Other than the Configuration menu, of course.

I can live with it like this but the restless mind wants to know why?...

I don't think it has to do with the mod itself.

out of curiosity is the site you do have it working on in the 1.3.x series? I have not tested it on 1.2.5
