Re: Product Attribute Grid
Long time reader - first time poster...
Would like to thank Absolute for this contribution! I've read other messages indicating that this functionality would be very hard to implement - was surprised to find this contribution. It works great.
Does anyone know if it should be working with quantity discounts?
I think I have quantity discounts set up correctly - but when I add to cart it doesn't seem to discount the items, even if the same size.
Any ideas?

Thanks!
Re: Product Attribute Grid
POSTED
I am not sure if this is the right thread, but I am totally lost as to how to set up Attributes, options names, option values.
I don't know if I need this grid -
will this work for what I need or am I in the wrong zone?
First of all, I am selling art. It doesn't quite fit as though I were selling nuts and bolts.
I don't know what is what!
Which one is the is the Option Name-
Which one is the is the Option Value - and
Which one is the is the Attribute???
I am confused!
When a client clicks on the image, I want them to have a choice of everything in which that this image is available.
Example:
I posted the chart, examples, and notes:
http://www.artsales.net/_asn/samples/pricechart_3.html
I will give the details of each edition and each product in the description area, and then want a chart under it where they make their selections.
For each art image, I assign it an image#
I want to show all the available editions this artwork is available in.... Let us say one image is available in four editions:
Premier, First, Limited, & CanTree.
Each edition FOR THIS IMAGE is a different size. -
PREMIER Edition: 45x32
FIRST Edition: 34x24
LIMITED Edition: 26x18.5
CanTree Charity Edition: 21x15
and the image comes in other products, (such a note cards). see my online example at the link above. (I did overkill here, but wanted to show all the possibilities that one image could be available in.)
Each one of the Editions is available in either an Artist Proof or a Print. Each has separate prices.
However, in some cases the in the editions I offer there are no Artist Proofs, just prints.
In addition, the Premier edition is not always 45x32
And the First edition is not always 34x24 etc, etc,
So how do I program this?
What is considered the Attributes, options names, option values
with this scenario
Yes, I read the guide- I still do not know how to convert the example Zen gives of "color and size XL L M sm" to suit my art products.
If ANYONE can make sense of this and help me out, I'd appreciate it. I just installed the latest version of Zen- on 4/12/09 and have everything up and running for the most part and am now stumped as to how to set this up so I can upload product.
 ???
Thanks april_may
Re: Product Attribute Grid
OK- I worked on this and finally figured out I do NOT need the attributes grid. I listed the editions as option values- and had to list the Limited edition AP and P's separately. All other info I put into the description-
Sorry to have interupted this thread.

That was (my) user error. I didn't have it set up properly in the admin section - quantity discounts works great!
Thanks again Absolute for this great extension.

The solution to the problem you are looking to solve has been created already however! We have it running on a couple of our sites. If you want a pointer in the right direction, you would need to update your cart action script to add the items to cart with attributes, and then on your product listing page, show all the product attributes with speific field names.
It can be done, but requires a little PHP knowledge.

Thanks for the pointer Absolute! I am learning PHP right now
Re: Product Attribute Grid
Well, thanks to john_dude, v1.1.1 of this module will be released within the next few days.
The new release addresses the following issues and fixes:
- New OPTION TYPE created in admin, so you can now specify GRID when select radio, select boxes, text etc
- Module designed to work with Stock by Attribute module, with no updating to scripting required.
- Grid can now be used in conjunction with additional options, such as a checkbox or text field
- You can now setup 1 or 2 GRID type options. If only 1 GRID type option is created, the grid automatically defaults to showing the QTY field as the additional axis
The module is BETA testing now, and as long as everything goes smoothly, the new release should be here by the end of the week.
Development of these modules is only really possible due to the support of other members, and my thanks go to john_dude for his!

Re: Product Attribute Grid
Can't wait to see the updated module :) That auto Qty will be interesting to see and should make things easier for a lot of people :)
Re: Product Attribute Grid
The new module has been released, and we are currently waiting for it to be approved before it can be found in the downloads section. The module will appear here: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=876
Looking forward to some feedback!

Re: Product Attribute Grid
Its now in the download section and I will be loading it into my store very soon! If it is as straightforward as the last version it would be rather quick and easy to get up and going. I'll let you know how i find it :)
Re: Product Attribute Grid
I have just loaded it up and it works fine :) looks different because there is no actual grid around the attributes like the previous version but hey I like it better.
I had to add some details in the css to align the option name txt to the center but was not able to work out how to make the attribute quantity boxes wider. Any help would be appreciated:)
