Easy Populate 1.2.5.4 support

Alright - I feel like an idiot. I've looked through all of this information and also AWEV's information. I need/would like to add and upload category to EP free for the product's cost. I have the profit calculator module installed and would like to use EP to populate the DB. I've tried a number of times but can't seem to get it to work. Has anyone done this or can anyone assist me with it? The table is the products table and the field is products_cost.

Please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place. It appears that ALL Easy Populate questions go in this one thread. So I don't mean to hijack, but that seems to be the M.O.

Is it possible to specify the downloadable file associated with a product via Easy Populate? I've looked through all the csv files Easy Poplulate will download for me and I don't see it. I have 650 mp3 products/files, and if they have to be done one by one I may just have to assume a fetal position for a while.

If this is part of the paid version only, I would definitely upgrade.

As this is my first post, I should have started out by saying thanks very much for Easy Populate. It would be unthinkable for me to be able to start my store without it. Seems like it should be integrated functionality, IMHO.

Please Help ! Imam new at ZenCart and totaly new at web sites. I got a data base from my vendor he uses the same version of Zencart I do I have version 3.03 advanced of easy populate and everytime I try to upload to zencart I get this error I am having problems with easy populate when I try to import the file to populate my website I get the following error(s)
SKIPPED! - Product Index: "8320 "- No existing category provided for this new product .
it is the same for all 567 products. I created a catagory for each section to match the website that provided the file and even made all the sort numbers match to the other website. Would someone that knows whats going on please help me thanks,:blush: ken carter

I've uploaded about 1300 products to the DB using EP, but I just realized that I don't have product SIZE options in EP or in Zen Cart itself.

How can I integrate product Sizes in Zen Cart, and can I upload product sizes by EP ?

goldencountry - It sounds as if your .txt file has not got the right format of 'tabs' just upload one product to see if you get the same message if so check your file format, if you are using the advance version also try the authors forum as this version does work slightly different to 1.2.5.4. (Edit BTW only upload approx. 500 max products at once EP is very happy with this number any more it gets a little upset !)

I get this error:
Error: Category has Products!

after using EP. The funny thing is nothing is in the category when I go there.

Any idea how to correct this problem?

Another one. My prices uploaded end up being after tax instead of price of the product before tax.

Any ideas? Did an admin switch get changed? I do upload the goods with the field v_tax_class_title = Taxable Goods.

Should I now use this field?

I found my own answer. There IS an admin switch in 1.2.5.4 under Configuration->Easy Populate->Upload/Download Prices Include Tax = false

This means that the price of the product uploaded is a pre-tax price. Hope this helps someone else. I could not find the answer directly anywhere else in the forum.
