Stock by Attributes 5.0 Beta (for v1.5.0)

I seem to have a similar issue with creinold's SbA module. I cannot get the SbA module *not* to detect textboxes, radios, checkboxes etc. It touches them all and turns them into drop downs then adds on quantities to them. It's driving me batty on how to tell it not to detect those.

Anybody have any luck with it?

Short answer.. Nope otherwise someone would have posted it or created/submitted yet ANOTHER SBA version.. Personally I recommended that my client's pay for a developer to create a working version of SBA that includes the ability to exclude certain attribute names from the stock variants. That's just what they did. I hired a developer on their behalf, and now that's JUST what they have.. Something that at LEAST works. No sequenced dropdowns, but at least they now have a fully functional working model..

It's just interesting that the SbA worked great before 1.5. Amazing what some changes can do to a module. But, for now I can squeak by it. I only need the textboxes for gift cards. Customers can put their information/requests into the comments area during checkout. So for now, I can get around it. If I get rather adventurous, I can spend time building a table and php to do what I need.

Nope you are not using it incorrectly.. If you look back in this thread I posted the results of my testing of this particular SBA variant (there are SEVERAL variants of this module). I will continue to say that the last FULLY FUNCTIONAL version of SBA was v4.7 by Kuroi.. Everything release else after v4.7 has attempted to improve upon this version and IMHO each one has only added features that do not function as well as intended.. I was really hoping this particular version would work for me, but sadly it did not.. **sigh**

On another note (and at the risk of slightly hijacking this thread) if you are interested in another take on SBA, I would look up the any of the CEON modules, and find the author's user profile.. Go to his website.. It looks like he is developing some kind of SBA module of his own.. It looks like he took the ground up approach in building his module (creating something NEW versus putting lipstick on a pig:laugh:) Given Conor's general penchant and reputation for building kick assed Zen Cart modules, I have NO DOUBT that if he is building an SBA module is it worth a looksee..

Hi, I have creinold_SBA5.0_alpha_version1.5 installed on 1.5 and seems to be working fine on my test side. I have 2 attribute for my clothing, color and size. When my size said 40 is out of stock, the dropdown will show only size 38 and 42 , size 40 will not be available for selection, that's very good. But for the color attribute, when my blue color is out of stock for all the sizes, it still show in the color dropdown, how can I configure so that it will not show in the dropdown? Thank you.

I just installed this in a 1.5 new install and it's brilliant. Works perfectly and is easy. I am using it to track number of stock for different sizes of shirts.

Thank you to the developer!! BTW, for those finding this thread and seeing my post, the most recent files are on page 8 of this thread and were last updated in March 12 2012.

Look at the post just before yours... it says the most recent files are on "page 8" (March 12, 2012).

and you might want to read through the last 5 or so pages of this thread before installing.. this version isn't without it's share of issues.. your mileage may vary..

I am using this without problems, but I only have one drop down attribute group per product ie size / colour eg 12DD Black

If I used size and then colour as two drop down attribute groups, it may be another story.
