Did anybody find a solution to the product attribute problem?
Products in the shopping cart that contain attributes display an incorrect url in the shopping cart.
The url appears as:
-p-{id}:{attribute_string}
When it should appear as:
{item_name}-p-{id}:{attribute_string}
Dreamscape said he fixed this but he never released the code.

As far as your old indexed pages, if they are standard Zen Cart urls you will not lose anything as long as the new mod gives a 301 redirect, the ranking will be passed to the new seo urls. If you have used seo url mod in the past then you need to redirect those url back to Zen Cart original in other to retain the benefit of those links.
Hi there. I have installed seo.urls (the latest version on the downloads page) and am running zen cart 1.3.7.
Everything seems to run fine. But before i installed it i read through these pages and pages on the forum about seo.urls about various problems, that i can't seem to see.
Am i correct to assume that all the following bugs have been fixed?
1. 404 error page (seems to work for me?)
2. 301 redirect from my old indexed pages to my new seo url pages... seems to work, they redirect but im not sure if its a 301.
3. Paypal ipn seems to be there.
Is there any bugs or mods i need to know about that are current, its a lot of pages to search through!

Hi there i have a bug i have found with seo url.
If i refresh my browser and view my site for the first time, when i click on a product i get the product url with
?zenid=a7f5833dfb32595db6c190ce78f0866d
added to the end.
then if i click the product url i get the same (obviously) product page.
Meaning i have duplicate urls and google will penalize my site...
One url that is the product url and one with that stuff on the end...
Any ideas??

Extra edit: I have just tested and its when i remove my store's cookie i get these duplicate urls.

coud anyone tell me if hey have this issue: a product type music, when displayed in product music info display, is switched back to product general (we lose the display of the artist, record company, etc... )

Even though I paid a good amount of donation for this contribution, I am only interested in the best - I have had heaps of problems with this url rewrite.
I have now installed the following ultimate seo url's, and it has worked out of the box - no issues at all!!!!
Yes, it is based on the chemo work, but ultimately - for me at least, it actually works.
I was using that one too, but I needed the music products to rewrite too, and that one does not do it out of the box. I think there were some other issues with that one as well. Even if you added it manually in the config, it still left a dynamic link.
Actually my product music URL rewrites the product as general. I had to edit the product genral template to display my "music genre" info (which I use for something else than music-related information)Quote:

I would recommended testing it out on a site you don't need to be up and running or one that you don't have to worry about Google ranking and see if you can get it working there first. I need the version that works with zencart 1.37. I tried installing the "2005-07-22 – Version 2.100 released" and the instructions tell you to go to line 355 in includes/application_top.php and my file only had 133 lines of code. Slight mismatch, so I assume this is an older version. I have gone through the forum but havent found a newer version except for the beta version 3

but as far as i know, this is the number to tell the core or the mechanism in the site about the core URL, its taken from the core code, or the number of the product itself, i don't know if you can change it with the product name that will be more complex but still you have to check out with Chemo...

the only thin that i'm thinking about is that i noticed one difference between my settings and other's settings which they had it working on their site
is that i used the database method to store the information while he used FILE instead of it, this option you can find it in the configuration file.
despite that DrByte said that it doesn't matter, that is the only difference i found!
what do you think about it guys?

I am trying to get this working on my hardwoodcanes.com website, and I followed the instructions exactly the way I did on my other site, and "Seo Urls 3.0.0-beta1" is not showing up on my configuration tab in the admin. I've deleted my browser cache, tried to reinstall, double checked my html_output.php file.... I cant figure out what's causing it to just not show up.
Any ideas?
I guess I just needed to give it time. It's showing now. However, whenever I enable the mod, the only page that will load is a site index with a 404 error, and if I click any product, I get "No input file specified." It is correctly translating the url though! I guess that's good. The settings are set the same as my other site... only difference is one site is being hosted on camelot (the site that works) and the other site is being hosted by go daddy ( the one that don't work ).

Okay, I am ready to uninstall this again as it doesn't support apostrophe in product name when performing a search. I tried disabling seo for advanced_search and advanced_search_result but it doesn't work.

I have a problem to display our national characters like 'č,ž,ě,í,á,ň' and so on in urls - Latin Accents & Ligatures. There is a fine described in PDF's manual but there's no defined in file (latin_acc_lig.php). :(
I'd like to structure my urls like this - shop/hardware/mice/IntelliMouse.html
Is it possible with chemo's 3.0.0 ?

Managed to sort my problem with the index page not displaying but all other pages working. (on the last page). :D
added this line to the .htaccess file before the seo rules:-

Just in case anyone else has the same problem.
Here is my experience:
2.105 - installed fine, everthing works, I get SEO URLs for all categories, products & info pages. All cart, search, email work fine. Only problems: Currencies sidebox - "index.php" is stripped from the URL. I can handle old URLs for Currencies, but not broken ones. News & Articles have old URLs.
3.0.0 Beta 1(with or without patches) - cannot access any categories, products etc. URL I ended up with is e.g. "www.mydomain.com\?cPath=29" & "www.mydomain.com\?products_id=82". And for info pages I get "www.mydomain.com" for all.
At the moment I'm going to go back to 2.105 as I can't see what I have done wrong with the 3.0.0 install. I will need to find a fix for Currencies side box URLs, that's critical. Would be nice to also fix News & Artcles URLs as well.
I seem to be having problems logging in.
It takes a few attempts. could SEO URL be the problem? I noticed on my stats that people have been viewing multiple pages but not signing up which made me look into it.

JohneeMac - Your problem is to do with the inclusion of a ZenId in the redirection URL once you login. When you login, if the URL includes the zenid, you receive the "welcome guest" greeting. https://www.houseofmulben.com/farmSh...=xxxxxxxxxxxxx
If you remove the zenid, you login perfectly. What are your recreate session settings in the admin?

Finally I email the owner of that program and he offer me to install it, less then 5 minute it was all done , and wow it is cool it look perfect you can check it out on my web site just add the /storedemo
I got a question in regard to this , when I will install it on my live store , I do have many links ( the old version) from other publication and all over, will it not make Google see it as duplicate links?
There is anything I should be careful before I install it on my live store?

For some reason when I activate the ULTIMATE SEO URLS I get an error on some of the links that appear on my "Shopping Cart" sidebox for some reason when I click them from there they go to the index page instead the product page, it doesnt happen with all of the products just with some,something that I noticed is that the links that are different on the "Shopping Cart" box are the ones with the problems for example:
The Linking:
It won't work with the following URL on the "Shopping Cart" box:
/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5:540 7046bc1400d78c5501f2679e5dd77
It will work if I click the same product from the "New Products" section but the link looks different:
/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5
On another item that is on the shopping cart box that have the URL:
/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3
the problem wont happen there, I guess it has something to do with the URL.
Of course if I turn off SEO URLS everything start working perferct again.
My Zen Cart is the 1.37.1

Doodlebuckets - you need to rename the original function "zen_href_link" to "original_zen_href_link".
You can then add the new zen_href_link as a replacement, and everythnig should then just tick along as it was designed to.
Flashback - can you provide a URL to your store? None of the links you provided are SEO URLs, which possible means that you have missed a point in the setup process. If you can post a link, we can take a look.

I'm having the exact same problem. It's not that it's "just some pages", but rather it's RANDOM pages. Sometimes it goes to the right link, sometimes it just redirects back to the home page. This has been going on for sometime now, and I'm sick of it. I'm assuming it has something to do with this particular mod too. My store is: http://www.soy-wax-candles.com/store/

There's also another .htacess file in the public_html folder that doesn't have rewrite rules for the shopping cart, but it does for other things. I also seem to have one in the root that seems to have everything. Could this be what's causing the problem?Quote:

Hi all,
Just installed the ZEN cart for a customer, but I have got a problem with this contrib.
I installed the latest version of the Zen cart as well as the latest version I could find for the Ultimate URL's contrib.
The problem I have is, that when I turn the contrib on in the admin seciton, and the test it in the shop section the status bar in the bottom of the browser goes all the way to the end, but then the page hangs, meaning it does not go any further, and the product I clicked on does not show up, the staus bar just keeps on being at the end without going any further.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

FlashBack - you need to complete the installation in order to solve your problem. There is one part which you appear to have missed, and without checking your code, this is an educated guess.
In the includes/functions/html_output.php file, find the zen_href_link function, and rename it to original_zen_href_link. You then need to copy the new function from the install guide, or the packaged files, depending on your download version.
This will then ensure that the actual links are created as SEO links, rather than standard links which are redirecting when they are clicked.

I think I finally got it, I did not upload all the files, see the installation package comes with 2 folders one general and another one for 1.37, I only upload the 1.37 one, on the general folder there is product.php and category.php that probably were causing all this, after I upload it I had to re-upload the .HTACCES file and reset the SEO from admin.

I hve installed the latest version of ZC with the Seo Urls 3.0.0-beta1 version. It works for all links EXCEPT the manufacturers drop down box. (which I have changed to say Artists)

The only trouble with Magic Seo Urls is that they force you to have a link back to their website on your main page.
They should point it out before anybody purchases it. The only way you can get rid of it is to hide with css which incurrs a hidden links penalty. Never known a commercial application that forces you to have a link like this.
I moved away from 2.105 because I was having problems and have adopted version 3 (beta) of SEO URLs with a series of modifications downloaded from JD Productions' web site. All seems fine, but two things consistently break my store:1) currencies drop-down in the LH side boxand2) Google translations from the LH side boxIf I disable the SEO mod the currencies box works fine, but the Google translation is still broken. (BTW: I experienced the same problem with either version of the mod)
I would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light as to why either or both of these doesn't work?

I have just installed this seo url mod again and I have this problem
If I activate the mod, as soon as I go in to the categories of the shop, the browser seems to hang up.
The bottom status bar (on the browser) goes to the end and then hangs up.
Also for the main category, and the pages like contact us etc. it does not give a url at all, it just stays at www.guitaristbackingtracks.com
When I de-activate the mod, everything is working just fine again.
I installed everything according to the guide, and the settings in the admin are as follows:
Status: ON
redirection status: ON
page base: blank (I have tried with index.php as well, but to no avail)
def. extension: .html
I have done the mod rewrite in .htaccess as well, and tried without the mod rewrite.
So I really dont know why this is happening.
Please have a look at my site, to see if you can help me out with this one.
Just click on the gift voucher category or the backing tracks one and then on the backing track itself, and you'll see what I mean.

Don't forget that the Magic SEO COSTS and you have to maintain a link to their web site!!
What follows may be dumb, but...
So, is SEO URL turned on on your web site? If so, then turn it off via the Admin and check to see if the problems occur. If not then SEO URL is the culprit.
Reinstall and ensure that you precisely follow ALL the steps given in the PDF manual (downloadable from here) - assuming that you use version 3.00beta - and check again.
Be totally thorough - the chances are that it's not the mod, but the installation.
HI just installed Ultimate_SEO_URLs_v2.105. However, I could not find the SEO URLS in Admin>Configration. Appreciate if anybody can let me know how can I enable this mod.
I am using Zen cart V1.3.7 and the shopping cart is not working after this mod is installed.
