Re: International Shipping
I used the SQL statement to make a Non US zone. I also cloned two flat rates for international shipping using the post by fairestcape of December 16, 2008. When I try to checkout using an international address, I am on Step 1 of 3 where I select a shipping method, then when I click continue, the next page is blank. I am using the latest version of Zencart 1.3.9h Patch 1. It was an upgrade from 1.3.9g. I've spent hours searching through the online documentation and can't find a solution. I have no add-ons, but I am using a template. The server is Apache 2.2.17 and the installation is remote. PHP version 5.2.16 and MySQL version 5.0.91.
Re: International Shipping
Never mind. I got it to work. The problem was extra spaces/extra lines in the flat.php, flatone.php and flattwo.php files. I found the solution in another thread where designgoddess was having the same problem. Use Advanced Search and enter the user name to find her threads.
Re: International Shipping
I have been reading through this thread. This is my first attempt at setting up shipping by weight.
I am in The netherlands, and postal service basically has 5 different shipping zone calculations.
In my admin panel, only three zones are available.
The 5 required zones are:
NL
Eur-zone 1
Eur-zone 2
Eur-zone 3
World
Can I add more zones? How?
parts weight shows up as Lbs. How can I change that to Kilograms?
Re: International Shipping
I found the zone add section in /includes/modules/shipping/zones.php, line 114 change num_zones to 5
If I set zone 5 countries to 00 would that mean all countries not mentioned in the previous zones (excluding all mentioned countries for zone 5)
Not yet found: how I can change product weight notation which now is in lbs. I checked My location, The Netherlands. That should set all units to metric ?
Re: International Shipping
You cannot use Countries and 00 in the Same Zone ...
If Zone 5 has a country code in it ... then you need a Zone 6 for the 00 for all other countries not previously defined ...
NOTE: make sure the 00 is always the last Zone defined when using it ...

Thank you very much for your response. Zone 5 will be "rest of the world outside Europe" My shipper PostNL does not discriminate between countries outside Europe. Same shipping charges apply worldwide.
I understand from your answer, that the assumption was right.
Do you have any tips concerning the imperial vs metric weight notation in my product definition?
Re: International Shipping
The weight is just a unit of text ... if you need something different than lbs you can change all text for lb and lbs to what you need ...
The Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... can help you find all references of:
lb
lbs
in the bottom input box ...
Note: be sure to adjust the Configuration ... Maximum Weight ... from 50 to a higher number for your needs ...
Re: International Shipping
Nice to know that the cart works using it's own units.
I changed three files english.php (2x) and zones.php(1x)
Units show up in Kg now.
Thanks for your advice. It was very clear.
Re: International Shipping
Thanks for the update that you now have this working ...
Re: International Shipping
Sorry to beat a dead horse, but this is just not making sense to me. I need to have US shipping be $14.95 per item, and non-US $19.95 per item. This seems like it should be so easy, but for the life of me, it just isn't working. I have read this entire post and I am still left scratching my head.
