Re: Admin-Editable Sidebox - Support Thread
Hmmm... Okay. I want a sidebox that I can turn on and off on a per product basis. There, that does it!

No joy, still breaking the site.
Could one of you guys take a look, please.
What am I missing?
PS. Sorry to post in this thread but to my knowledge there is no support thread for blank sidebox.
Sorry but both the javascript and the CSS in this are written in a rather old-fashioned, intrusive fashion, very different to how I write my javascript, and so I'm not able to be authoritative about the syntax. I would though suggest that you have no need to escape semi-colons, and doing so would probably confuse your site.

Then you're posting in the wrong thread. That's not what this mod is about.
You'd be better off looking in the FAQ where you'll find a tutorial about restricting which EZ-Pages a sidebox appears on. This would work equally well using the product's ID in place of the ezpage_id.

Many thanks for the pointer - I'll try that option now. And apologies for 'crashing' your thread!

Thanks for answer, but still no joy.
Here's the tpl file, with all semi-colons unescaped, it breaks the site in the same way.
I am unable to determine which line is causing the site to crash.
Is there a debugger that I can use for these cases?
If you would take another look, it would be much appreciated.

Getting the editable sidebox to work should be the last puzzle piece for getting the shell of my site up. Now my issues.
I have it all installed. I changed the title of new sidebox once when I didn't think I was going to use the sidebox, now that I'm using it, I can't for the life of me figure out where to change it again.
Also, I tried using the Define pages editor to put what I want in the box, but it doesn't show up in the sidebox.
Lastly, does anyone know if the ajax system (http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=236) will work in the editable sidebox? I use it for the rest of the site and what things to match. Thanks

OK, I reinstalled the sidebox mod and I was able to clear up my first 2 issues. Still looking for assistance with the ajax mod and if it will work with the editable sidebox. Thanks

Not really. That's a dynamic (i.e. database accessing) mod that comes with its own sidebox. The Admin Editable Sidebox is a way of easily adding static data to a sidebox using the HTML Editors available in Admin.
Re: Admin-Editable Sidebox - Support Thread
By using the editable sidebox, can I create pages that link to other pages that are in the regular zen category box? I was hoping to use the second box to cross reference the main box and give customers a alternate way to search for products. Thanks

This can be done, you can put links in editable sidebox.
However, I don't see the utility of your project, no harm meant.
There are plenty menus out there that accomplish excellent results.
