Hi tina,
Ive been using this module for a while and absolutely love it. Ive changed my template and was "playing" with the layout and realised Id done exactly what youre describing and yet previously it was working fine.
So I came here to post and coincidentally you posted my query!! A reread of the thread brought this up:

Did you enable the Reward Point sidebox (and/or Cart with Reward Point sidebox) under Admin->Tools->Layout Box Controller???
Also you will need to enable the Redeem Reward Point Order Total box under Admin->Modules->Order Total

Just a quick add to my previous post, under modules, mine says reward points ot_reward_points just in case you are looking for Redeem Reward Point Order Total box like I was for 10 minutes!! :oops:

Thanks! I had opted to manually install everything (and missed out a module!). Its all good now.
Thanks again.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
I am hoping someone out there can help me here! The reward module works just fine for me - but I have a situation where users can buy a service from a 3rd party application and will not necessarily visit Zen cart during that purchase (we lie in an express world now - no time to check in and all that!!!). I basically have two choices:-
1) Update Zen Cart tables directly. ( I need to confirm the exact tables to update for that user - dont want to screw the dB up)
2) Check them in into the checkout module automatically. This is my preferred approach, but I need to know
(a) How to log them in behind the scenes
(b) How to add the item into their cart and then land them into the pre-checkout page.
This will give them the desired option to checkout (and pick up those valuable points) or spend more time shopping - before checking out.
I hope this all makes sense? Can anyone help? By the way, the rewards module is really really cool!

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Good morning. Just joined the forums and just learning about zencart. Have yet to do an install but I have downloaded. I am looking for a cart that can be run strictly off of points, and I am hoping this mod/plugin can do it .
My customer is looking for a shopping cart where people are sent from an outside party (car dealership, bank, etc). From that other party the person is given a number of points as part of a reward program. At any time the person can come to the shopping cart site and shop with their points. When browsing around the store all the person sees is the point value of the products, not the cash value. The person can do all of the typical shopping cart functions.
(Assume before all of the this the person is given either a user/pass or a special award certificate number so when they enter the cart it knows how many points they have)
Once they checkout if the number of points exceeds what they have they can pay the difference in regular currency (USD).
How much of the above scenario does this module cover?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
I've since installed zencart and this module but I am having some issues:
1. That box showing the number of available points is not showing up anyplace in the shopping cart. I've validated that the box modules is uploaded in the correct folder /public_html/includes/modules/sideboxes/custom. The option to show it and in what order is also not appearing in admin.
2. On my system points are not being deducted after an order is complete. Should they be ?
3. How do I turn off points being earned? Does not make sense to earn and use points. Our cart will be mainly points based.
4. How do I show the point value of an item instead of the cash value?
Most other reward functions appear to be working.
Thanks,
Patrick

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Hi I have just installed the module and on an install of 1.3.8.
All the install went fine, it is great module and very feature rich - but I have a problem that the rewards aren't being calculated correctly.
The business I run is a rental one where each item has 3 attributes (1,3,6 week rental). These have been set up using the price factor of
0 for 1 wk = so a 6 dollar rental has another $0 added = total $6
1 for 3 wk = so a 6 dollar rental has another $6 added = $12
2 for 6 wk = so a 6 dollar rental has another $12 added = $18
The module only seems to pick up the intial $6 base price and not the additional price factor increases. So if any option is selected the reward in the above case is always only $6.
I have changed one of the products to use fixed price attributes of +6 and +12 for the 3/6 wk rentals and that did work and the different prices were correctly reflected in the reward amount.
Is this a error in my install or does the module not deal with price factor attributes - and if not can it be on the wish list as it is not really practical for me to fixed price for my site.
Thanks.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Man this is just killing me my test store http://whereisyourfocus.com/ . I've installed this plugin. In the tools layout boxes I've configured these two boxes to be on and on the right hand side. For the life of me they will not show up. What can cause a configured box to not show up?

did you set the option under the configuration section "reward point"
2nd option from the top "reward points sidebox display"

Thanks. But you don't have to do anything with that do you? That comes set to zero. I've checked it 100 times. 0 means always display it.

Reward Point Sidebox Display
Display Reward Points Sidebox
0= Always
1= Only when logged in
2= Only when logged in and has points

Hi Patrick
I see you have loaded the template into the custom directory. Have you tried puttung these files in the normal place and not into custom. As far as i know when you put it in custom you then also need to change your template to use custom else it will just use the normal dir structure. So if you copy everything you have in your custome dir to template default sideboxes perhaps this will be the fix.
-
Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Response 1
I have only the out of the box order module installed. Brand new install.
Response 2
Right now they are in sideboxes/classic. I think that is the theme I am using. the options for those boxes are now show up in the admin area layout controller. But the boxes themselves are not showing up.
Thanks for looking everybody. It seems I am close - those boxes would be nice though so when people sign in they can immediately see how many points they have to shop with.
-
Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
i made a clean install of zen cart and changed all custom dir in the reward points add on to classic. Copied them directly to the cart.
Once i did the sql update and turned the boxes on in the admin they showed 1st time without having to do anything else. When i log in i also get the other box showing me the customer points earned.
So not sure why youirs does not come up staright away.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Thanks.
1. I wish the directions would say something about copying that custom stuff to a special folder and not just uploading it as is
2. I did the exact same thing you did yesterday with no luck at all.
I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling again.

I know you are still new and therefore might have made certain assumptions but it is standard practice to name directories "CUSTOM" or even "YOUR_TEMPLATE".
These names are used to indicate to you that the files contained within must be go to your custom template directory name (maintaining the balance of the directory structure of course)

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Thanks. Even if I was experienced and know that I would not have seen that because in my FTP client I right clicked on the parent folder and clicked UPLOAD. It uploaded everything into the correct path (as far as I knew). I had to go digging later and realized that a child child folder had been uploaded called custom and that it needed special handling.
So still a note in the directions of any of the plugins that said 'Make sure after you upload everything you dig into any child folders and move the files in the CUSTOM folder to the appropriate places'. Or possibly an indication that a particular plug in has a custom folder. That may no be obvious from just downloading and extracting.
It would not hurt anything to add it. If I've made this mistake others have probably made it in the past, and others will make it in the future. Why not add a line of text or two to prevent this particular issue from happening to someone else in the future?
I am trying to contribute. If I need to I'll add it to the plug in. Am I allowed to mod that and re upload it to the repository?

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Everything appears to be working, I am getting no errors. However, the points always show 0 and never earned when I have placed test orders. The config is filled out. :huh:

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Okay, so the points are adding now... but during checkout, there is no option to use the reward points as payment/apply points. (checkout_payment)

I want 100 points to equal the value of $5.00
Right now, 100 points equals $.10
Any ideas?

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
ok I apologize if this was discussed before, but I've been at this for HOURS :frusty:and too tired :sleepy:to search 104 pages ...did do a 'search this thread' and nothing came up for this issue.
Anyway, just installed the 'Edit Orders' mod and seems to have a conflict with this mod.
When I view customer invoices, the reward points don't show up. Also, any reward points cashed in are ADDED instead of subtracted to the total.
Any ideas how I can fix this, if possible?
Thanks!!
BTW using zen 1.3.8

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Hello,
I have searched the thread to see what I'm doing wrong and could not find any reference to this.
Running zen 1.3.8a and 1.26a - I have a fresh install of both on my dev environment.
What I see is that for the first transaction everything is fine.
I have 1 product which earns 1000 points each time purchased and redeems to $10 so reward is set to 10, redemm 0.01
Purchase 1 : 2 items = 2000 in cart, turns into = earned 2000 points
Purchase 2: 1 item = 1000 incart, turns into = earned 1000 points (no reduction for the $20 redeemed)
purchase 3: 1 item = 1000 in cart, turns into = earned 800 - the purchase redeems the 1000 = $10. (the $20 redeemed from purchase 1 now impacts on rewards earnt - as only 800 and not 100)
purhcase 4: 1 item = 1000 incart, turns into = 900 - the purchase redeems the 1000 = $10. (the $10 redeemed from purchase 2 now impacts on rewards earnt - as only 900 and not 100)
It seems that the reduction in reward points awards that should occur when some are redeemed is impacting the next purchase and not this one. Any ideas - everything else is running fine on this new install.
You can try at www.ishanipeter.com/shopping - the product that I have tested with is the $100 buying test product.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Hi,
I have been searching to see if the rewards program has the ability to alter the Reward point Ratio based on a product category, manufacturer or more preferrably the ability to alter each product individually.
I am running Zen Cart 1.3.8a with this Rewards Module which works fantasticly.
Example being; Product A costs $100, Reward Points = 500 (5%)
Product B costs $100, Reward Points = 1000 (10%)
many thanks in advance!

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
I think this may have been asked before but for the life of me I couldn't find an answer after trawling through all those pages :blink:
I've installed RP 1.26a onto Zen Cart 1.3.8a and everything works OK except for one thing.
The reward points values aren't showing on any of the products (Underneath the product description and price).
Its hows up on the Shopping cart and Reward Points sections in the right column perfectly as well as on checkout, but not when you click on the product. I'm using a custom template. I've installed/uninstalled a few times but the values just don't show up.
My website if it helps is http://www.cosycandles.com
If anyone can point me in the right direction or show me a previous thread/tutorial I'd be so grateful.
Thanks

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
I've started working with ZC and that points module. From what I understand that is not how it is supposed to work. The points don't come into play until you try to checkout.
This is something I have to deal with too. I was going to find an extra field in the product someplace to put the point value. I was then going to hide the cash price and display that extra field.
Does anybody else know - will that work OK?
-
Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
2. Copy all the files in folders named 'custom' to your corresponding custom folders.
problem here the module has no folder named "custom" and neither does my server files for my store? rewards module is showing under admin but the turn on function is not present in the layout boxes control panel. help please!!

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
HI -again - got the server upgraded to mysql 5.
I still see the following behaviour - the reward points to be deducted come from the order last but one. As below order 1, affects the point earnt on order 3, and not order 2. Any ideas?

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
ok so run the upgrade.sql through the system and bingo finally shows up in final stage of checkout but shows as following.....
Reward Points You may click to redeem any collected Reward Points. Your redeemed points will be applied to the total and reflected in your cart after to click continue.
Current Reward Points:
10 CUSTOMER_EARNED_POINT_TAG
Value of Redeemed Reward Points:
£0.10
Redeem Reward Points:
and doesn't show anywhere else???
-
Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
oh and the grammar no offence but its terrible!!
"to the total and reflected in your cart after to click continue."
should definetly read...
to the total and reflected in your cart after YOU click continue.
im debating if to just remove this module all together??

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Make sure you've extracted the tpl_account_edit_default.php to your correct custom folder- the full code for that segment should be:
PHP Code:

<?php
$total_points=getCustomersRewardPoints($_SESSION['customer_id']);
if(defined(MODULE_ORDER_TOTAL_REWARD_POINTS_STATUS) && MODULE_ORDER_TOTAL_REWARD_POINTS_STATUS==true)

$redeem_ratio=GetRedeemRatio($_SESSION['customer_id']);
$points_value=$currencies->format($total_points*$redeem_ratio);
}
else
if(defined(MODULE_ORDER_TOTAL_REWARD_POINTS_DISCOUNT_STATUS) && MODULE_ORDER_TOTAL_REWARD_POINTS_DISCOUNT_STATUS==true)
{
$row=GetRewardPointDiscountRow($total_points);
if($row!=null)
$points_value=$row['discount'].'%';
else
$points_value="0%";
}
echo '<label class="inputLabel">'.REWARD_POINT_PROMPT.'</label>'.'<label class="inputLabel">'.$total_points.'</label>';
echo '<br class="clearBoth" />';

I replaced what you had, its the same that I had anyways. Still shows as this:
Total Reward Point Value: 20%
When it should be Total Reward Point Value: $20 .... Everything is located in the correct directory. Please let me know. I don't see anything in the code that points to it that it should use a $ insted when using a cash discount not a % discount.... Again this only in the my account settings, during checkout everything is how it should and it deducts correctly using $, its just showing wrong in the "My Account". Thank you.

hmm- it looks like you need to run the update.sql through the sql patch.

Okay I went through the database and removed both "Reward Points" and ran the update still shows as a % in my account :\

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
sorry for the triple post, but I have also found another location in the admin-> Customers-> Reward Points... it shows as this:
Reward Points Pending: 0
Value of Pending: $0.00
Reward Points Earned: 113
Value of Earned: 5%
When the Value of Earned should be $5.00... maybe this will help you find the error. Is it doing the same for you?

and the other one in the configuration.php file... I have no idea, but the only line that has "eval" in it is this one..

Any suggestions?

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Have you made any changes to your zencart database recently?
-
Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Also- try running rpd (Reward Point Diagnostics)- You can download the latest from www.omnicia.com/rpd.zip- Just copy the two files to your root folder and call rpd.php from your browser.

No, not any major changes. I have moved my downloads folder outside the public_html folder in order to protect them. Then had to change the configure.php files to connect to the new folder, but other than that, no I have not changed anything.
Not sure what you mean by running the diagnostics. I am still somewhat new to all this and not exactly sure what that is. I am a fast learner for the most part though.
I was also wondering if it is possible to award points to certain customers and where I can do that. Maybe I can't right now due to the errors.
Thanks for your help.

OK, I downloaded it and tried to run it an it says the link it broken. Am I doing something wrong. I typed in www.mydomain/rpd.php. What else should I do?

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
I am also not seeing a lot of the options that I see in the screenshots. I to do not have, or maybe don't see where, you can get to the Reward Points - Top section in the categories. I also do not see where I can change the customers points in the customers section in Admin. Did I do something wrong. I have installed many modules before and this one seemed pretty straight forward.

RPD will flag all the items that are missing in red. You need to take a note of these files (and their locations) and copy the missing files from the original zip you downloaded.

OK, I feel really stupid for asking this, but how do I do that?
I put the rdp.xml and php files in my root directory. When I put in the address www.lauriesscraps.com/rpd.php it say s the link is broken, and when I click on it in FTP it just pulls up the coding.
I know this should be simple, but I just don't know what you mean. Thank you for your patience with me.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
OK, I think I got it fixed, as far as seeing the other things I was not in the screenshots. Now I am seeing an error message somewhere else, under Customer Reward Points Admin:
Quote:
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1
in:
[select c.customers_id, c.customers_lastname, c.customers_firstname, c.customers_group_pricing, r.pending_points, r.reward_points, gp.group_name, rm.redeem_ratio from customers as c LEFT JOIN (reward_customer_points as r) ON (r.customers_id=c.customers_id) LEFT JOIN(group_pricing as gp) ON (gp.group_id=c.customers_group_pricing) LEFT JOIN(reward_master as rm) ON ((c.customers_group_pricing!=0 AND rm.scope=3 AND rm.scope_id=c.customers_group_pricing) OR (c.customers_group_pricing=0 AND rm.scope=0 AND rm.scope_id=0)) WHERE c.customers_lastname LIKE 'A%' ORDER BY c.customers_lastname LIMIT ;]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
I a=have been going through everything trying to figure this out on my own and just decided to uninstall the SQL patch then reinstall it, which worked ok, then I started changes some of the settings in admin and I got th error again, so I uninstalled then reinstalled again and it fixed it. Not sure if will give me the error again or not, but for now it is fixed.
The only other question I have is this..... I installed another module that gives a "free gift" of my choosing when the order is over a certain amount of money. Even though it shows up as free in the shopping cart when it is automatically added, and I have free products set to 0 points, it still gives points for the "free gift" item. Do you know if that can be changed or fixed?
Thanks again for all your help. I am slowly learning my way around all of these. Thank you for your patience.

Mine is doing the same thing and I did not see a fix to this problem. Is there a fix to this?
Mine will go straight to pay pal even if there is nothing owing, and I can also not choose how many points to put towards the purchase. Is this something that is in the beta version that was posted about back in October?
Thanks again!

there's an SQL patch included in the mod zipfile called remove_multiple_config_items.sql. Just run that under Config->Tools->SQL Patches.

Well the first issue is a Paypal problem so probably the best is to flag it with them. For the second I'd change the way your RP is being calculated in Config->Reward Points; From the readme.txt
Quote:
From 1.20a admin can set a Mode configuration item to select whether points are rewarded by product or are
rewarded by order (sub)total.

This is what I got when I used the remove_multiple_config_items.sql:
Quote:
1146 Table 'integri2_zc1.configuration' doesn't exist

[DELETE FROM zen_configuration_group WHERE configuration_group_id NOT IN ( SELECT configuration_group_id FROM configuration WHERE 1);]

I did try it earlier on tonight and for some reason I had all my products etc missing so I re-installed the sql patch and now I have 3 of the Reward Points in configuration under Admin.
Kind Regards

There is an issue with an ZC corefile called sqlpatch.php which affects anyone who uses a prefix on their zencart tables. You can find an updated version in admin/sqlpatch.zip- Just extract this to admin/sqlpatch.php and the script will work.

I have it set to calculate RP by order total and against the full order total. I guess the problem was setting the Display Products Reward Points When Zero setting to NOT display even at zero. That seemed to do the trick. I will contact pay pal about the other problem. Thank you for your help!

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Now I am having another problem. I did not touch anything, but when I go to check out, if I have more reward points than what is needed to pay for my items, it goes to Step 2 or checkout for about 2 seconds then reverts back to the shopping cart. I can't get past the check out page.
When I take away my points so that I only have enough to pay for some of the order, it checks out fine. Any ideas on that? Not sure what happened.
-
Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
check the options i am sure there is an option to not allow orders to be paid for fully by reward points but i am having no issues with mine at the moment so dont really mess around with it too much. just set it too 5 points per £ and left it at that :)

It does have a setting to choose how many (percentage) of your total account reward points you can use towards any order, but not a limit on specific points total can be used on each order, from what I can tell. So not sure where to go from there.
Quote:
I not sure- My guess would be to code into the function pre_confirmation_check() so that the order total is checked and if it is zero then don't prompt for paypal details.
I contacted PayPal about being directed through pay pal even when the total is $0, and they told me that it was a problem with the shopping cart and not with PayPal. So in the quoted post above it was mentioned that it might be in the php file? What is the php file supposed to say exactly on this line above?
Also any advice on this?

Had it set at 0 all along except for the changing for trial and error purposes. It is back to 0 now. Thanks for the suggestion though. I really appreciate it. Anything is worth a shot at this point. Thanks!

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Hello everybody, i'm a Reward Points Module newbie. First of all excuse me for my bad english.
I've installed the module and everything goes perfectly.
I've set up global ratio, points displayed correctly in product info, point displayed correctly in shopping cart and in sideboxes.
Now when a customer confirm an order appear in total the voices Point Earned : number of points correct.
Then i change the status of order to "updated" as requested on configuration but NO point pass from shopping cart to earned or pending. They remain on shopping cart. Also if order is closed.
0 point earned
0 point pending
If i go to my account profile (customer level) and see the order history selecting an order, on the sideboxes appear me :
36 points in shopping cart
0 points earned
0 points pending
Same thing in admin area under customer reward points:
I've selected customer and 0 points earned and pending appear me.
What's wrong ?
Please help me, next week my shop must be online !
Thanks
Dario
My Zen Cart Version is 1.3.8a running on a linuxbox with PHP: 4.4.4 and MySQL 5.0.27 Patch Database: 1.3.8 fresh installation.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Tried also to switch configuration-reward points status track to advanced and clic the various setting.
When i update an order or ship nothing change to point (and in settings obviously it's not on IGNORED)....
-
Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
I am trying to use Advanced mode, but whatever I set, system never change status Pending to Earned. Even I set all my four statuses to Earned.
Simple mode works OK, but I want change Pending to Earned just when order is assigned as resolved, NOT when I assign order processing or anything else.
What am I doing wrong?
I use latest versions of ZC and RPM.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Okay guys- first make sure you are running the latest version of RP. You can get it here:
http://www.omnicia.com/Zencart%20Rew...s%20Module.zip
If you are still having issues, download and run RPD. Just copy the files from:
www.omnicia.com/rpd.zip
Then extract them to your root folder on your website and enter http://YOUR STORE WEB ADDRESS/rpd.php on your browser. Check for any lines highlighted in red.
If you are still having problems then you need to tell me what other mods you have loaded (plus give me a URL). After that if you would like me to check out your site, then PM me with temporary access details (Admin and FTP) if you are happy to do that- And I'll check the site personally.

Maybe I am the only one having problems getting this rpd.php file to work the way you have described, but I just can't get it. I have uploaded it to the root and it says the link is broken. I have uploaded it to the "www/" folder and the "Public_html" folder and I get function errors. So any ideas on what I am doing wrong? I am sure it is something simple, with my luck. Thanks in advance.

Hem thanks a lot for your answer !!!
NOW I've installed last version (i've tried 1.26a)...
Same thing identical. Point in shopping cart doesn't become pending and when i change status doesn't become earned. Nothing. It rest on shopping cart. I think that observer doesn't work ?
So, is it possible that you use some php5 functions ? I'm running php 4.4.4 on my server... :(
If you can check my site please tell me when and i give you accounts... (it's better if you have skype or msn, or something to talk).
I can't run rpd because use simplexml_load_file (php5 function)
Thanks really a lot.

Re: Reward Points Module- Live Release now available.
Hi hem,
I've been using your mod for a while and it works great! Thanks for an amazing mod :D
Just recently, i've noticed some weird things:
- There are negative reward point pending, sometimes only -6, but sometimes -200. I'm not sure how this negative points came up?
- When i ran some test orders, the reward points are not consistent in customer's invoice and in my admin. Meaning, after my "dummy" customer checked out, he has 159 reward points pending. But when I check in my admin - customer - reward points, he got only 150 points pending. Why is there such difference? How should I fix this?
I'm using Zen cart 1.3.8, Reward points full suit 1.2.6, template Pure black free. I've also thought of updating the mod to latest version, but after I ran the update.sql on my local host, it returned 3 errors (something about "can not create some tables because they already there")
Please advise! Thanks a lot!
Lisa

I think I should add in some more information to make my post clearer :)
My reward point config:
- Point ratio: $1 = 5 points
- Reward point status track: advanced mode
Order status Point status
Pending Pending
Delivered Earned
Cancelled Pending
Update Ignore
- Delete old reward transaction periods: 14 days
- Adjust reward points for sale/special: 1
My problem:
1. Reward points during check out and those in the system are calculated differently. For example: if a customer make an order of $34.90 with shipping fee $2 and a discount of $1.89 due to redeemed points --> total = $35.01. Reward points = ($34.90-$1.89) x 5 = 166. Which is totally alright for me.
But unfortunately, in the admin - customers - reward points, it shows 175 points pending (= $34.90 x 5).
How could I fix this inconsistency?
2. Initially any order's status will be pending, so the reward points are in pending account. If the customer would like to cancel his order, I'd change his order's status to Cancelled. I supposed the points would remain in the pending account, and would be eventually reset to 0 after 14 days.
But somehow these pending points became negative after 14 days. Once again, how should I fix this?
Anyone met these problems before? Please advise! Thanks a lot in advance!
Regards,
lisa
