If by category id you mean the mysql internal id number, no. If you are moving your store, it will be much easier to use the Backup MySQL database contrib, or your host's phpMyAdmin through the control panel.
Basically, you set up the store in the new location but without data. Open the SQL backup and remove any server specific settings. Usually best to redo payment modules by manually entering them.
I don't know if there is an FAQ on moving a store, but it isn't that hard. If you set the store up in the same way, you can use almost certainly use the backup contrib to restore your data at the new site.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Can someone please help me urgently!
Yesterday I deleted a couple of products in the admin (not using easy pop). Today I changed a few things round using easy pop and I noticed it says "2 partially deleted product(s) found! Delete this dross to prevent unwanted zencart behaviour by clicking here."
When I click the "here" button it says "Deleting of product data debris failed! Please see the debug log in your uploads directory for further information."
At the moment all the categories are confused with things appearing where they shouldn't. I assume that the above is causing the problem since I have completely deleted and then re-filled my catalogue with an earlier back-up and I am still experiencing problems.
My site is www.traditionalirishgifts.com if anyone needs to take a look.
Any help would be great. I can't even find the uploads file to look at the de-bug log.
Please help me! I'm loosing sales
thanks

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Barricades:
Are you using the Backup MySQL plugin for the Admin? Important to backup regularly!
You can try:
Admin -> Tools -> Update ALL Products Price Sorter
and
Admin -> Tools -> Optimize Database
ABSOLUTELY DON'T DO this until you've made a full backup of your store.
The "dross" error is an old bug that can be ignored for the most part. Why are you loosing sales? Did you put the store on maintenance?
Also, search this thread for "dross"

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Hi -
Thanks for Easy Populate! For a while, I thought I was going to have to manually enter 1000 products!
I'm using Easy Populate for a shoe store. Everything works pretty well, except that many of the items have the same model name. When I import these with Easy Populate, instead of creating a new item it just updates the same item for each entry with the same model name.
Is there a way to disable the updating, and have all items be entered as unique, regardless of model name? Is this something that's only available in the Advanced version?
Thanks,
Noah

If you wish to use Easy Populate correctly, each product MUST HAVE unique model number.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Hi all,
I'm using the Easy Populate from osc from this link
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=460
I chose it because the one from modhole only work up to zencart 1.3.6 according to the zencart download page. And I have 1.3.7 in use.
However, I keep getting the message of "No products_id field in record. This line was not imported". Even I got the export file from my previous manual created product. :onfire: Any help would be appreciated.
Secondly, please advise where to download mentioned detail documentation for this EP tool.
Thirdly, does anyone know how to use EP to import with product title tags, mega tags?
Thanks a bunch!

EasyPopulate 1.2.5.4 from modhole works fine on 1.3.7. and 1.3.8
Never yet got easypopulate osc version to work.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Noah,
This version of EP requires unique item numbers... period! If this is not an option, they you need to look at the first page for Langer's homesite for EPA. This is a paid module (but not expensive). I haven't seen Langer around for a while. Last we spoke he was working hard on updating EPA but that was last August!
Check his site out and dig around his forums to see if he is still actively working on the Advanced version.

Misty,
Why zencart download page shows it only support up to 1.3.6? Anyhow, I will try that then.
Besides, any idea of importing title tags, meta tags?
Thank you.
You have a nice GSD there

Because it hasn't been officially updated. I have used 1.2.5.4 (with my own mods) on both 1.3.7 and 1.3.7 without serious issue.
Quote:

Well, you could do that manually from within phpMyAdmin... but you'd need to do some research. files are:
meta_tags_categories_description
meta_tags_products_description
However, these are linked by product_id... not very friendly!
hmmm... might be doable ... will have to go code digging...
Anyone done this already?
-
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Thanks Chad.
Assuming they are under the same table, I think doing a sql update for title tags = product names is doable with phpmyadmin then.:P
I probably could turn in this add-on for 1.3.9 version?

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I have an issue I was hoping someone could help me with. My Easy populate will only download a blank froogle text file but it will create a proper file for froogle in my temp directory. Any ideas where to look? I have installed some mods since it stopped working - no telephone number needed at signup,M.A.P. pricing, price match request, display shopping cart price to free shipping qualify.
Thanks,

Strange one.
After uploading NEW products, you have to go Store Manager and use 'Reset ALL Products Master Categories ID'

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Hi there, I just installed Easy Populate and it 'seems' to be working fine (I mean... installed it correctly) but I am not sure if it does what I expected!
Tell me if Easy Populate can do what I want?
I'd like this tool to import a CSV file full of products, coming from Commission Junction or Link Share, or Affiliate Window. I am NOT selling products myself, in fact, I'm just an affiliate and I'd use Zen Cart as a Showcase... Commission Junction give me exports of products, and I'd like these products to shop up in my zen cart installation. Am i using the right tool for this?
Thanks!

Comtrad: I am using EP on 1.3.8.a without issue.
pikachu: This MAY work for you, but it will depend on the format they use. You will still have to manually "adjust" the data to use the correct column titles and use the EOREOR marker in the last column.
There MAY be data that won't directly import. Zencart does not have direct stock install support of things like item dimensions and freight class. Also, if your supplier sells based on attributes (one item number sold in red/green/blue), you're gonna have trouble ... and FINALLY you MUST have a unique product ID for each product you import.
Hope that clarifies things :)

Jason, my best suggestion is to a fresh install in a sub directory, then install EP to see if it is working correctly. You DID set file permissions to 777 on the temp directory off the root?

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I got this installed, but am a bit confused on adding categories. I want to add sub categories, so would v_categories_name_1 be the main category, and v_categories_name_2 is a sub category, and v_categories_name_3 is a sub of a sub, and so on?

Ok, I answered my question above.
However when I went to try and add categories, it only added a few of them.
I attached a picture of what I was trying to create and then the red dots are what was actually uploaded in 1 category string. What did I do wrong?

OK.
I added the categories manually. Not sure why categories would need a model #.
HOWEVER, when I tried to add products to those categories, only the first line is getting inserted into it. Each has it's own unique model #, and trying to insert it into a sub of a sub of a sub category. What might be the cause of this?
I was testing out adding products. I have a sub category I want them inserted into. I tried with 7 products to start out, and only the very first one is being inserted.

I think you are getting A LITTLE confused how EP works, EP sets out the product values, not your cart values, as you use a Model id for each product, so you set the Model id and the categories to that model, and for each individual model separately.

Ok, so when I want to upload products, instead of typing out the category names, I want to put the id #'s?
I already added the categories manually, so I don't need to bother with that part anymore with EP. I just am having trouble figuring out this mod.
This thread is great, however it would be nice if there was some how to use manual that came with the download

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Comtrad - The best way to see how EP works download each file and open it in OO or Excel and you will begin to see how it works.
For example:
v_prod_mod,v_cat_name_1,v_cat_name_2,etc,etc
5 metre,Cat5E PatchCable,Blue Cate5
1 metre,Cat5E PatchCable,Blue Cate5
this would put
5m cable in Cat => Cate5 Patch Cable =>Blue Cate5 and also 1 metre in the same,
but if you do this:-
v_prod_mod,v_cat_name_1,v_cat_name_2,,,
5 metre,Cat5E PatchCable,Blue Cate5,,,
1 metre,Cat5E PatchCable,Black Cate5,,,
this would put:
5m cable in Cat => Cate5 Patch Cable =>Blue Cate5
1m cable in Cat => Cate5 Patch Cable =>Black Cate5
The categories can already be set up you are just moving the product from one to another, but the categories have to be present as well as the Model id

So the 2nd example is the correct way then? I was doing what you are showing on the first example and that is when it was it was only inputing the first line.
I need to not have different products in the same category on the same upload?

Anything I can do to fix this or anyone know what the problem may be. I'm not sure when this started or why. Not a huge deal if I can't resolve it I guess.
I did a fresh install after a server crash corrupted my cart (it wasn't live yet fortunately) and I noticed this issue start when I had around 22000 items loaded in the cart. Now the results page never shows if I load 5k or 200 items from a .txt file. Any tips or an explaination appreciated.
This is back on page 124 of this thread (assuming you can't change the amount of replies on a page).
Anyway, my host recently had to upgrade our server to include the FreeType library for a CAPTCHA image. The IT guy said he had to do some other updates as well (he didn't specify what these were) but now my EP does display the results of the insert. It still takes a long time to display the page, but it gives the results as it did originally. Not sure what prompted this, I think he upgraded from PHP 4.x to 5.2.5 so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. Anyway, glad it is 'working' properly again.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Help Me Please....I am a newbie and so frustrated! Everyone assumes that you have some level of programming...I do not.
I'm finally starting to see some progress with zen cart, but I need to install Easy Populate. I'm having difficulty understanding the instructions. It states to change the admin name to suit your zen cart installation...hugh???? It also states to place the temp file in store directory...where is that? What???? When I installed zen it said that mysql database and mysql user is iicreate_zc1 ..... Is that the directory where i place the temp folder???? Please help me....I can follow directions if they are made clear to a novice...I have posted but no one has responded...and I have spent too many days reading posts that aren't apecific to my needs.....please.....HELP!!!!!!

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Realizingthedream- I did the same thing and it didn't work for either the first time I tried it. I did it again from scratch and it worked- forget changing the name, just copy the files so the admin folder contents just joins everything in the current admin folder and the temp folder just sits at the top level of your zen cart installation. Then do the installation code bits. Simple as.
I've got a bit of a question myself, most of the database fields are self-explanatory, the special from and to dates are a nifty feature, I love the way it works out the discount % and displays it! And obviously the prices, categories etc. BUT I don't understand what v_status is, and v_tax_class_title. Can anyone explain?
Also- any ideas why my database file turned itself to double-spaced?
Do items in the database join the ones currently in the shop? Or is the database the definitive list?
-
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
the v_status is the status of the product. 1=active 0=inactive. The v_tax_class_title is the name of a tax class. Leave it blank if the item in non-taxable, or enter the name of the tax class if it needs to have tax applied such as Taxable Goods (or whatever your taxable items tax class named Admin > Location / Taxes > Tax Classes)

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Hello,
I know this question has been asked many times but I could not find a suitable answer in the threads. I have attached my page which I have imported into the database. It is a M$ excel edited tab delimited file. I uploaded using filezilla into the temp folder and inserted the file into the database using easy populate in the admin. It says the file uploaded successfully. The problem is nothing shows up under categories or anywhere else for that matter. If there is a problem with the page I uploaded please point it out for me.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
ORDER of Headings incorrect.
SHOULD BE
i.e.
Code:
v_products_model v_products_image v_products_name_1 v_products_description_1 v_products_url_1 v_specials_price v_specials_date_avail v_specials_expires_date v_products_price v_products_weight v_date_avail v_date_added v_products_quantity v_manufacturers_name v_categories_name_1 v_categories_name_2 v_categories_name_3 v_categories_name_4 v_categories_name_5 v_categories_name_6 v_categories_name_7 v_tax_class_title v_status EOREOR
Word EOREOR should be entered under that heading for EVERY PRODUCT.
TIP..use OpenOffice for Easy Populate not MSExcel..

Some people change the name of the admin folder as a security measure. If you have not changed it then the file will still be called admin. The easiest way to set up this program is to use filezilla client which can be downloaded here. You will want to add the temp directory under the directory public html because that is where your store resides.
Then the rest of the files will go into admin etc. You will see the files you need to install on the left side of the filezilla client and the files on your server on the right side. Unzip Ep to your desktop so it will be easy to find. Then look at Ep using filezilla on the left and you should see the corresponding files on your right. Drag and drop the files onto your server and you should have an easy install.

1. install EP, then download file showing your own products etc.
Use Open Office to process that file to tab delimited...
2. yes
3. As my earlier post, every product must have word EOREOR
at end of each line, under column EOREOR.
If you download your own file as per instructions in EP zip
and my comment 1, all will be revealed.

I don't know what i'm doing wrong but have the same problem on my proper site and my test site when it comes to EP
For some random reason the products are somehow registered but stay invisible.
What is it i'm doing wrong?
Here are the pages:
napavi.no
napavi.no/catalogue (test site)
Its best seen in the test site where under jul there are 183 products but when u go into jul there are none.
This is also under admin.
The list uploaded to the test site is the list taken from the proper site and is of products entered manually...
EP works fine with updating elements in the already existing products.

I've just installed easy_populate_from_osc_2.76dmod3a on my Zen Cart v1.3.7.1
When I try to download, after clicking "start file creation" that's redirect me to the admin login page
When I try to upload (by modifying the sample) I have the same problem, the file is in temp, I can select it from "Import Data from file in temp/" but when I click I'm redirected to the admin login page
I need to create 200 articles...can't imagine to do it from the backend :lookaroun
Thanks all!

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
polnaref - Note the title of this thread 'Version 1.2.5.4', at present this is the best version of EP all others that I am aware of (excluding EPA which is a commercial version and supported by the author) are buggy in the download area.
So my advance either use 1.2.5.4 or buy EPA.

Thank you for this contribution. I have installed it and I have been able to transfer my store products to my new zen cart (I had to create a new domain name and move my store because of horrible spammers where attacking my store!) This contrubition has saved me many, many hours so far.
I am unable to find out how Easy Populate can move my zip file names, is this possible? I sell digital products that are available for immediate download. The attributes of the zips have transferred but not the name of the zip files, is it possible to get the zip names transferred and associated?
Thank you for your time!

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I couldn't find an answer to my question in the places I looked.
How do I get the text formating I want for the product description when I use EP?
That is, I've been entering all of my items thru Admin until today. I've used font = Georgia size = 12 when I typed the description into the new product in Admin.
How do I get Georgia 12 to show up when I use EP?
Today I set the description column in the EP spreadsheet to that font, but I lost it when I uploaded to my store.
Also, I lost my carriage returns that I put into the spreadsheet cell. So, the line breaks I wanted are not there. Do I have to go into Admin and modify each product manually?
Thanks

/images/http://abccompany.com/12345.jpg
Why not just ask your supplier to supply the images to host on your site, other wise you would need to add the image via the description box and add the link in there.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I started getting this error but never had it before:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 106 bytes) in /home/XXXX/public_html/XXXXXXX/easypopulate.php on line 1223
Is there something I can do to fix? I used to be able to load very large files (15mb) without splitting them. Why can't I do it now?
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
HumDaddy - PHP has a very small memory, it is always advisable to upload approx. 300 products at once splitting the files and EP always works better that way, and less liklely to cause problems.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Ive just started to use 1.2.5.4 after having a few issues with other versions. Im trying to populate my shop but are finding when uploading the new items the first 6 or 7 load but the remainder fail. The v_prod_model is unique but some of the v_prod_image are the same as some products have varients. I have scratched my head but cant resolve.
Im importing the file to excel but then saving as ms-dos .txt format, it appears to look correct if you open the text file.
Any pointers or suggestions much appreciated.

Hey Scrat --
Have attached the results, cant see any EOREOR entries. There are about 25 or so records in there, the first 6 loaded and were pretty simular to the remainder that didn't. Have also posted the upload file.
-
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
hduk - Simple you need 'EOREOR' on the end of every row/line in your upload file , your first 5 have it so they upload but the reset have not.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Two quick questions:
1. Can I use EZ Populate to add Page Titles, Keywords, and Descriptions for Manufacturers? If so, how?
2. How do I use EZ populate to put a product into two different categories? If I upload the products to go in Widgets~Black...can I send a new file and Have it go to Widgets~Blue, and have the product appear in both, or will the second override the first?
-
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Kbmets7,
As for #2 this is simple. Yes. Use your first spread sheet with widgets~black.
Dont change anything except for widgets~black, change it to widgets~blue.
Make sure that the category you wish to populate has been created first!
If the products are identical this is considered "Duplicate Content" and it can hurt you.
Good Luck,
John

Thanks, John.
So, if I have a poster of John Lennon in NYC, and I place that one product in two cats:
Music->Beatles
Cities->NY
That would be considered duplicate content? I know lots of high ranking sites that cross reference different products.
Thanks again.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
hduk - Was far as I am aware not with EP1.2.5.4 but check out EPA I don't know whats included with that version, the only other way is a SQL script.
johnd - You need to insert it into your spread sheet under this heading v_products_description_1
For example:
PHP Code:
<p>
<font size="2" face="Verdana">
This is a paragraph.
</font>
</p>
<p>
<font size="3" face="Times">
This is another paragraph.
</font>
</p>
See this web site for more html examples w3schools.com
As for within Zencart set your editor in Conf>My Sore>HTML Editor>HTMLarea

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I also need help since I 2 am new to easy populate.
My problem is that I have installed easy populate correctly. The program is showing up on my zencart and uploads my product file from excel correctly.
The true problem is that I do not see any products on my site. Easy populates tells me my file is successfully installed. Also I cannot set Master Category in tools since it does not give me the option. All the directories suggested in this post is set correctly for permissions.
Am I missing a step somehow??? I have also deleted and reinstalled easy populate 4 times on 4 different days with the same results.
-
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
geryaf - EP has nothing to do with the Master Category reset this is a core Zencart device. It is under Tools>Store Manager
Had you set any of you Categories first in Zencart or done it by EP.
If it is the Latter Zencart will not be seeing the products, so the best way would be delete all you products and Cats' and start again from fresh via Zencart and then import from EP when it is set in Zencart.
EP is just a import tool that inserts the data into the database it does touch the core files.
-
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I'm having the same problem as geryaf. Thank you.
-
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
1. Use Open Office not Excel..EP works much better.
2. You need Category installed into zencart, and
also preferably some products under that category.
Install both/all via zencart admin first, before using
EP. 1 Category, with 3 products, will do to start with.
3. Then install EP..download Easy Populate csv file,
for existing category/products via your zencart admin, under
tools, then easy populate. This file will give you
the correct headers needed for you to add further products.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Using the following simple update file and others I get a redirect to a 500 server error which states that there has been a hiccup in the server, check the logs correct the error and try again. The error logs show the explode error line 241. I have reinstalled EP and still get these errors. I also get this error when I create a price/quantity update file using EP and try to upload the untouched file using EP?
Any ideas? I don't see any empty delimiters in my file.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I've created the directories in Zen, then added a few products in each one I will be importing to using EP. I then exported the inventory file, added some products, and copied to my temp folder. The problem is, a new root directory is created with the same name as the existing directory, but no products are uploaded into either directory. Help.... Thanks - Hank

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
HumDaddy - You can only use the file formats below:-
Quote:
Download Complete tab-delimited .txt file to edit (Attributes Not Included)
Download Model/Price/Qty tab-delimited .txt file to edit
Download Model/Category tab-delimited .txt file to edit
Download Froogle tab-delimited .txt file
Download Model/Attributes tab-delimited .txt file
You cannot just pick the headings you would like to import.
hankthtank - Try to download a 'Complete' file then add a product to the last row and import the file in that format and you will see this work.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I'm thinking I must not be opening and/or saving the file correctly in Open Office Calc. I downloaded the complete file, added one item, ftp'd the file to /temp, then uploaded using EP. One of the catagories for an item i didn't add created a new root category, and the new item did not show up. Any ideas?

I've found it's easier to upload the entire file via FTP to the temp directory and load it from there. Splitting shouldn't be necessary. Of course, a backup before proceeding never hurts!

Sorry, I thought you'd be familiar with ftp'ing - how did you install your cart? It's usually done via ftp. There's a bunch of free ftp programs available (I recommend snapfiles.com for excellent freeware - go to the freeware section instead of shareware). FileZilla is a popular one.
Alternatively, if your web server has the cpanel control panel you can upload files via the file handler there. Once your Easy Populate file is ready upload it to the temp folder which is in the root of your store directory. Upload in text mode, not binary, if using ftp. Then you can go back into your store's admin panel and import it.
Hope this helps. You can contact me via private message if you need more assistance.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I know how to use Easy populate except I am now stuck on a situation with the spreadsheet. For example I have say 300 products I am trying to upload and when I get to the column to mark the default location for the picture all my products consist for example of a 5 digit number: 12345 and they each have to end with .jpg to point to my pictures. Well instead of putting .jpg 1 by 1 down the column of 300 I took in excel and did a Concatenate to combine 2 cells into one. I then name that cell v_products_image and save it like I normally due but I hide the 2 cells I used to make this into one cell. When I go to upload I keep getting the error ERROR! - Column count mismatch on row 2 - The likely cause of this is inconsistant use of a text delimiter in your file or an obscure character in a product name of description.
Ensure there is no text delimiter, or all fields (including column headings) are delimited.
You may alternatively need to adjust the value of "$ep_overrides['file_buffer']" higher in your overrides file.
for each line. IS there a fix for this issue or do I have to 1 by 1 enter .jpg into the original column? With excel cant we use formulas to combine columns and then be able to save an upload like normal? Please help thank you. I have over 3000 products and to do it one by one will take FOREVER>

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
The simple way to do what you want is to paste your image numbers into the correct column. Then format that column as a number (they should then look like 12345.00, etc). From there, do a find /replace and replace the .00 with a .jpg, presto, they are all changed. You can then reformat it back to text but I don't think it would matter if you didn't. Let me know if you need futher clarification.
-
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
@buyersparadise - you're only hiding the "working" cells, not removing them so they are still there as far as the code is concerned...therefore the column count is wrong as far as EP is concerned.
Do your concatenation and use Paste special to put the values in the images column; delete your "working" cells.

Can I use a url under v_products_image?

As long as you have the headers on the first row you can add new products as many as you want, but up 300 is the most with out problems. Make sure you have unique model id's

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Thanks for the answers, helps a alot. A couple more questions:
Does it make a difference what the file is called, I am using open office and when I save it gives me an option regarding what type to save as?
Does the file have to have all the headers or just the ones that I want (name, image, qty, desc, cat).
When I upload a file, this will only make additions to the product DB and will not remove anything. For example my store currently has around 400 products. If I create a file with 50 products adn upload it, it will just add these and not assume that this is now the "full list".
Thanks for your help.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
I am getting a Line Delimiter not found! error when I try to import a small file containing new items.
I can go into easypopulate_overides.php and change $ep_overrides['linebreak']" to true and the first line will import correctly but the rest of the file will not.
I am on a Linux server and using Excel to create the spreadsheet, which I save as a txt file.
Please help.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Hi,
I have a couple of questions on this mod.
1. Is it possible for Zencart for automatically import a file into its database at a fixed time, instead of me manually loging in and uploading it. My supplier can automatically connect to my store via FTP and drop a tab-delimited file in a folder every night, so Zencart only has to detect the file and put it into its database.
2. Is it possible to have more than one upload file? I have about 5 suppliers who can supply me with a tab-delimited file every night or so, and I want those files to be imported at different times at night, but I want the database to be updated with the products. I’m not sure and may be wrong but is it true that if i upload with a file full of products and then upload with a different file with different products- Will my whole catalog be overwritten or will the new records from the other file update my database.
Thank you in advance, sorry for the length of the questions.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Thanks for the advice. Problem is I tried that and it wont work how come? Once it finds the .000 then it ask what i want to replace it with and I type .jpg and it keeps telling me excel cannot find a match. next to the replace it has a preview and format area. DO I change any thing on there? what should the within, search, and look in be on and should the match case and match entire cell content be checked? Thanks.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
mediathing - 1.Has to be a .txt file in a TAB delimited format but can be named what ever you like (xxxx.txt, newfile.txt, lastupload-08-03-2008.txt )etc
2. It must have the model heading but as from the readme file you can exclude unwanted columns but not tried it personnally.
3. It will upload new products, and update others if in the file if the status column is marked 1 if that column is marked 9 it will delete that product. Other than that just upload new products and it will not effect the rest of the DB.
CJ Internet Sales - Try a test, download a complete file from the DB, remove all the rows except the first row (Headers) and two products with out changing anything else and then up load that file back into Zen, this should give you a result of Two products updated. If this works it means your current upload file is incorrect in foramt some way so you must check that. Check you have 'EOREOR' on the end of each row.
jaskarn - Yes this would be possible, if you know php, if you don't have a look at cron jobs this may be able to do it for you. I don't use cron myself someone else maybe able to advise you better.
buyersparadise -
This will join column A1(sheet1) +'.jpg' and put it on sheet2

Category Problems...
I am still having one problem with my inventory that has been uploaded using EP. All the items upload fine now, however, my categories are messed up on the store. For example, when I uploaded Wyse Terminals, a new Terminals category, with a lone subcategory, Wyse Terminals was created. I have checked my upload files, and they seem to be setup correctly. Another weird thing, is the double categories do not show up in admin, so I have no idea how to even manually correct this.
If you want to see what I'm talking about, my website is www.centrixcs.com.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Sorry to be a pain, but I'm running into one other problem.
The width of the header_bg.jpg image has somehow gotten changed, and sticks out about 1/8th of inch past the right board. First, how the heck did I manage to change this? I have edited the width in both header.php and stylesheet.css, with no avail.
What I really want to do is just remove this image completely, and simply use my logo in header.php. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! - Hank
