Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
I have just tested on Safari and Opera following the above steps, still have not encountered the problem yet.
I hardly believe it can be a random problem, lets find a pattern to it. If there is a way you can reproduce the problem every time, let me know.
.

1. Clear all sessions related to your site
2. Visit your hompage (now all links have zenid attached)
3. Visit a product link
4. Click add to cart
5. Get redirected to shopping cart with the product inside
Also, try this:
Turn off link alias if it is on, then see if that happens again (if it does not, at least we can narrow down the cause of the problem)
Hmm.. I think I now know what is causing the problem.
Try this:
1) Clear the sessions related to my store
2) Visit my homepage with the url: http://gemsoul.com instead of http://www.gemsoul.com
3) Visit a product link
4) Add to cart
5) shopping cart shows empty
So most probably this error occurs when "www" is not prefixed in the url of the site.
Any way to correct this?

The solution is pretty simple, and should be done anyway (for seo sake)
just redirect all links without www to www. You will find such htaccess commands some where in this thread or on google.
However, I will also investigate this problem to see why it is causing such weird problem.

You can use the code suggested here:
http://kb.mediatemple.net/questions/....htaccess+file
This should fix the problem right away. It will help with seo as well, since it's not recommended to have links with both www and without www accessible.
BTW, can you pm me your configure.php (with no passwords in it), I want to confirm something

I also can't get ajax image swapper to work, although I have an older version of it (1.2).

So the 3+ platform that says (unstable) next to it is the one you are recommending when I ask for a stable platform?
Please tell me this isn't so and that I am instead clueless.
thx.
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Hi, can anyone tell me how to do really simple SEO?
I recently made a website for someone and need to do some simple search engine optimization. I've been a web editor for a big radio station for a while now but I've never had to do SEO before. Basically they just need to be able to find their site in google and yahoo... There is a "submit to search engine" thing on the web hosts site too.
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
I've installed this mod. It is the most complicated install of any other mod I have installed. I couldn't get it to work and I have decided that I don't care to get it to work any more.
I have uninstalled all the files. (and double checked) I now have a blank website. :censored: My admin is fine.
I need help uninstalling this. I'm done and I am so mad that my site is blank and I can't figure it out.
I've uploaded my backed up site and that didn't help. I'm trying to upload my exported database in the hopes that will help but I'm having problems with with my phpMyAdmin not allowing me to upload a database of the same name.
I appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you
Erin

Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Shame you had problems , it is quite straightforward and if you run into problems , The mod owner helps out quite a bit too.
I would check the .htaccess file in the root of your website. ( it may be hidden on some ftp programs ) or for testing purposes you could probably remove it.
