Check your setting in the admin area:

Configuration->Stock->Mark Product Out of Stock

This is where you enter the text that will show in the shopping cart if there is insufficient stock.

Try ordering this shirt in size small to see how it will look:

I just did what you said, and that was perfect ::tup , but it didnt completely solve my problem, because the "out of stock message" only appears when the product is TOTALLY out of stock, (but not when an specific size is out of stock).

For example, if someone tries to buy a size L tshirt, and theres no L tshirts in stock, (only M y S), that user wouldnt receive an "out of stock" message. That user would only receive the "out of stock" message when all the tshirts are out of stock (L=0 M=0 S=0).

Id love that, when people try to buy by an specific attribute, that is out of stock, they would receive that error message. AH, JUST EXACTLY LIKE IN YOUR SITE:

Size: XS, Color: Amarillo = 0 items (people simply cannot go beyond the shopping cart, but they do not receive an "out of stock" message).

Items in stock:
Size: S, Color: Amarillo = 15 items
Size: M, Color: Amarillo = 10 items
Size: L, Color: Amarillo = 13 items

Id love that, when people try to buy by an specific attribute, that is out of stock, they would receive that error message.

Your site is a perfect example. When you try ordering that shirt in size small, it appears an error. But if you try ordering another size, theres no problem.

Well - I read the first 5 or 6 pages, and the last 5 or 6 pages... here I my questions:

Does this contrib work on the current zen cart platform? (v 1. 2.7d)

Where can I get the package with all the bug fixes rolled in?

Why does the author put "email me @" in the readme file if they don't answer their emails? ;) I mean that light-heartedly. I didn't realize this thread was here and I downloaded from the downloads section and it didn't work at all - no errors, just absolutely no method for controlling it (missing admin files I think). Someone please get me up to speed... thanks!

Hi Steven,

Yes, the contribution does work on 1.2.7. I installed it a while back, so I'm fuzzy on the details, but I don't remember any problems with the install. You should see an option under the Catalog menu in the Admin for "Products with Attributes Stock". There you should see all your products with attributes listed; you go in and manually set the stock level for each attribute. Time consuming, but nicely set up.

I think there's a new version coming out soon, or perhaps it's already out? Anyway, there's an option a page or two back in this thread for showing the stock for each individual attribute on the product info page (e.g. Red [10 units], Black [6 units], ....).

One drawback is that attributes stock doesn't get restocked if e.g. an order is cancelled, but that seems minor (at least to me; I don't have many cancellations).

That's great, but is there a link to the package? The one in downloads isn't complete - there is no admin interface (must be missing file[s]).
