Hi thanks everyone, especially Jade!
Thanks for putting so much work for the community. I am sure that everyone received an answer here is as grateful as I am.
I will need some of your help too. As far as I can tell I have Cherry Zan installed fine. I can see the template in action. What I can't see is the tpl_search_header.php sidebox in my Column Boxes so I don't have a way to turn it on or off still I do have the header search box and it works. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
V.
Anyone know why firefox 3 RC2 kills the look of the cherry zen theme? it looks fine in all other browsers, just that firefox3 will be mainstream in a few weeks.
I installed Cherry Zen and then installed the Fast and Easy Checkout. When I click on confirm order and it goes to the page that says"Your order is being processed, please wait..." that page is all out of line. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is there a fix? Thank you in advance for your help.
HI im using cherry. My prob is as follows:
I wanted to change ..more info with the BUY NOW button which I did following this thread:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37084
It worked fine but it also replaced ..more info on ALL PRODUCTS, FEATURED PRODUCTS and NEW PRODUCTS pages too which already has a BUY NOW button. So I had to roll it back. Any way I can keep FEATURED PROD ...more info whilst changing ...more info on other products with attributes.
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with the subcategory links in my categories sidebox. The top link "Gate Automation" and it's subcategories work fine, but the rest of the subcategories don't work. It just opens a blank page, and this is what I get in the address bar "http://henil.co.za/main/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=10". I have no idea what's causing this. Please help!!!!!!!
Here is my url: http://www.henil.co.za.
I don't really know how to explain the problem, maybe it would be easier if you had a look at my site.
Thank you,
HJL
There is probably a <div> issue in that mod. Either they have one extra </div>, or one too few, or are missing the <div class="centerColumn"></div> that is supposed to go around the main content of the site. Please contact the designer of the mod and let them know there is an issue. It doesn't happen on other sites because Cherry Zen is a floating <div> design that will point out any flaws in divs by going screwy. I've seen it happen time and again with mods people add to cherry zen and apple zen. :hug:
Hi Jettrue,
Yep. I did modify that page. Well... I installed a mod that modified that page. I counted the number of <div and </div> in my tpl_login_default.php and there are 22 of each. Hmmm is there program, website, something that can check where the extra or missing </div> tag is???
Thanks

There's something wrong with your login page. Did you add text? my guess is an extra or a missing </div>
http://validator.w3.org/ will indeed tell you if there is a <div> issue, though it won't be able to accurately tell you EXACTLY where it is. I mean, it will TRY to tell you exactly where it is, but its not always accurate. Check there to find out if there IS INDEED a div issue, then dig further. Since it is only happening on that page, I'd count again, they can be tricky.
What's the link?
Hi I made a change to the side column widths and changed all the places specified in your readme instructions and now everything in the sideboxes does not line up properly. Everything seems to be pushed to the left too far. For example the Category heading now extends to the left beyond the grey sidebox. I am on 1.3.8 and my site is www.toyspastandpresent.com. Any idea what I did wrong?
thanks
Thanks, country charm. I added the define to the header.php.
But, I don't know how to do the tpl header. Where do I put the http:// link to my blog?
I'm afraid to mess with the php 'cause I know nothing about it.
I tried that and it places another nav bar below -- which would be fine if I had more than one page link there.
Ok I got most of this fixed. I had to change one more value in the css file - the padding-left to 185.
.outer {
padding-left: 185px; /* Same width as margin-left for the float-wrap div */
It looks good now on the home page or if I look at a product. When I go to the login screen or My Account the grey sidebox.gif is back to it's old size of 150px. I changed the one sidebox.gif to 170 as instructed in the readme file. Is there a 2nd one I have to resize?
Thanks
I installed your template and have successfully completed it. I am confused when I checked your sample on your site, how did you setup your page products, specials, featured, to show only 1 or 2 rows of product verses my store showing 5 rows of products?
Example: http://www.720moto.com/Store/
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rudy
Thank you,
HJL
Another question, since I installed the flyout menu the "home" and "login" links are on the top right of the page. How do I remove them? Also, the search bar is in the middle of the header and I would like to have it back on the right side of the header. Can you point me in the right direction?
thanks
Great Template , Just starting to customize it for a few projects... BUT
Does anyone else see the whole page refresh , and kind of close then open again when moving between pages, it does not happen when using FF just IE.
I'm pretty sure its not a Zen issue as my other zen sites on the same server don't seem to do this, and while I'm not blaming this template , as the fault probably lies with IE, but,
Does anyone any ideas what causes this issue , and if there is a workaround I could employ.
Thanks everyone
Hi!
If a customer goes to print a product page (File > Print) there is a problem, depending on whether they are using FF or IE.
in FF it seems the first page printed contains just the header and Page 2-- contains the page.
In IE the pages seem to printed all on top of one another.
You can see what I mean in these images:
http://www.lemongrassmedia.com/ie.jpg
Internet Explorer
http://www.lemongrassmedia.com/ff1.jpg
Firefox Page 1
http://www.lemongrassmedia.com/ff2.jpg
Firefox Page 2
Any idea on how to make the product screens print correctly from the start on all browsers?
Thanks
Ernie
I haven't implemented a print_stylesheet.css for my templates, so you can do this yourself. Basically, I would copy the main stylesheet for cherry zen, remove all of the images, basic things up a bit, but keep most of the main formatting css. Perhaps I will also add this to my next version.
Does this happen on my test site? www.cherryzen.jadetrue.com?
Yes it does , the screen disappears to your background blue , with the shadow edges showing at the top of the page , then reloads in full , when swapping between widgets and home page for example.
I don't know if its just me though I have tried it on mutiple PC's and ISP's !
It must be something to do with the way IE renders the page as either it doesnt happen on FF or its too quick for you to see.
Any pointers very welcome . Thanks for the reply.
CHANGE it to this:
Then in stylesheet.css, change this:Code:<li><a href="http://link-here.htm"><span>Link Title Here</span></a></li>
to this:Code:#navMain {
float:right;
width:750px;
line-height:normal;
}
Code:#navMain {
float:right;
width:100%;
line-height:normal;
}
Hi Jet,
Can you help me with this issue? I can't seem to find where to go to correct this.
My website is: http://www.720moto.com/Store/
As you can see on the upper right side of the page there is a HOME and Log In link and also the SEARCH bar is in the middle of the page, how do I move it to the left side of the page or remove it altogether?
Thanks,
Rudy
you should be looking in your tpl_header.php file , in your template/common folder.
looks like you have tried to move it to the right by placing it after the links for home page. also it looks like you have created a new div called navMainLinks , I may be wrong but I dont see this on my fresh install of Cherry_zen
the search part of that bar is
the default setup for that whole section is between the comments <!--bof-navigation display-->Code:<div id="navMainSearch">
<?php require(DIR_WS_MODULES . 'sideboxes/search_header.php'); ?>
</div>
and
<!--eof-navigation display-->
you could download a fresh copy of the template and copy out that part and paster it into your modified tpl_header to try and remedy things.
Hope that helps.
I like your template very much.
I'd like to know how to remove product description from the product listing. I'd also like to change the product price color and font size. I am very new in this code. Please tell me exactly where I have to adjust.
Here is my site http://www.omegagolfshop.com//index....ort=20a&page=2
Many thanks!
This is happening with Firefox too! Sometimes I also get vertical line (looks like a huge cursor) that shows up on the right side of the page. I customized the template so I thought it was something I had goofed up until I went to another site that uses the template and I encounters both issues. I would very much like to fix the page rendering issue - the other I can live with since it doesn't happen very often.
I don't have time to test this, but try removing the stylesheet_dropshadow.css from the server, then see if the issue still occurs. It may be due to the drop shadow around the site, if so, you'd have to choose between rendering issues and style.
You might also test removing this section of code:
/* IE only. Controls Width of Site and Main Content*/
* html #nw {
width:expression((d=document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat" ? document.documentElement : document.body) && (d.clientWidth > 1300? "1300px" : d.clientWidth > 1048? "80%" : d.clientWidth < 1048? "1000px" : "80%")); /* this prevents the site from getting smaller than 1000px or wider than 1300px in IE */
}
/* end IE only */
from the stylesheet.css and seeing if it goes away.
If either of those is not it, I don't have any good suggestions. I have no such issues, but I also have a fast internet connection. On slow connections, a lot of sites render funny.
CherryZen is a wonderful template. Its just that making it what you want may become difficult. I made some changes to the template relating to the image/logo, the top nav menu, its alignment, and a few other changes – which obviously you may or may not like. But ... as the template is free, I am ready to provide you with the css and some changed files from my site if you want.
http://www.bollywoodlollywood.ca/
I have made side boxes / column width 180px instead of standard 150. Had to deviate from the documentation for my top image to fit properly as the instructions did not exactly work for me. Specially, the site looked stupid in IE6. IE7 and Firefox are fine. So I removed some of the code for IE. Its now working fine.
Installed IH2 as per instructions, enlarged the Logo image to fit screen size of 1000px fixed, Navigation top menu has same bg/color and larger font, bg image has been adjusted to fit sideboxes, Product info display has been changed; also removed model/stock and weight.
I have a couple of problems though.
1. The search engines wont index the site
2. If you go to google and search for ‘bollywoodlollywood.ca’, you will find a link (were a lot of such links) that seem like a hack of some kind. I have removed all such pages/links from the folders, but they are still showing up in google. I have attached it below for reference.

your issues :
1. Search engines wont index your site :
This is not template specific , and should maybe directed in a different thread , but to give you a heads up , indexing on dynamic sites takes alot longer , get yourself a google account and use webmaster tools , you can submit an xml sitemap to them , plus you have the option of removing pages from the index.
my webstore is http://hiquatec.com and i'm using the cherry zen template and i love it except for one thing, the categories. Is there a way to upgrade the look of the categories to something like the drop for apple zen?
You can install the CSS drop menu found in the Downloads/Other Modules section (see my signature), which is the exact menu from apple zen, or if you want categories across the menu that drop down to subcategories, download the "Paul's Version", right below it.Quote:
Product Description for Listing: That is in the admin, under "configuration", "Product Listing".
For the listing price, you can add something like this (the color below is a deep red that matches the default color of the sidebox headers) to the stylesheet.css file. (includes/templates/cherry_zen/css/stylesheet.css)
.listingPrice {color:#A92D16;font-weight:bold;font-size:120%}
I agree with the above post, you should post this in the general forum. Those numbers and letters look like the code for the zenID, which suggests that you may need to change some settings in "Configuration", "sessions", specifically the "prevent spider sessions" should be set to TRUE. But again, this is not my area of expertise, so I suggest asking again in the general forum.
Hi all. This is my first post and I can't seem to find the answer to any of my questions. Hopefully I'm not missing something!
Has Cherry Zen been tested with Safari 3.1.1? I've installed everything and it seems to be working...With the exception of one pretty annoying thing:
At the top of my page above my header it says this:
Mac OS X °âATTR;šÉÿâ˜&˜&com.apple.quarantine0000;485ac08c;Safari;|com.apple.Safar iThis resource fork intentionally left blank ÿÿMac OS X 2°âATTR;šÉÿâ˜&˜&com.apple.quarantine0000;485ac08c;Safari;|com.apple.Safa riThis resource fork intentionally left blank ÿÿ
I also tested the site using Firefox on my laptop and basically receive the same thing.
Any ideas? Thanks much.
Hi!
I'm sure it's been answered before but I can't find it :shocking:
I have my logo and banner and jetween them and the top of the EZPages bar is white space - hoe do I make it so the logo/banner has no white space between it and the EZ Pages bar?
I thought it was padding somewhere and I tried changing a few but no luck.
Where in the CSS file should I be looking!
Thanks
Ernie
Congrats and the nice looking template jettrue, as well as the overwhelming amount of support you give!
I tried to read through before posting, but could only get so far ;)
My question is - I dont use sideboxes. I used the admin to turn them all off and to zero pixels, but the grey image is still there. Any help removing that so my pages will be the full width of the template?
I installed the CSS dropdown header. How can I stop it widening the entire site?
Well, its going to need to be a certain width for everything to fit, but my css drop down header mod should not widen cherry zen, since cherry zen is pretty wide. Could I see a link please?Quote:
http://hiquatec.com also the home and login link in the top right looks funny
sorry to keep bothering you. I also keep getting an "error on page".
Thank you Jade. I will try it now.
you might not get to see it yet I think I did too my updates today and knocked the server off-line (ipower) oh boy. it should be back up in a few.
I have change the EZPages Bar from Grey, I have also centered the text but I cannot get the text color to change.
can someone please direct me in changing the text color in the ezpagenav bar.

It's not because of the menu, its because you removed the divs for the drop shadow from includes/templates/cherry_zen/templates/common/tpl_header.php:Quote:
If you don't want the drop shadow, then you also have to remove the closing sections of the above:Code:<!-- divs for drop shadow -->
<div id="nw"><div id="ne"><div id="se"><div id="sw"><div id="n"><div id="s"><div id="w"><div id="e"><div id="main"><table id="workaround"><tbody><tr><td>
The login link looks funny because you have this:Code:<!--closting divs for drop shadow -->
</td></tr></tbody></table></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
If you want the home link hidden, you should have this:Code:<!--<li><a href="http://hiquatec.com/">Home</a></li>
<!--><a href="http://hiquatec.com/index.php?main_page=login">Log In</a>
-->
Code:
<!--<li><a href="http://hiquatec.com/">Home</a></li>-->
<a href="http://hiquatec.com/index.php?main_page=login">Log In</a>
what can i do about the width of the page?
I replied to you. When you fix the issue, the width will be corrected.Quote:

It looks like you got it fixed!Quote:
My paypal addy is written in the readme.txt file. :D
lol no its still not fixed i just took the home and log in out because i couldn't fix it i still want them in but i want the text to be on the top left and white then when i compare how everything looks in IE7 and mozilla text looks too big in IE7. how do i put the shadow in the dropdown bar?
Well, the tpl_header.php you pasted could not be the same one that was uploaded, since the header links weren't commented out. You made mistakes in the way you commented it out, that is why they were "looking funny". Lets first get that fixed before dealing with placement and size.Quote:
If you only want "Home and Login" and you want them as text links, not hover links as in my example site, you'll want to do this with the nav main links section:
As far as adding a shadow to the drop menu, I've never implemented that, and have no instructions for that.Code:<div id="navMainLinks">
<ul class="back">
<?php echo '<a href="' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . '">'; ?><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG; ?></a>
<a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_LOGIN, '', 'SSL'); ?>"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_LOGIN; ?></a>
</ul>
</div>
do you think it would be better if i started the process over again?
No, I think you can just paste what I posted for the header links, then we can go from there.Quote:

Hi
I have a problem on my site www.dejavurecords.co.uk
when i view it via IE I see that the main body extends to far to the right, as per the attachment, in Firefox it seems ok, any pointers?
Also the list of sample mp3's for the items, on one the list is correct and displays underneath each other on the other the list is not seperated by a 'return' and displays all together, again any pointers.
Thanks John
so what should i do next?
I love your template. However I am running into an issue with the template not floating in FireFox 3. Should this work the same in both IE and FireFox? How can I test this and determine what is causing this? :dontgetit
Also, I have replaced the main logo (logo.gif) and am not using a tagline or sales message. My logo or banner is about 140 x 1200 px and I cannot get the logo to left justify completely so I do not see a white background. I have attached an image for clarification. It doesn't happen on the right side of the screen. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. :clap:
Many Thanks,
Brandon
while Im not the creator of this template - I think I can still offer advise. ( hope Jet doesnt mind me butting in ! )
I think you will find the answer in the CSS - padding to the left 15px
Just as a side note , are you sure you want a banner image 1200px wide ?Code:#logo (line 162)
{
float: left;
padding-left: 15px;
text-align: center;
}
what happens for the people who dont have 1280+ screens ? there are still quite a few that dont ! also the whole template is fluid so grows and shrinks to a certain degree , unless you have changed the CSS to a fixed size .
its only my opinion after all , but I would think about maybe using two images that look like one , that have the sliding doors effect to some degree , or a repeatable image behind the logo. and overlay text.
Hope that points you in the right direction.
Ok, I upgraded a site to use the Cherry Zen template and the header navigation is all messes up in IE6. Can someone look at this and see what I am missing or doing wrong? This is a production site, so I need to fix it ASAP.

Ok, can you tell me what I am missing then? I thought I followed the directions that came with it. Thanks
I played with the padding and css and got it working. No missing files that I can tell.

I would say your templates/tpl_product_info_display.php is not correct ( maybe due to a corrupt upload)- the clue is
being displayed on the page. I would be tempted to reupload the file , or if you havent changed too much , re upload the files again.Code:>'; } else { echo ''; } ?>

Now I have run into a new issue that only occurs in FireFox - not IE. In FireFox there is a small gap between the top bar (with search and login info) and my logo. Why is this happening? I have attached a picture for your reference...
Thanks again!! :D
I have tried this recommendation:Quote:
I haven't been able to find an answer to this in the Cherry Zen thread so here goes.
I am stuck on a problem with the left sidebar getting pushed over into the right side bar while pushing the right sidebar content further down in my product info page.
here is the link to my site
on this page you can see the left content from the sidebar is in the right sidebar.
Any help would be appreciated.
using Zen Cart 1.3.8 with this theme.
I'm kind of holding off putting my header and other modifications until this problem disappears.
I loaded up the original file from the theme and this did nothing at all.Quote:
I would say your templates/tpl_product_info_display.php is not correct ( maybe due to a corrupt upload)- the clue is
Code:
/ >'; } else { echo ''; } ?> /
being displayed on the page. I would be tempted to reupload the file , or if you havent changed too much , re upload the files again.
Any other reason causing my template to be out of alignment in the product info page.
Anyone else have any recommendations?
Thank You
Colin,
I still need help, I do not have a solution for this problem yet.
My product info page i still out of whack. Not sure what to do right now.
I look at my files and i didnt see anything wrong. I tried to overwrite the file with the original and still nothing.
I am far from having this solved if you could still help me out i would appreciate it.

To find out if the template is causing your issue you can simply upload another template then switch to and see if the problem goes away.
I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall the template. I will give that a try and see if it works.
It is definitely the template. using the classic everything works fine and stays in alignment.
I re-uploaded the original and it clear up the template so both sidebars and sideboxes are aligned properly.
Now all product info and add to cart/QTY button are all align to the left underneath the product image. I'm assuming this can be cleared up with some css changes.
I will continue you work on it until i figure it out on my own or someone comes up with a fix for me quickly.
Here is where i am at on my site
I fixed the product name heading and got it aligned properly.
I am totally stuck on the add to cart/QTY box it is totally aligned to the left and behind the left column. What is causing this to happen? The css is ok, it seems.
If you can point me in the right direction, i don;t know where to look anymore.
