Re: Link Manager 3.0 Support Thread
BE AWARE!!!!
Lightbox 1.5 (or Slimbox) & Link Manager 3.0 DO NOT WORK TOGETHER!!!!
Many other posts have said the same thing, yet none have been answered (that I can see) in either support forum. The Zen Cart community needs an Add-On Incompatibility List somewhere. If I can't find one, I'm going to start one myself.
I've had Lightbox running smoothly for a while now. If the Link Manager 3.0 Layout Box is enabled, Lightbox will no longer work at all - larger image simply comes up in it's own browser window.
I have spent hours trying to determine why, as both add-ons have no files or database elements in common that I can see?? I suppose it is a conflicting variable somewhere that both use, but I'm a rather novice programmer.
I've seen this problem mentioned by other people in both the Lightbox/Slimbox and Link Manager support threads, but I don't see any resolution anywhere.
For now, I am forced to leave Link Manager turned off so that Lightbox will continue to work. Very sad, as I like both contributions very much.

Links Manager uses its own file set and images and does not touch any of the Zen Cart core files.
In particular, it doesn't use or reference any of the files used by either lightbox or slimbox.

Same problem here, Clyde. Can't make head nor tail out of this. Running 1.3.9b on www.chilloutfashions.com.au and had to disable the Links sidebox.
That is especially embarrassing as I have links exchanged with your site. However, we are selling products and not links. Having said that, I want both mods on our site
Since neither of these mods are using the same files, could there be a clash in the sql patches ??

Re: Link Manager 3.0 Support Thread
Temporary solution: :P
1. disable Links Sidebox
2. create EZ pages links
index.php?main_page=links_submit
index.php?main_page=links
and both mods are working :smartalec:
Re: Link Manager 3.0 Support Thread
Clyde,
Is there any chance you will at least look into the problem? Zen Lightbox has been downloaded over 32,000 times and is a favorite of among the ZC community, yet your Link Manager mod breaks it for anyone who tries to use both together. I really like your mod because it allows other affiliate link categories to be displayed on any page on their site via a sidebox. I'm trying to go the "grass roots" advertising route and your mod is a great addition to help people raise their native search engine rankings. I want to donate, but not if it breaks Lightbox.
Will you at least take a look at the incompatibility problem that has been identified by several people? We're not crazy, and the problem is repeatable and undeniable. Something is going on - a similar function name? a conflict somewhere? Hell, I've even seen where a missing semicolon can cause weirdness on this scale. I have several other sidebox mods on my site, and none of them cause the behavior Link Manager does.
All I want to know is that you're willing to take a look at the problem. I've asked Alex Clarke (the creator of Zen Lightbox) to do the same thing.
One thing to note. This incompatibility has been reported by people using early versions of Lightbox (called Slimbox) too, therefore the incompatibility may have to do with common "Mootools" files used by both??

Links manager does not use "mootools" or "jquery" nor does it reference any files used by lightbox (slimbox).
Links Manager uses its own file set and images and does not touch any of the Zen Cart core files.
Yes, will at least look into the problem.

Here's the fix;
open includes/modules/pages/popup_links_help
delete the following file:
jscript_main.php
-------
This fix will be included in the next update of Link Manager

Is there a mod that will create a sidebox where i can put exclusively external links to my other websites?
Thanks

That's the only section of Link Manager that I can think of that might cause the conflict.
But note that it is not called by the sidebox.
