Re: Fast and Easy Checkout
Thank you for being consistent and updating this mod.
I am on a Linux server with zencart 1.5.1
Besides many edits required in core code that I think I can do despite having edit_orders already installed, there are two things that concern me in reading over the install.
I do not want to mess with the css_js_loader. Can I install FEC without it?
I have Order Steps already installed. I think I can handle that, but any tips appreciated.
Re: Fast and Easy Checkout
I would highly recommend installing CSS/JS loader from experience this makes the website run much quicker and also makes CSS/JS only load on the pages that it is needed. The order steps shouldn't be needed. And some of those core edits are optional.
I would recommend you install this as it is packaged and with CSS/JS loader, as that will help your performance. However if you aren't familiar with CSS/JS Auto-loader I would recommend looking at the sample auto-loader to get an idea how to build one, along with the ones with Fast & Easy Checkout.

Though Numinix has recently submitted the CSS/JS Loader will there be any support on this forum for it?? Is there a support thread for it??
While I haven't looked at it lately, the problem with the CSS/JS Loader has always been the lack of support and documentation.. Perhaps the later has changed and the user documentation is better, but support is another matter.. will folks be reduced to GUESSING at answers when they have issues or is paid support their only option.. Would be nice to know as it seems that the CSS/JS Loader is required for a LOT of Numinix modules..
Now all that said, (and before anyone asks/suggests it) I do intend to take a second looksee at the CSS/JS Loader to see if it's gotten any easier to configure/use..

Numinix is working towards getting all of our free modules on the forum and providing support on the forum as well. The biggest issue has been with documentation issues with plugin submissions that they weren't in compliance. Fast & Easy Checkout and CSS/JS Loader were the first approved in months and now we are hoping to keep providing more plugins each week.

Re: Fast and Easy Checkout
I've carefully installed it without the js_loader.
The css on the checkout pages is weird. the input boxes for address look like stairs accross the page. I don't think that is intentional.

If I can't fix this and need to revert to my back up to get my shop up and live again, how does one go about just installing the COWA mod? That is no longer supported by the author but I see it is included in FEC. Also, I wonder why in the check out process with FEC, COWA comes as the last option for the customer at the bottom of the page?
Is it possible I missed a sql file? I see a folder with "previous sql updates" but does than mean there is a current one not in the folder I need to run?

Ummmmm. COWOA is still very much supported by ALL of it's current authors/collaborators.. (and the COWOA code is going to be a part of the Zen Cart v1.6 release..) Not sure why you believe otherwise..
