It shouldn't take that long at all. The stats won't appear right away as there is a "time delay" that Google updates its stats within. However, it SHOULD say "receiving data" immediately after you click "check status" and the verification is complete.
If you want me to look at it, send me a private message and I'd be happy to look.

Also, do you have any other mods running on the site? Not that it would matter too much, but it is good to know. Just shoot me a private message if you want me to look at it further. I'd be happy to.
Well, it appears my changing of that one line of code i mentioned above, has done it, as google is now accepting data from me.... thanks everyone...

I used Google Analytics on an older Zen 1.2.x version and it worked just fine. I installed analytics, conversion tracking, and e-commerce tracking manually (before the Simple Analytics mod was even available -- or I might have tried that route).
Anyhow, I listed out the manual steps and code to get it installed here for another user. It may help.

now i have it up, and have entered the 'goals' but i'm not sure if they're right...
also, it isn't showing customer's have completed orders, when we've had 5 via paypal since the analytics started saying it's accepting data...
is there a list of things i need to do, to get it working to show conversions all the way through the process?
thanks in advance,
bill

Bill,
Google Conversion Tracking works like this (taken directly from Google):
"It works by placing a cookie on a user's computer or mobile phone when he or she clicks on one of your AdWords ads"
The key is "clicks on an AdWords ad". If you are not running a Paid Search campaign, then Google Conversion tracking will not "work for you". In that case, you will want to make sure you setup Goal Tracking and e-commerce within Google Analytics in order to track conversions.
I am just completing a video tutorial on how to setup Goals tracking, Conversion tracking, Sales Funnels etc... I should have it up at my site in the coming week.
It may help you make sure you have everything in place.

wow, that sounds fantastic... i'd love to see it...
We ARE using google adwords for advertising, fyi...
I set up a goal, with the following steps:
1. http://www.designertoybox.com/index.php?main_page=index (Index Page)
2. http://www.designertoybox.com/index....=shopping_cart (added item to shopping cart)
3. https://www.designertoybox.com/index...ckout_shipping (checkout shipping)
4. https://www.designertoybox.com/index...eckout_payment (Checkout Shipping)
5. https://www.designertoybox.com/index...t_confirmation (checkout confirmation)
i didn't set up the 'ecommerce' as it needs additional coding it appears, and that scares me.
either way, i thank you for taking the time to help me out econcepts...

You can set it up any way you want, but I prefer to start with a product page and leave the home page out entirely. If you include the home page, your funnel analysis will be skewed (unless there is only "1 way" to the end result). So, what you have will give you results that may be hard to determine "where" you want to start making changes (to the site).
In the post where the audio / video tutorial will be on my site, I have listed the "preferred" method of creating a funnel (detailing the exact page url's and why you want to include them). Again, that is just about complete, and should be up in the next few days.

Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
Ok after a day and half I give up. I installed the mod, I re-installed the mod, I have done a manual code insertion, I viewed the source code and the tracking code was there and the account number is correct. I am running ZC 1.3.7 and I am running out of tylenol. Anyone have any ideas why google can't seem to verify the code is in place?

ok so I look at your page source and I see this:
Code:
<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
_uacct = "UA-1920684-1";
urchinTracker();
</script></div>
<!--bof- parse time display -->
<!--eof- parse time display -->
<!--bof- banner #6 display -->
<!--eof- banner #6 display -->
<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
_uacct = "UA-1920684-1";
urchinTracker();
</script><script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
_uacct="UA-XXXXXX-X";
urchinTracker();
</script>
now I don't know about you but I think you have inserted a bit of extra code in your template you may want to go check that out and report back......
you only need this once and the code will only insert it once so you have hard coded a few extras in there:
Code:
<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
_uacct = "UA-1920684-1";
urchinTracker();
</script>
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
Yeah I have been playing with it non-stop, however with the code in there once, twice, or three times it STILL doesnt register with google. I am working on removing the extras
