Re: Product Attribute Grid
Just installed this on a test site,
a freash install of ZC
fully patched
Stock by Attributes (only add-on)
but nothing happens!...
please advise... any ideas..
Re: Product Attribute Grid
I am using this mod 1.1 with ZC 1.3.8a. Also using Stock by Attributes 4.7 Kuroi. Both were working well for few years. I apologize for cross posting but I'm not sure which mod is in play with my prob.
New problem arose - stock level is adjusted on products WITHOUT attributes when transacted, but stock levels are not adjusted when it is a stock with attributes.
I recently housecleaned my permissions at request of server....folders are 0755, files 0644, and config files 0444.
Does this mod require a different permission setting somewhere in order to process the stock change?
Re: Product Attribute Grid
Great Mods I am well impressed at the amount of customisation available. I am using ZC1.3.8, with SBA and PAG both latest versions.
The grid works perfectly displaying the outofstock.gif when products aren't available. However when I add an additional radio button option, the outofstock.gif disappears and reverts back to the input box. This gives the impression that the item is in stock, even though if you go on to purchase it is tells you correctly that it isn't.
So the question is, has anybody managed to successfully get SBA and PAG to work with a grid and an additional separate option(s)???
Your help as ever is appreciated.:dontgetit
Re: Product Attribute Grid
You won't be able to use an additional field with the out of stock indicator. After all, if the radio field was for "green" or "blue", and you have 1000 blue, and no green ones left, would the attribute grid box show up, or show a X? In this senario, you are looking for an AJAX dynamic type of attriubte, with stock look up capabilities, which isn't available as yet with Zen Cart.
As for the stock question and file permissions, the coding doesn't use affect the stock levels, as this is still handled via the standard Zen stock control coding, or the Stock by Attribute module.
Finally - mcshane78 - have you installed this module? Did you follow the instructions which are included with the module, and "fairly fool-proof"?

Don't shoot the messenger.. But the first time I used this I forgot to use the new "grid" attribute type for my attributes.. Is it possible this is the issue for you??
Re: Product Attribute Grid
What are you expecting to happen? When you install it, you MUST follow the instructions to the letter.
- BACKUP!
- Install all files
- Navigate to a PRODUCT PAGE within the store, to initiate the auto-install process.
- Check in the admin, under Option Names to see if GRID is now an available option TYPE.
- Create new option name, and values
- Set up attributes for product
- Go to the store side and admire your handy work
Once you have followed the instructions, you should see exactly what you are looking to achieve.
- Finally, if you find this module an asset to your store, why not send a little something to our PayPal account, so that we can continue to develop this module? We aren't part of the Zen Cart team, and develop these modules at our own cost.
