Re: How can I copy attributes AND their prices to multiple products / categories?
In the Attributes Controller ... *after* a Product has Attributes added to it ... there will be buttons for:
Quote:
Copy
PRODUCT
Copy
CATEGORY
Re: How can I copy attributes AND their prices to multiple products / categories?
I figured it out! :) you have to goto
admin - categories/products - click on category product is in - then it will show a listing of the products. On the product you have already set the attributes click on the small 'A' on the right hand side.
It will give you an option to copy all attributes to another product :)

Yes ... that is another way to get to the Attributes Controller ... thanks for the update that you located it ...
Re: How can I copy attributes AND their prices to multiple products / categories?
I have attributes that I need to copy to various other products. Using the "Copy by product" button only allows me to copy to a single 'other' product. Is there a way to be able to multi select products within the "copy by product" window. it would really speed things up for me. Thanks for your help - hope this makes sense!
Re: How can I copy attributes AND their prices to multiple products / categories?
At this time, you can copy Attributes from 1 Product to either another Product or to a Category of Products ... there isn't a method to pick and choose multiple Products to copy the Attributes to ...
Re: How can I copy attributes AND their prices to multiple products / categories?
Thanks for your quick reply Ajeh. Maybe sometime in future this might be added?.
Anyway, I worked around it by adding size categories and separating the products by size, then I could use the 'copy by category' which is considerably quicker than using 'copy by product'
Re: How can I copy attributes AND their prices to multiple products / categories?
I have been watching this thread for anything new... but. I am looking for the ability to copy attributes to a parent category. The add-on "Copy attributes to store" works to copy to everything but not just to one main or Parent Category. The original "Copy Attributes to Category" does not copy to the parent Category but just to the very bottom sub category. I am a photographer and would like to be able to change attributes at any level (ie.. (MAIN CATEGORY)Portraits, (SUB CATEGORY) Children, (SUB OF SUB) Bonners, Billy Adams"
I guess what I am asking is something the between the add-on of Change Attributes Store and the stock Copy Attributes to Category. Does anything exist? Or would it be easy to edit the original Attributes Controller to include the upper sub categories and or the parents?

To change prices for an item, should I go to Option Name, type in Stem 1, then go to Option Price, type in the price for 1 stem; then do the same for Stem 2, type in the price for 2 stems? I don't get it and can't seem to find the answer as to pricing.
Thanks.:censored:
To have a base price for the item, that is added on the product page (admin/catalog/product). Then say you have a selection of red green and blue, but blue costs more. You would add that price to the attribute (admin/catalog/attribute controller). There is a + already in there, to add the additional cost. So the if red and green are $5, the product page would show $5 and the blue costs $5.50, so the blue attribute would be +$.50.
You can also take out the + from the attribute and the base price from the product page, just add a price to each attribute. Like my shop has sew-on or Velcro badges, the attribute shows $2.50 for sew-on and $3.00 for Velcro, and nothing in the product. This will then display the price in the drop down menu vs. $2.50 base and +$.50 for Velcro.
Either way works, you just have to keep track of how many attributes have prices attached to them. You might be getting double prices if the product has a base price and the attribute has a price too. If all of your items are the same price, you only need to add the price to the product page and not the attributes. The same goes if you have multiple choices of attributes (red, green, blue / solid, liquid, gas, etc.)
Hope that wasn't too confusing.
