I've been using this addon for a while now and rely on it for tax purposes. I've just realised that the total for 'Non taxed Sales' does not include the postage on those sales, which is also non taxed. The postage on most of my non taxed sales is very high as they are export sales so by not taking it into account I'm paying tax on money that I shouldnt be paying tax on. Is there a way to set things up so the postage on non taxed orders is included in the total of the 'Non Taxed Sales' column?

Yes, I do have record of every order's tax collected with 3 digit cents.
So, for a particular order, when clicking on the link under tax collected, I have $18.609, and under invoice for the same order, the tax was rounded off to $18.61
What do I need to do in order to make sure the tax collected is the same as Paypal?

After looking and testing I can only suggest this as the issue:
PayPal applies tax to each line-item individually this in turn could change what the paypal report states. Because Monthly Sales and Tax Summary Report looks at it as one taxable order amount.
At this point I am unable to find away to match the two reports. In all fairness I could be missing something but dam I can't find it.

I am using the Optional Shipping Insurance Module with my cart. When I do use this monthly report module the numbers weren't adding up properly. What I find is that the report takes my coupons and also adds the shipping insurance to the Gift Voucher field. Really it would be ideal to have a seperate field showing the shipping insurance charges but otherwise if it just added the insurance charge to the regular shipping field that would work too. The shipping insurance is adding a field under orders_total called ot_insurance. Does anyone know how I could exclude that field from being added in with the vouchers and possible add that total to the shipping charge field?

We are finding the same issue - the taxes collected in this mod are based on the full retail price not the price charged with the discount coupon (etc). As stated it does not match the pop up box.Quote:

Uh-oh! The plugin is performing database requests by issuing direct mysql_ functions against a mysqli_ database. As I use this plugin on one of my sites, I'll give it a look over the next couple of days and see what I can do to bring it into the ZC v1.5.3 environment.
I've submitted v1.5.0 to the plugins (http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=734) for approval:
- Converted to use $db for SQL actions, as preventative measure for PHP 5.5 deprecation of mysql_* functions
- Converted explicit <input type="hidden" ...> to zen_draw_hidden_field calls
- Converted explicit <form ...> to zen_draw_form calls
- Corrected PHP warning on CSV download (file name issue)
- Converted use of $_SERVER variables to zen-cart functions
- Moved all language phrases to the language file
- Converted to use Zen Cart rounding function
- Added formatting strings for title of popup tax details title
- Added configuration switch to control whether or not S/H charges are added into the store's taxed/untaxed totals
- PHP 5.4-ready (remove/change ereg* calls)
- Use DEFAULT_CURRENCY decimal places for number_format
- Added separate columns for Gift Vouchers and Coupons; non-core Order Totals summed in "Other" column
v1.5.0 is now available for download in the Plugins section.
I noticed the current version group "Shipping& Handling" with Untaxed Total or Taxed Total. The older version had "Shipping& Handling" in a separate column.
How do I create a separate column for "Shipping& Handling" on the current version.
Please advise. I'm currently using zencart v1.5.3 and monthly_sales v1.5.0 2014/07/23

@Huang, why not post in Twitch's forum for the base cost mod and ask him to add it as an option to one of the sales reports. (It could be this one or another one.)

FWIW, that state filter is part of the v1.5.3 update for the plugin (which pretty much wiped out the changes that I made for v1.5.0 of the plugin). Hopefully, the plugin updater will chime in and correct the issue that's been created.

I am using 1.54, and thought the installation was quite straight forward and simple, upload into admin folder... But when I go to reports>monthly Sales the list is "blank". I can't find a resolution to this problem, did I miss it somewhere? I'm having the same issue with group pricing. My group discount shows up in the Gift Vouchers column (which is fine) but the sales tax is calculated on the total sale without the discount.

I've just installed this plugin. Thanks to all who have worked on it. What I would like to do is see sales via country. From what I read, this plugin should do that, but in the list (view image) what I get is towns / counties / states etc and not countries. Is it possible to view sales via country with this plugin?

@swguy if you are asking about a shared hosting environment, and the settings of a global config for mysql, we are now getting beyond the resources i have available to test and check. as well as the energy.
i suppose you bring up an interesting point. hard to imagine a host having different settings for different versions.... but no doubt possible/probable. and pretty easy to tell the host that they have changed the settings across versions.
that said, i am sure in a shared hosting environment that is properly setup, one could change the config to only affect your account as opposed to the whole server. similar to having one's own php config, i'm positive one could globally change mysql mode configs to ONLY affect their account.... but don't quote me on it...

Hello (V1.5.5),
I made a mistake and uploaded [monthly_sales_report-master-patched] folder to admin.
After I realized it, I deleted it using C-Panel File manager. So, everything should be removed.
Then I uploaded contents from [YOUR_ADMIN] folder to admin.
For some reason I have now twice "Monthly Report" menu in admin:

Is it possible to remove redundant menu, or just leave it along?

Looks like the admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/stats_monthly_sales.php is the culprit.
It checks to see if the stats_monthly_sales page key exists and adds the extra report menu item. It apparently does not check to see if the specific menu item (FILENAME_STATS_MONTHLY_SALES) already exists. Thus your second menu item is registered in the admin_pages table of the database.
You can use the phpMyAdmin to search the table for FILENAME_STATS_MONTHLY_SALES and delete one of the entries. That should fix it.

All other files were. Is it permission issue?

Looks like a bigger question as they both should be sort 17 if it was actually a duplicate. Instead, it looks like you have another program (mod) loaded that uses the same menu name.
Never said the file was not copied. I thought the file had created a duplicate entry. Now I see you have two mods loaded.
No files need to be copied.
As to a fix....
Do both the menu items show a result?
When you click on the entries in the menu, is either result correct, is either incorrect, are both incorrect, or are both correct outputs?
Using the Developer's Tool Kit, search for the define of FILENAME_STATS_MONTHLY_SALES. There should be two. Post the names of the two files with the define.

Both admin files are correct. One is the define of the variable and the other places the variable on the report page. HOWEVER>> If you searched for FILENAME_STATS_MONTHLY_SALES, you should have come up with 6 times it shows up. Only one of those should have been the define in admin/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/stats_monthly_sales.php (which you said you found).
Your response makes me ask if you saw the other five places the variable is used in the mod.
And, the one question I left out before was:
Do the two menu entries bring up the same page? IOW, does it make no difference which item you click on? Or, does one bring up different information than the other.
If they both bring up the same page, you probably have a holdover from an earlier mod. And that brings us back to the five times the variable should have shown up without the define.
If --
- Both menu items bring up the same data AND
- You have five variable locations and 1 define when searching with Developers Tool
Then, I'd delete the item in the table that has the sort_order of 1000.
If they don't bring up the same data, we'll need to look further.

I do not see any different permission on these folders compare to others.
Both menus when clicked return absolutely the same result.
I am afraid to delete the line 1000 due to my illiteracy.
But 2 menus, if there is no harm to other areas, will not stop me sleeping at night.
If there is no damage, may be we should stay as is (?):smile:
I experimented a little and methodically deleted all files which came with this module.
Both menus disappeared.
After uploading all files again they appeared again.

So, looks like Zen Cart does not see some files.
This happens because the leftover MonthlyStats has no define without the files, AND nothing to fire a debug file because no file is asking to use the variable. When the files are loaded back, the define defines that variable. The other files fulfill the NEED by asking for the variable.Quote:

Figured it was a leftover from the start, but you always want to be careful when the database is in play.

Apparently, most of those occurrences work just fine. It's only when selecting a particular state, city, or country that the unfound delivery_state breaks the operation.
I know what information I need (delivery_state) and I know which table it needs to come from (orders) but I can't figure out how to change "o.delivery_state LIKE '" to get the info from the correct table.
Here's an opportunity to teach me to fish beyond just baiting the hook and throwing it in the water.

This data is product based I assume, right? Since Monthly Sales and Tax Summary Report is order based, you might want to look at Sales Report or another mod that does product based breakdown. (Unless you can aggregate the vendor data in a way that makes sense per order.)
I seem to have done something stupid.
This plugin has been working well for years but last week I no longer had the Admin->Reports>Monthly Sales.
I uploaded the plugin files again, no change.
There is nothing in my logs.
The entry in DB table admin_pages looks OK, see screenshot.
I must have changed something but I have no idea what? I test changes in my test site before uploading and my test site monthly sales is still working OK.
The only recent change is I added an EAN coumn to the DB table products.
Admin menu options don't show if the language-defines are missing.
Check whether you've deleted its language file. Or, for that matter, check that you haven't deleted a bunch of other stuff too.

Are you hosting on PLESK? It includes Linux and a windows-based system. Make sure your are on Linux then check with PLESK. Seems to be a recurring problem.

I'm gonna make a WAG here and say you're not going to get it fixed till you click on that instruction or contact Plesk.

You posted a problem. Admittedly after drByte fixed the other problem by realizing you were using the wrong admin.
Then, you posted the "can't get a CSV" problem. It was great that you posted the code for the error.
This (and one other) volunteer took the time to look up a solution. It was a very simple cut and paste of the problem into google that led us to a solution.
