Delete it ... it was not meant to be added to the ZIP file ...
I currently use this add-on which is great for copying multiple products to individual categories.
I also use xmasscopy which is great for copying individual products to multiple categories.
What would be ideal is to have this add-on able to copy to multiple categories.
I'm prepared to venture into the code for this, but wanted to make sure that it's feasible. Assuming it is then some tips on where to start would be appreciated.

I've installed this and I'm 90% there but I've run into a problem at the confirm stage. My site in v150 and I've followed the instructions in the README file taking into account the version.
The files are uploaded and have been edited. The SQL patch is applied. The option displays in the Catalog menu and I can use the multi_product_copy.php to find the products ready for moving i.e. Preview works fine and there they all are pre-checkmarked, but when I click the confirm button I get a blank screen.
So multi_product_copy.php?action=find works but multi_product_copy.php?action=confirm doesn't
What do you suggest I check?
Update: Copy as Linked Products works fine, Move Products to another Category is the one that creates a blank.Quote:

I understand the difficulty of what I am asking, but since it's available to individual products (multi-category linking) I though it might be available for categories to do the same. That is have one category link directly to another category (the master) and all it's products.

That file is corrupted ...
So it is either bad on the server or some how damaged when you grabbed it ...
If you view your good copy of that file that is on your computer ...
1 How do you view/edit your files
2 What size is that file on your computer
3 what size is that file on the server
4 If you open that file, how many lines are in it
So I dug through my computer...and I don't have a good copy of that file anywhere. I do use Notepad++ to view and edit files right now.Quote:

What I'm trying to accomplish:
I paid someone to launch my site and import some products. After some research I probably could have done it myself and saved the $$ but what really gave me the confidence was when I downloaded my products from Easy Populate and got the layout for import (v_products_model, v_status, etc).
I have recently updated my site with 3,000 products into a category I named "Uncategorized Items". Some of these are "on" (1), most are "off" (0). With some research I found I could write an SQL to turn all (0) to (1) which would save me tons of time as I was doing these 1 by 1 in ZenCart. I have not put in that script yet because when I opened the SQL there were warning signs about backing up my server and that made me a bit uneasy so I researched. I have since backed up my server with a tool from my hosting company (JustHost).
I will try the script after I'm done figuring out this Multi Product Mod (or something better that is recommended).
Back to Multi Product Mod:
I need to be able to add multiple products to one category as streamlined as possible and believe this is the tool I need.
I installed the earlier version and you saw the outcome. My last post shows my steps and what happened (I may delete that post and keep this one to avoid confusion). Here it is again to keep in one post:

When I bought the "package" of starting this online business, I had no idea that I had to become a Software Programmer. This part wasn't mentioned. I don't mind learning new skills, at all. I only wish I would have been told that I would have to learn this side of online retails sales so I could have properly measured my short term goals. Ok, I have never used PHPMyAdmin and tried to sign in to it but couldn't.. not realizing I had to use the original password set by the company that put up my site. I got in. I started clicking around in PHPMyAdmin, loaded my Database. I tried reinstalling the SQL file from the zip and got the error that MoveCopyDelete already existed. I looked for it, found it and noticed that in the "Language Key" column it says "BOX_CATALOG_MULTICOPY".
This lead me to go back to my zcadmin and look under the "Catalog" tab and guess what....there it is.
I've been looking under the "Tools" tab for this the entire time. I clicked on it and it opened.
Now to see if it works.
It seems to be working. I am moving a few thousand items from one category to different categories throughout my site. So far I've been getting an Error (Timed Out) when I was trying to move hundreds at a time. I got up to 50 items without a problem then started getting the time out error with just a few items.
I found that I could just reload the page and click on "resubmit info" (something like that) and it would continue with the process and move the items. I have not needed to do more than 50 items with this new "bypass" I am using of reloading the page but just want you to know that time out error is there.
So far moving items is the only need I have for this mod at the moment. I'll update if anything else comes up.
I want to thank everyone that responded and made suggestions to getting this resolved.

Everything works fine ... except ... it only ever copies (using duplicate option) just one product!
the search aspect finds, say, 10 products.
they all have their tick box checked.
then only one product is copied to another category.
i've tried switching off copying attirbutes etc, makes no difference.
any thoughts?

I am watching with baited breath. I'm usually pretty good about figuring out how to get something to work if it's for the same version of Zen I'm on... Absolute bunk at rebuilding something from the top down. Yeah. Obviously I'm not going to just throw it into our mainline server as it is, but it does make me happy to be able to see 20+ products disappear from the catalog at the press of a single button (minus all the radio buttons to check off), even if it is just the test server.
Apart from bugs, please also post in Github any improvements you think could be added.
If you do a lot of multiple stuff, you may also benefit from a major mod I have for products to categories.

Multiple Duplication/with specials and featured settings.
As part of a complete revision of this mod, I find that this aspect cannot have worked....unless someone can tell me it did/does?
Product duplication uses an included module: copy_product_confirm.php, which duplicates a product and optionally duplicates metatags, attributes, linked categories and quantity discounts.
At the end of this script it redirects to the product-category listing and so never returns to this mod to
a) add the specials and featured settings to the new product
b) continue duplicating more products.
If anyone has this aspect working, please confirm with what version of zen cart.
