I'm a bit confused when it comes to adding a button so that the customer can add somthing to their list from the product's template.
I'd like to have the button next to (or near) the Add to Cart button.
What template do I modify?

I am not a programmer, and please correct me if Im wrong:
This codeplaced on a tpl_un_wishlists_default.php page will create a back button. doh.....finally found a problem....when a customer searches for another customers wishlist and finds it and that wishlist is more than one page...they can not move from page one to any of the other pages, they are sent back to the 'search for wishlist' page.......I'm stumped
I am using ZC 1.3.7 and have two questions:
-How do I turn off the images?
-When using it with 1.2.6 the wishlist had checkboxes for the customer to select and then click the add to cart button to add all the selected items. How do I get those checkboxes back?

I have followed the directions provided in the second post for installing but am having problems. When you click on the "Add to Wishlist" button, you are taken to a blank page (full file name is index.php?main_page=un_wishlist&action=un_add_wishlist&products_id=2).
This is a fresh install of 1.3.7 on a test site (regular LAMP server). The ip address is 72.4.168.230 and you can log in as [email protected] password testerguy. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I'm having the same problem after a fresh install on 1.3.7. For now I've just discarded it :( till someone can possibly fix it or make it compatable with the newest version .
It works perfectly for me on a brand new install.
Check to make sure you are following instructions precisely.
I am concerned about my customers privacy.
Does anyone know:
1. How to make the wishlist default to "private" instead of "public" when a customer creates a wishlist?
2. How to block/not display the name of the city that a customer lives in, and name also? when their wishlist is public?
When i view customers Wishlists through Admin
Extras --> wishlists --> Customers wishlist
the prices don't show up, and i can't figure out why

I've successfully installed this module, however my sidebox is missing the background (white) and the boarder around the edges and the bottom? Any idea what I do to fix this? Thanks

I think there is a bug
My customers are unable to set their wishlists as private or public
this is linked to this variable
which is supposed to either allow or disallow customers from having multiple wishlistsCode:

If it is set to true, (ie the customer can have multiple wishlists)
the customer can click on the "manage my wishlists" link and they get the option to set their wishlists as Public or private
If it is set to false, (ie the customer is limited to one wishlist)
There is no manage my wishlist button, so the customer doesn't get the option to set their wishlist as private
OK I have solved my problem, of customers being unable to make their wishlists public/private
here is my solution

This problem will only effect you if you have limited your customers to only one wishlist each
As usual Back all effected files up first, and i make no guarantees, it works for me, but it may not work for you

No one can ever seem to answer this question so I am reposting it to bump it up:
When I try to email a friend (who has an HTML email client), the email message that I get just says:
Joe Blow's Wish List at MJM magic
$EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML
...no links or list or anything. When I sent the same wishlist to a text only email client, it works fine.
I have tried to change my Admin->Email Options->Email Admin Format from HTML to Text, but that didn't do anything.
Any idea why the emails only contain the string "$EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML" and nothing else? Is there a way to have the WishList module ONLY SEND IN TEXT AND NOT HTML? We are running ZenCart 1.3.7.
[FONT=monospace]Jeff...this is working fine for me. I attached a screenshot of the begininngs of my email options. Dev team recommends using PHP as the transport. Not sure if that is doing it, or one of the other settings.
Also, give me some time to look through the files as I thought I remember having the problem at one time also.

The change is near the end where the array statement begins. This should do it, if so, please post back so everyone has the fix.

Sure....go to my site in my signature below. Log in with an email of [email protected], PW of 123456.
Once you log in, there is a link in the green header to go into the wishlist. Also when in an item page, there are also links by the title of the product, and also in the Add to Cart box to add products to the wishlist. There are some items already added in the test account list.

This contrib is from the zen 1.2x days and is no longer being modified or supported. Unless some individual wants to take ownership and modify. I believe the only support is via this thread.
Also, I believe in coming versions of Zen, the dev team has promised a built-in wishlist.

Ok, but doing a compare it is just fixes for 1.3.7. No new functionality.
It includes the fix on page one of this thread by saiyan, and the email fix that Jeff_Nash requested which I provided on the previous page, plus a couple of small .php changes.
I would try to get in touch with Mr. Unevolution and see if he can provide what you need.
All, titangen's link to v0.41 is from the original author and provides the fixes for 1.3.7 discussed in this post for the HTML Email problem, and the fix for the application_top.php file, which is unneeded. unevolution has modified the readme to reflect the elimination of the application_top.php change, and includes saiyan's fix. Table information remains the same.
Can anyone help me figure this out? When emailing a wishlist to a friend the "from" name is my master email address at my host's web address and not from the owner of the wishlist. Any ideas what I need to change? The email is in html.
When I run this on my local test site through xampp the "from" field is correct and it's as a text email. I don't know why it wouldn't be the same on the live remote server.

That one small mod would probably make it more of a "Registry" then a wish list. However that is the functionality I am after.

Good timing...on that question.
I've done alot of customizing to my store and mods that i find here.
This mod the wishlist I have turned into a watchlist. The very question of a item still being available after someone purchased it arose in my store when a item was still showing the add to cart button and then telling users the item was no longer available, really upset some people. So I had to create a work around which I think is working but I could use some testers to verify.

The Watch List link is at the top next to Log Off. Some items should show as sold out.
Add some more items to the Watch List the add them to the shopping cart and checkout - use check or money order - after checkout check your watch list....do they still show a add to cart button or show sold out..

the wishlist have some problems.
1. when someone buy from the list the object dosn't leave the list.
2. if i buy form bob's list in the admin appear my order and not one order for bob.
3. the list need to have a expire date.
these are the 3 primary problems for wishlist.
This contribution is very usefull if these 3 bugs are solved.

I have this installed and working on 1.3.8a, but I'm having one little issue with the comments showing in Firefox for compact mode.
When you search for a list, it displays fine. When you're viewing your own list and switch it to compact, the comments disappear and the table is thrown off- empty space at the end of the heading row and empty space at the beginning of the product rows. Other than that, once I went through and applied all the fixes, it seems to work fine so far.

My issue is the attributes are not added to the products when a customer chooses to add to wishlist. I want the user to be forced to select attributes like it does when you click add to cart.
I've read all the different wishlist threads and no one shares their success. I've also been to some of the sites and registered and the attributes are working perfect, so I know this is possible, but anyone willing to share the code/procedure, and lend a hand to a fellow zenner. By the way I am a newbie so be gentle please.

Can you point out a Zen Cart site using this particular mod that has the attributes included in the wishlist. As far as I know it was not written with attributes in mind so I would be interested to see this working.

I tried and failed to install the Wishlists 0.5 on a Zencart v1.3.9d site. The sidebox showed up OK but clicking on "Add to Wishlist" brings up a blank page.

I've got it working in 1.3.9f - sort of. I can get the sidebox to work, but I'd much rather have the button on each product page. So far no luck with that. :smile:

Yes I did checkout that thread. It helped with resizing the pictures that were being shown in the wishlist so that's good.
However, I still don't see anything on how I can adjust the center box.
I'm having the same issue as joyjoy. I've searched the entire download folder for a place to change the width of the center box but I'm not coming up with anything. It's too wide or there's a missing div tag or something-- it's pushing my right sideboxes down below....
Im also having this issue with renaming the Default wishlist. I looked at the code and there A LOT of references to Default so it must be hard coded. Is it worth the hassle to find/replace each reference to that.. I dont know...Quote:

But the center box...it's ONLY on the wishlist. It's too wide. I'm using both the right and left column on my page.

Joy, which css file did you edit to correct it? I tried 2 or 3 different css files I thought might cover it but it had no effect.

I have my products set up to show price "starting at" only when there are attributes. In my wishlist, "starting at" shows up on every product, attributes or not. Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks
The current version of WishList does not include any Attributes. Since the module is no longer maintained, you would probably have to pay someone to code it for Attributes.
Hmm, I don't want to code it for attributes. I just want to remove the "starting at" text. Is that possible?
The 'starting at' text is coming from Zen Cart. You would have to use the Developers Toolkit though to find which file contains the text so you can alter/remove it.
how do you make the compact mode default? the link is broken several pages back
I added my table prefix to the lines mentioned in the install.txt. Ran the sql and when I went to admin/wishlist, it coudn't find the table. I checked and they were there. only they had an extra prefix. I dropped those tables and ran the sql without the prefix added. Still couldn't find it. Any clues?

jar3300 - I assume you got it figured out by now but I figured I would post in case anyone else is wondering the same thing.
When installing in v1.3.9, I found that I needed to make the following changes.
Table Names
- no need to add your prefix to the SQL script, just run the script as it is.
- in /includes/extra_datafiles/un_database_tables.php, prefix the table names with DB_PREFIX so that it ends up looking like the following:

If you want the default list to be called anything other than "Default" (in my case, I went with "My Wish List"), it's a very simple change.
- in /includes/classes/un_wishlist.class.php search for function _createDefaultWishList()
- enter your preferred list name in place of 'Default' in the first line in this function. For example:

This is caused because the "Add to wishlist" button has been displayed as a submit button rather than just a regular image. Once again, it's a very simple fix.
- in /includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php search for bof Wishlist button
- near the end of the following line, replace zen_image_submit with zen_image_button so you will end up with something similar to the following:

Image Size
If you would prefer the Wish List preview images to be displayed at a size other than their full size:
- in /includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php search for <!-- product data -->
- two lines below you will see a call to the zen_image function with two empty parameters (ie '','', )
- these parameters are for width and height so if you enter a value (or configuration constant such as MEDIUM_IMAGE_WIDTH) for one or both of these parameters, your image will be resized appropriately.
- repeat for /includes/templates/template_default/un_wishlist_find/tpl_un_wishlist_find_default.php

Hmm... I've just had a look at the file I said to change and it doesn't look right at all. Let me double-check that I had the right filename listed...
I don't have a button to be able to edit my original post (since it was only my 2nd post on the forum) but it looks like I have incorrect information there. You do not need to modify the tpl_product_info_display.php file as it is already doing the check correctly. Instead, just edit /includes/templates/template_default/un_wishlist_find/tpl_un_wishlist_find_default.php

Although I *thought* I had triple-checked my instructions before posting, it looks like I missed another piece of information (sorry about that!).
You need to also add the DB_PREFIX to your admin un_database_tables.php file:
- in /admin/includes/extra_datafiles/un_database_tables.php, prefix the table names with DB_PREFIX so that it ends up looking like the following:

Regarding seeing the WishList in the page details, I noticed that you are using a custom/modified template for your page (with an 'Ask us about this item' button). Since this is the case, modify your custom tpl_product_info_display.php file to include the following code wherever you want the wishlist button to appear

Regarding the admin, my suggestion is to check for any typos (or incorrect quotes) in the un_database_tables.php file. The only change should have been to add DB_PREFIX . before the current filename. As a temporary test, you could even put in the exact database name instead e.g. define('UN_TABLE_WISHLISTS', 'zen_un_wishlists'); and see if that made any difference.
Side Issue - I created a user on your site so that I could confirm that the wishlist wasn't being shown when logged in. When I submitted the page, it came back with a message about having to enter a state so I did that and re-submitted and ended up at a blank page. I clicked back twice and found that I was logged in.
nagelkruid - Hmm... perhaps you have a custom template or an additional file that needs to be modified. My suggestion is to do a search to see whether there are any other files that contain TEXT_BASE_PRICE. If so, check each one to ensure that it has something like (various conditions) ? TEXT_BASE_PRICE : '' around it rather than just TEXT_BASE_PRICE on it's own. Alternatively, I've found in the past that when I have used the "My Network Places" option for connecting to my server and copying files back and forth from my PC, that the web server hasn't recognised them as being modified so still serves the cached version. If I then open the same file on the server (eg using the 'Edit Code' option from the 'File Manager' through cPanel) and save it again, it all works fine. Rather odd but perhaps the files need to be "touched".

I used WinMerge and looked at both the current file and both lines of code in this thread and they are identical. It appears that this is good if it is working for you and others so the error is coming from somewhere else???

Jim, my suggestion would be to first get the wish list button added to your product info page (and/or activate the sidebox) so that you can create a wish list in case the error is being caused by a message being echoed (for example) when the page is being created but there are no entries in the wish list tables.
nagelkruid - are you able to access your Wishlist admin page (under Extras -> Wishlists) or do you also get an error similar to Jim's?
Actually, I have one more suggestion... do you have the Admin Profiles mod installed? If so, go to Tools -> Admin Settings and click the P next to your admin user and ensure that both "un wishlist" and "un wishlists" are both ticked in the bottom section of the page before clicking "Save Changes".
I installed the debug utility and tested the account creation. It appears to be related to the un_database_tables.php. Here are the errors.Quote:

Looking at the error, it is referring to line 7 of the file and since there are only 7 lines in the file, I was wondering if there is anything (e.g spaces or carriage returns) after the closing php marker "?>". If so, that will be causing the error.
This error probably has less to do with this module than a slight error made when making the edits needed to get this module working for you.. (Black space is the usual culprit as SBP pointed out) The Zen Cart FAQs are a RICH source of information..

Oops, Sorry Jim. That one is my fault :blush: Instead of copying the corrected code for your tpl_product_info_display.php file, I gave you the original code (which has the bug in it).
Locate the text that you added to the tpl_product_info_display.php file and replace the zen_image_submit call with zen_image_button.

Yay! Oh and you'll be pleased to find that it already is a Gift Registry (it just isn't advertised well). The "Tell a Friend" sends a direct link to a publicly available Wish List/Gift Registry or you can also search for a public list/registry using the "Find a Wish List" functionality. It should just be a matter of replacing the words (wish list and gift registry). Best of luck :)

Seems like this version needs a version 0.6 with possible ammends:
* fixed DB_PREFIX in definition files
* fixed defaults to small images to be shown in extended list
* fixed price showing correctly without start from:
* changing hard coded text in several files to be moved into defines in language files (errors in class; default name; formfields; etc.)
* implement boolean to switch module on/off
* document amendments in core files (header/products view) to include showing the wishlist button/links only if module is enabled
* rewrite add to wishlist so it will not direct to the wishlist page but stays on the product page as the default (like the add to cart button behaves)
* get rid of un_ prefix for page names, it makes no sense
* add check to include attributes to the wishlist (biggest challenge)
* add possibility to move product from cart to wishlist
