Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Why do the image pop-ups push the whole window down, and appear on the background? Maybe it is time to install Lightbox?

Because you haven't installed the javascript and/or the CSS in the right place.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I can't seem to get a second image to show up. The first one shows up with no problems, but the second one won't. I went to tools->image handler2, then navigated to my product, added the extra image which DOES show up on this screen, but when I go to my product page in the cart, there's no second image. How do I get the second image to show up in the actual product listing page?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Following directions to the "T" when installing. Priceless.

A link always help us help you.
Have you check to see that you have additional images turned on?
What template?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have the same problem. Already checked that additional images are actives. They appear correctly in IH Manager, but they're not in the info product page.
No message errors anyway...

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
You're right Tophand, but I'm still developing locally, no public site for now. I'm using "Darkness" template customized.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I fixed my own problem. It was installed correctly, but I had one image as a .jpg and one as a .gif and apparently, they need to be the same file type or it doesn't work.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I dont know where to go in the forum for this problem.
Can anyone tell me why the top category image in the listing page does not come out?
Thanks

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
During the set up of my Store, I turned off IH2 so that I can replace the already watermarked images with clean ones, so that IH2 can do the work for me in a more proficient way.
I turned IH2 back on and cannot view the watermark on MED or LRG images.
Permissions are set as per the instructions, the watermark PNG's are there.
In admin, I did select Watermarks for bot MED and LRG images.
Was there something I missed?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support and fual Slimlight Box
I have both Image Handler 2 and fual Slimlight Box installed on an zcart 1.3.8a.
I cannot seem to get the rollover feature to work on the small images. Are these mods compatible with each other, or is the slimlight box not allowing the setting for the smalle image zoom to work?
I have seached and cannot find where to put the shopad folder, as the documentation does not mention where to upload, or if its even needed. Is this maybe why I cannot get the small images to to expand when rolled ove?
Last question:
Where do I set the size for the small, medium, and large files? I don't think imagemagick is installed, so is it safe to assume that whatever size I create the images in Photoshop will be what is uploaded.
Thanks for any clarification, the awnser is probably obvious

tophand,
I did. I do have the options in the admin panel Admin-->Config-->Images
I have:
IH zoom small images = yes
Could it be that i have Fual Slimlightbox installed that this mod isnt working?
Could it be that I have installed image-handler_2.0-zc137?
I am able to upload more than one image for each product. I wonder what I am missing.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yes. I did not have to touch any IH2 pages.
The IH2 watermarks worked fine before turning it off.
Now, I have a 403 error when viewing the Shop admin. This is a deeper hole.

Image Handler 2 - Multi-language?
Hi,
I have Image Handler 2 installed and it works fine on the English version. I am using the multi-language pack and the images do not show up in the Chinese version. I noticed in the languages folder of the files to upload for Image Handler, there was an English and German one. Is a Chinese one available or is there some workaround?

It doesn't appear to be language specific ...

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I restored my cart back to a pre-installation before I add the Faul Slim Lightbox. So thats out of the equation.
So now I have Image Handler 2 and zen lightbox_1.4 installed.
So......
Let me ask this.
When I browse a category from the index page and I get a list of products, can or should on rollover, the image expand in a lightbox? If yes, its not. I am not getting any errors
or
Does it only work when you actually get to the product page and click "enlarge image".
Maybe I am confused between IH2 and ZL 1.4.
I am trying to get all the thumbnails to pop up a larger image, am I at least heading in the right direction!

The image on rollover should pop-up a hover type pop-up that when you scroll away from the image disappears ... if you not getting that you'll need to check that your Small image dimensions under Configuration :: Images in your administration match the image dimensions found further down that same page.
The HoverBox and LightBox mods provide for their effects on the product information pages.

Thanks so much afo, tophand and others in this thread. I was using 1.3.7.1 with IH2 and everything was great. Then I upgraded to 1.3.8a and additional images stopped appearing.
I followed afo's steps above, but I had to also replace 1.3.8's includes/modules/additional_images.php with the version that came with IH2. Everything works great again - watermarks, additional images, everything.
Thanks again!

Please check that the Small Image Dimensions match the dimensions of the image your hovering over.
Options are under Configuration :: Images.
Example:
The following settings won't allow a hover to be shown for the "New Products" area:
Quote:
Small Image Width: 150px
Small Image Height: 120px
Image - New Products Width: 120px
Image - New Products Height: 100px
But by changing your settings to one of the following two ways, will:
Quote:
Small Image Width: 150px
Small Image Height: 120px
Image - New Products Width: 150px
Image - New Products Height: 120px
OR
Small Image Width: 120px
Small Image Height: 100px
Image - New Products Width: 120px
Image - New Products Height: 100px
Notice how the settings now match ... Which one you choose is based on your need.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I'm updating my site to 1.3.8a and IH2 is the only thing I've installed on it so far. It works great when viewing using firefox but when using IE some of the images zoom and some don't and a message appears at the bottom of the browser saying "Error on Page" after you try to zoom in on one of the images which won't work.
Does anyone know what's causing this or how to fix it?
You can see the problem here http://www.medievalmatters.com/update

You should include the jscript folder inside your YOUR_TEMPLATE template folder ... not just the default template folder.

Hover effect not working for all images
I have installed IH2 for ZC 1.3 and can't get the hover to work on all the images. It seems to work for some but not others and I can't figure out what the difference between the images is.
I do not have a hotspot so the entire images should cause the effect.
Is this a browser specific feature as I'm not using IE or FF.
To see what I mean, please look at robertensing.com
Also can't get the watermark to show on any of the images.
I'm using the latest IH2 file that I could find but in the documents it mentions it's an update, am I missing some base files?
Regards
Robert

The images zoom fine for me in FF, but in IE they only zoom when there is enough space for the zoomed image to show below original image. And since most of your images are huge, that doesn't happen very often. This may be the problem in the browser you're using too (it would have been helpful to tell us which one).
There is a small javascript fix for this earlier in this thread.
However, if you're going to use such huge images, then a lightbox approach might be better.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Question...my extra pictures have the same background as the background to my store. I would prefer them to have a white background. My image handler configuraton is set to have a white background but the store's background is what shows up. How do I fix it to have a white background behind the extra pictures.
You can see an example of the problem from this listing:

What is the image supposed to be? It appears fine in FF ...

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
It's the background that's the problem...not the image itself. The background behind the images should be all white when someone clicks on them to make them bigger, instead it is the same black and white scroll pattern that's behind my store. How do I make the background BEHIND the image when someone clicks to make it bigger all white?

This issue has been resolved. Seems that when I set the bmz_cached folder to the same permissions as my images folder, I didn't realize that 755 was not good enough. I got an error to nite that my images folder was not writable so I changed both to 777 and now they show watermark and at the same timer don't show those humungus images that causes issue earlier for which I put in an updated JS file.
Thanks again folks.
Enjoy the rest of your Hollidays.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I realize that IH2 is still in development being improved upon all the time.
I cannot for the life of me get any part of IH2 to work anymore.
The JS is in all 3 template folders, the BMZ is the same chmod as the image folder, all parts are where they need to be, the ankle bone is connected to the leg bone, etc.
Would someone please take a look at my site and see if any part of IH2 is working?:onfire:
I have worked long and hard on new images that I did not already watermark just so that IH2 can do it for me. If I have to I will resort to using watermarks the old way.
This is my last step before going 100% live on new years. Thanks!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
No. It doesn't seem to be working.
When you right-click an image and click 'properties' you should see 'bmz_cache' in the images path name.
Did you click 'install image handler' in your admin panel?
Is your bmz_cache dir chmod 777?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I looked at you site, no IH 2 is not doing anything. Check your includes/functions/html_output.php, I don't think its modified from stock.
BTW IH2 has not been updated since 5/1/2006 . It doesn't have issues because its still in development, rather the oposite. It was rebuilt for 1.3.x, but then never worked on, so there are lots of weird bugs, patches, tricks etc. to get it to work. The origional author hasn't even been on the forum since June.
This weekend I will sit down and roll a clean new package for 1.3.8a. It won't fix any congenital flaws (I'm not that good), but I can at least make it so people can get it installed without so many headaches.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I still need help getting the pop up background to be white instead of the same background as my store....

What??
There are 2 newer versions in the downloads and both of those no longer use html_output.php.
I use version 2.0 v0916 (dated 9/16/06) and the only fix I had to apply was the JS fix.

Thanks!
What version of IH are you using?
As Kiddo ask, did you install IH from the IH admin?
Have you tried to uninstall and then install from IH admin?

Looks like you are not using IH for your larger images as the file path is:
Code:
http://amoltobelladesigns.com/images/blue_snowflakes.gif
Should be something like this:
Code:
http://amoltobelladesigns.com/bmz_cache/d/d0e735c11f0cb0a88ddbb9a3cc4dfc4c.image.200x200.gif
Do you have IH set for large images?

Yes. Installed uninstalled installed from admin. The closest I got was seeing the watermark on small and medium images but never the large. Now nothing.
Am I supposed to resize images and put them into the MED LRG folders?
Where did the js exist originally?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Can anyone help me with my site? I installed IH2 with no problems on my testsite and everything seemed to be working fine so I installed it on my live site.
The hover over doesn't work like it did on my test site and when I try to my page just jumps. My page is now starts about an 1 1/2 down the page.
When I delete IH2, everything goes back to normal
Help!

Double check that you have put the jscript and CSS files in the right place.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I'm using the IH2 137 that someone else other than Tim put up on the downloads page. Why it was not added to the IH already there as an update is beyond me.
Anyway, it still is not working. Is the CSS and the JS supposed to be in only one spot or are there others?
If the Admin test images don't work then what does that tell you?
Where should I go from here?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Just a quick question. I've installed this mod and it is working as it should as far as I can see.
I was wondering if it is posible to get the popup to show my lrg image instead os my med image, that's all.
Thank you.
I have it installed on this site http://www.pashe.easybeading.com.au till I am sure it works well before I put it on my main site.

Looks like you have the CSS/JS in the correct place.
I would start by uploading each file one at a time and make sure that the file is in the correct place.

Sure will.
They way I uploaded IH2 was to mirror folders when I did a fresh install of zen 138. Everything is where its supposed to be. I used the classic folder as my template folder.
Take another patient look. The hover effect and watermark works over the New product box, sometimes. If you see a watermark of RC101.com then the water mark is working.
Why doesn't work on any of the 800x 500 jpgs?
Thanks.

Sorry, I can't find 1 image that points to the bmz-cache folder including the new products box images.
So far all the images point to the images folder.
What size(kb) are the 800x500 images?
Very large image files will cause IH to break.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Top Hand:
I took you advice once more and checked each folder and the ftp window.
I was meticulous. Every IH image was 777 or became 777.
The BMZ_cache folder has a kazillion images inside the recently created folders named 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 then they start over with letters.
There is a .keep file in there as well.
:lamo: So, even clearing the IH cache again via admin didn't do it, I erased all the folders in the BMZ_cache and it works :frusty:
Size is 156kb for a detailed decal image. The rest are lighter.
It all works now. Permission to be sick. :Flush:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Ok, so part deuce.
Which file do i modify to allow the large watermark to cover the whole image?
There are some images that the watermark is there and can be covered up by a thiefs watermark.
Is it in the JS where to allow a larger watermark_LRG image to be called upon?

That was going to be the next thing to do, delete all the folders in the bmz-cache folder. Could have been a corrupt image or folder.
Glad it is working for you.
Your watermark image for medium images goes in the images/medium folder.
Your watermark image for large images goes in the images/large folder.
You can make the watermark as big as you need it as long it is no bigger then your large product image.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
That's what I was doing. I finally have a new PNG with size 72 for the large images.
Looks really good on the images that have not been already watermarked by the wholesaler for me. Off to taking new pics.
Thanks!

Look in the stylesheet for a z-index and try increasing the value.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
where do I set the sie of the rollover popup.
I created a set of images small 150 x however tall, medium 250 x howeverall and large image 400 xhowever tall in photoshop and uploaded them in the IH2 modual, but the images are still showing smaller and the rollover isnt much bigger than the thumbnail.
Does IH2 resize the image when uploade? Or do I need to set the sm,med,lg image sizes somewhere?
Which leads me to another question, if I want to keep the width of the images the same for each sm,med, large file but allow the height to be whatever it is, how do I achieve this?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have not found an answer for this yet. ImageHandler2 strips all META and ICC profiles when it resizes images. Is there anyway to stop this?
Also, for some reason, ImageHandler zooms ALL my images EXCEPT my categories. Not sure what is happening here.
Cart link:
http://www.kristianbogner.com/store/...=index&cPath=2
I think it might be something in the CSS, but all I remember is it working one day, and stopped working another. So confused.
Thanks

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Really nice layout and template.
You wrote "ImageHandler zooms ALL my images EXCEPT my categories"
What do you mean? How can the hover effect work on a category?
It handled all the small and medium image just fine.
It did however take 10 seconds (no kidding) to load the super sized images with a cable modem.
I have a 20" iMac and felt compelled to order the 30" HD Display. The images are too big. Offer a super sized version in an additional linked icon.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Thank you for the comments. The layout still has a bit to go, but I'm glad you like it thus far.
Let me clear it up. When you click on "scenics", all the pictures for that category will pop up. Last night, I could hover over a picture and it would display a larger preview. Today, all the + squares are gone, and when you hover over an image nothing happens.
The test images are pretty large, I will make sure to compress them once my client starts uploading the real thing. But until I get imagehandler fixed, I can't do that. The hover IS annoying, but getting the ICC and META thing working is vital.
The super-large images are too large, we will need to tone them down. Thank you for the feedback, will make sure to fix those up in production.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I just realized.
My Large Images are not centering.
Is there something to tweak or can Lightbox truley work with IH2?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Okay, which Image Handler should I use? And what's the difference between them?
The one I'm trying now is the one I downloaded from Breakmyzencart.com:
http://www.breakmyzencart.com/image-handler
But I see there's also one in the downloads section here that wasn't added by Tim Kroeger at:
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=117

I'm using Lightbox with IH2 on my development site (develop.swiftbooks.co.uk).
I have it set to maintenance mode right now, but it should be back to normal in half and hour, or so.

Must be something to do with your Browser and/or cache. I just looked at your Scenics Images and the + signs are there and mouseover images popup like they should?
Note: neither of the above will work if you have JS turned OFF. IH uses JS to affect the mouseovers. When JS is turned OFF there is no notice given and one must click the image, to have it opened in a new Window.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
It's centeredContent in the style sheet. View the source of the pop up image.
I cannot edit the style sheets because there s a parse error in all of them.
W3 only says that the errors are Same colors for color and background-color in two contexts...
I knew that but where's the parse?

Walking out the door and will be away from a computer for a week as I type so...
I don't think it's the style sheet.
My centeredContent matches yours.
I sure that someone else this problem and posted what they had to do.
Thinking that the popup is using the wrong header.

Hi,
I have downloaded and uploaded Image Handler 2 (from the downloads area here).
When I go to install it, I get the following errors:

Thanks.

There is probably some unneeded white space in linkpoint_review.php ...
Check the end of the file for any blank lines after or before the close of the php tag "?>"

Did you recently change servers? Move your store?
What's your configure.php settings? Leave out the sensitive information ...
Check the permissions of the cache directory.

To add the watermark, the file is defined in your Admin panel :: Configuration :: Images and located respectively in each of the image directories:
/images/
/images/medium/
/images/large/
When installing Image Handler, you would have added these files.

Thanks a lot for the help. I got it figured out. However, how do I modify the watermark itself? I want it to show my store name rather than "zencart". Do I need a special software, or this contribution can somehow take care of that? Thanks!

At least we both gotta laugh out of my misfortune LOL.
One thing I am trying desperately to discover though is if there is any point in the zoom feature? I mean, it actually makes my products smaller!
Did I do something wrong?
See this product page to see what I mean

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
"How do I modify the watermark itself? I want it to show my store name rather than "zencart"."
Just create a new image of the size with a transparent background in Photoshop or other and type in your Business Name.
Create one for the small, medium, and large watermark images, and name them the same and dump them into your directories exactly where you found the IH2 Zen Cart watermark images.
