Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
Hi Eric,
thanks a lot for responding.
Well I am ´sure´ that I configured everything right.
In my admin I did the following:
ANALYTICS ACCOUNT: I entered my ID which is UA-xxxxxx-1 ( I also tried without -1)
TARGET ADDRESS: costumers
AFFILIATION: -blank-
USE SKU/CODE: products_id
If I enter my side and take a look at the source I can see the the code.

Also, make sure you gave them the proper link to the page(s) with the tracking code on it so it can verify.
Where can I verify that?
Thanks a lot,
regards,
kruna

You would verify that the link you gave Google to check is the actual link you have the tracking mod installed on. So, if you have it installed site wide (which you probably do), then you will want to make sure the verification url on the Google side is simply the base url of your site.
If you want me take a look at it, I'd be happy to. Just shoot me a PM.
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support

1) When I go to that page, I get a "404 Page not found error" which is probably why they code is not validating. It can't find the page.
2) When you say you inserted the code, did you use the module to setup Google Analytics, or did you manually insert the code?
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
I'm sorry the page is www.amurianaglass.com/TEST
thank's
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
I use the module.
Thank's
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
I am wondering if I have installed GA correctly... here is why I say that...
In my cart on July 4 it shows:
Counter History - 385
Google Analytics shows:
4 Page Views / 3 Visits
Think I have an install problem?

I'll make it a point to put that video up here in the next day or so. It should hopefully clarify the difference between "all items" that Google offers as well as show how to set it all up (on the google side).
Inserting the code alone (that I posted) will only get you "part of the way there".
Again, I'll make it a point to put that video up in the next day or so. I'll post here when it is live.
I think you'll be a bit of a hero for lots of people when you get this completed!
I know I'm greatly looking forward to any kind of tutorial about how to set up the goals/ecommerce part of Google Analytics; video would just be gravy!
I have this mod installed, and Google Analytics is collecting and displaying visitor info about my site, but I obviously went wrong setting up my goals because they're always sitting at 0, and I have more than 0 sales (and my Ecommerce radiobutton has always been set to "yes"). ^_~
So just wanted to say I'm really looking forward to this!
I have also visited your zen optimization blog, and a lot of it really made sense to me, so now I'm implementing some more of your suggestions. ^_^
Thank you!

Do NOT compare the cart counter total to Google Analytics totals. Go by Google Analytics for TRUE reporting figures.
The counter in the cart simply adds a new number every time you refresh a page (basically), and provides little value if you are concerned with unique visitors and conversion tracking.

Glad you like the site. I attempt to provide a lot of data that simply is overlooked most of the time. I prefer to focus on sales conversion aspects of Zen Cart as that is in the end what all store owners want .. right?
I actually got side tracked by a few projects and posts but am planning on finally adding the video tutorial to the blog very soon. I also will address Google Analytics in more detail via the post.
There is a lot to it, and it can be quite confusing for many to setup and get it right. If you are not looking at the right figures, or the setup is not totally correct, the data you use to try to make decisions on is no good and the decisions you make are therefore no good.
