Hey guys, I am trying to install IH2 into 1.3.8a on my
Localhost test server. I have a shop in the root dir and
a completely nested shop in the root/wholesale dir
Have installed IH2 into the wholesale dir but this error
seems to say it is trying to call to the root dir?
The front end still works fine, this error is generated entering admin...
Any insight would be greatly appreciated

If it were present, how could it fail or be missing?
Go back and double check each directory, each directory in that directory, etc and see if anything is missing. ALL images need to be 777, and the BMZ needs to be 777.
Is the JS in the right spot?
Clear cache and cookies. Inside the BMZ folder will be generated folders, 1,2,3, a,b,c delete these until you see that the hovers and watermarks are all working.
I just went through this many times on my own site.:frusty:
I would not build another Zen Cart without this contribution.
One of my listing rules is that I do not use stock images for used books. Every used book I list must have an image of the actual book for sale. This is currently quite time-consuming so I aim to speed up this part of the listing process.
I'd like to cut out the work between scanning and entering the image filename into the system. At the moment I tend to do it in batches (recording purchases, listing, then scanning/image resizing/image upload). This means I'm handling stock multiple times and wasting time every time. I'd like to change to a handle-the-item-once process (record purchase, list and scan at the same time, with the image resizing automated).
The system would need to collect the image from the scanner, resize it, then feed it to IH2 for upload - a one-click process from the collect_info page. The current browse-for-a-file process would have to remain too as some books will have to be photographed - they're just too big for my scanner! An A3 scanner is being hunted for ...
Does anyone have any hints or tips for accessing a TWAIN compliant USB scanner directly from the image section of the collect_info page? I'm using IH2, so I'm asking the question in this thread as I assume most of the required software changes will be in the IH2 code.
One possibility is that I need to do some work on my PC (Windows XP SP2) to add the scanner to the file browser control? Perhaps this will complete most of the task ...
Any thoughts?
Ive been using IH2 with this particular store front since it was setup several weeks back. Ive been adding products thruout with no problems.
Earlier today, I had added several more new products with additional images, but suddenly while im still adding products im getting this error now when trying to add the additional errors.
No changes were made to cart or settings of any kind. In fact I had just previously added an item and now get this error...
Ive tried clearing cookies, cache etc... to no avail.Quote:

Please help me out and thanks in advance

I have just realized that while IH2 does add the watermark to my category images, it does not resize them. Is it supposed to? If not, anyone know how I might add that function?
ADMIN - PLEASE NOTE! I've copied the following from my site review post at http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...t=83862&page=2 since I wasn't able to edit/remove the post there. If someone could please remove that one I'd appreciate it!

I played some more and realized that if I manualy upload to the directory, it will put the large (not the meduim that I want) watermark on it, but not resize it. It I do it nicely through the admin it will resize it, but not watermark it. If I leave my old category images up it does not resize them, and they were already watermarked. For now I'm going through by hand and uploading watermarked images throught the admin.
Thanks Gothstone, could have sworn I had skimmed thru, musta went too fast.

Hi again,
I successfully installed image handler and also altered the image sizes and boy am I impressed! This is a great extension.
I need help with resolving a conflict between image handler and spry widgets though.
I have uploaded a spry widget (Tabbed panes) for my category descriptions, both the Javascript and CSS. It is working very well at "shortening" my category descriptions.
However, Image Handler Javascript seems to have stopped working for displaying the pop-ups. I'm not experienced enough to be able to get both working together and was wondering what the solution would be?
In Firefox (with Firebird debugger installed) it gives 2 errors when trying to produce a rollover:
hidetrail is not defined and;
showtrail is not defined.
I realise that it is the Spry widget conflicting with Image handler, but I really need both on my site working at the same time.
I'd appreciate any advice you can give to resolve the conflict, other than not having the tabbed panes.
Here is an example url of the problem: Example URL
Many thanks.
Chris.
SOLVED Make sure you place the Javascript for imagehandler in your custom template jscript folder along with the rest of your javascripts.
Sorry about that...my stupidity!
Might be a dumb question is there any potential worries with leaving the bmz_cache folder at 777 instead of a more restricted setting. My images folder is set to 755 but when I set this cache to 755 or even 775 I get a bunch of PHP write errors
Quick question, I know I've seen it mentioned in this thread before, but couldn't figure out where the solution was.
Every once in a while IH2 seems to stop working. No more mouse overs, no more watermarks. I have to remove and install it again (just from admin, not files).
Is there a fix for this?
I have a couple questions for you, I just installed IH and so far it looks much much better than the stock zen-cart setup.
First, when I installed IH, I noticed that the pictures in my product description pages do not show up anymore. Did I install something wrong, or am I missing something?
Second, with the hover script, how do I remove the product title and just have it show the image? It also looks like it's showing the small image instead of the medium image in the hover, is there a spot in the IH Admin to change that or do you have to edit the script its self?
Thanks very much for the help.

Hey guys, we just updated our store today to 1.3.8 and after the upgreade of the database, we lost 90-95% of all of our product images, has any one had this problem yet?
Lost 95% of your images?
No I did not have that but, that's not really a problem since you backed up your site and your DB right?
Please use the Conversion thread for this
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=148
1) A link will help us help you.
2) Using the "Search This Thread" tool you would have found this.

You can set the size for small, medium and large.

My site is at http://gardenhavenskinborn.com/shop and I don't see a 'search this thread' option.
Thanks for the help though.
Hi.
I'm having a weird problem with my additional images..
When I hover over it, it shows the larger version. But when I click on it, it simply doesn't load the larger version. WHat's wrong?
I'm not sure what you mean by 'unloaded' all files for IH. Are you asking if I uploaded all my images? I did do that, I can see all of them in my preview in the admin area, I did notice in the preview that my medium images are the same size as my small images. And before you ask, yes the actual images are different sizes :)
I can't recall the template number right off hand but I bought it from bluegelmedia.com.
Thanks for the help.
P.S. I only have two of the tabs you you highlighted in your screen shot, not including the Search This Thread and Rate This Thread tabs. :)
When you installed Image Handler, you had to upload files. So did you check to see if you uploaded all of them?
What happen if you uninstall IH, does the main product image show?
Admin--> Tools --> Image Handler --> Admin
Click --> "Remove Image Handler From Database" (You are not deleting any files, so don't worry)
While you have IH uninstalled, delete all the folders & images from the bmz-cache folder.
What happens when you now install IH?
Also, since you paid $$ you need to check with bluegelmedia for support as I suspect the template is the problem if all the Image Handler files was uploaded.

Hello,
I installed IH2 and everything seemed to work fine until when I tried to add additional images.
When I went to Admin -> Tools -> Image Handler 2 -> Manager -> and when I selected a category which contains the product I want to add additional images, it would just go to Image Handler "Admin" page. THere was no error message or anything. Nothing happened!
Does anybody know what the problem might be?
I do have additional images turned on.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi,
I double checked and I did upload all the files.
While I was trying again early on, I noticed that there was a message saying "No Image Handler information found." right under the title "Image Handler 2". What does that mean??
Thanks for your help.
While browsing this thread, I searched for "No Image Handler information found" and saw someone fixed the problem (error message "No Image Handler information found") by clicking on "install Image Handler" on admin page.
I don't know what happened. I did install IH2 and was surprised that there was an option "install image handler" under admin page.
After "re"-install IH2, everything works now!
PS. I have to say that IH is really useful. Thank you very much.
Wow this is certainly an amazing addon for the shopping cart. Thank you so much...
I do have a tiny problem. How do I make the additional images to show? :D I just don't know why it's not being displayed
Thank you for the help and this great mod
figured out the problem....... it looked like the images have been renamed correctly, but not. The original image was uploaded with the capital .JPG extension and the additional images with the lower case extension of .jpg ....this is where the problem was.... :shocking:
Thank you so much for your time :D
Yeay it's FIXED
Any Chance there is an addon for using the RSS Feed contribution?
No matter what I do, there is a linked image that you can see and swipe without a watermark.
Hi,
Just installed IH2 on our 1.3.7.1 cart and it's working great. Brilliant contribution! But I had some minor issues:
1) couldn't get zooms working on category product listings (but worked on New Products, Featured Products, etc.)
2) couldn't get zooms working on medium (product page) images
After pulling apart the IH code, I learned some stuff that might be helpful to other IH users, which I couldn't find in the documentation at BreakMyZenCart. (Apologies if this has already been posted...I haven't read through all 215 pages of this thread to find out, and can't seem to find anything relevant by searching.)
Problem #1: ImageHandler handles three "sizetypes" of images: "small", "medium" and "large". It determines which sizetype it's working with in two ways:
1) for medium and large images, it searches for "_medium" and "_large" in the filenames
2) for small images, it checks to see if the width and height of the image are IDENTICAL to the "Small Image Width" and "Height" set in Admin > Configuration > Images. If the dimensions are not identical, and the image is not already identified as a medium or large image, it's labelled as "generic", and no zoom behavior can be applied.
Therefore, to enable zoom behavior on ALL images (e.g., category product listings, "new product" listings, "featured product" listings, etc.), you first need to make sure that the following options MATCH the "Small Image Width" and "Height" in Admin > Configuration > Images:
Image - Product Listing
Image - Product Listing
Image - Product New Listing
Image - Product New Listing
Image - New Products Width
Image - New Products Height
Image - Featured Products Width
Image - Featured Products Height
Image - Product All Listing Width
Image - Product All Listing Height
Problem #2: I discovered that the IH get_additional_parameters() function in includes\classes\bmz_image_handler.class.php, which adds the zoom behavior to images, checks to see if the current image sizetype allows zooming (an option set for small and medium images in Admin > Configuration > Images). However, it's limited to sizetype == 'small' on the previous line, excluding the possibility that medium images can have zooms.
I changed this sizetype != 'large', so that the only images that are excluded from having zooms are large ones.
Once that was working, and I had zooms on both small and large images, I realized it was pretty silly to zoom the "No picture available" pictures. I made some minor tweaks in the IH files to prevent zooms on these default pictures. I also tweaked the main_product_image template so that if a zoom is applied to a medium image, it does not also show the default ZenCart "larger image" caption and link to the popup (which seems redundant).
Here's my tweaks as a patch. Would love it if somebody could download and test these changes and let me know what they think!
I've got image handler installed and it works mostly. :)
The one place it does not work is category listings. All the images are missing. The images DO appear elsewhere for the product. Once you click on a product, the image appears from the bmz cache and when you click for the larger image an image comes from the bmz cache too.
This happened after I went to image handler admin and clicked the "Scan for old IH 0.x and 1.x original images"
What can I do to make this work correctly? The test store is at
http://www.crimescene.com/store-1-13-2008
Tom
Jus for ha ha's, try the classic template
I have seen some templates that have been re coded and miss some features.
other than that, check and double check settings in admin, IH would appear tricky to some, but I see it as more particular for settings
PS: thanks to capnhairdo for his explanation and ad on , it is important to follow IH's needs !
Maybe check your file(s) path.
You have:
http://www.crimescene.com/store/
and
http://www.crimescene.com/store-1-13-2008/
Looks like all the image point to /store/images/
This is weird.
Try to view this image, fingerprint.collection.jpg
http://www.crimescene.com/store-1-13...collection.jpg
Should get just the image, but the page reloads and now the images show.
The file path has changed from /store-1-13-2008/images/ to /store/images/.
http://www.crimescene.com/store/imag...collection.jpg
now shows just the image.
Have you check your 2 configure.php files for /store-1-13-2008/ to see if the image path is correct?

Help
I have IH2 disabled at the moment while I try and figure out what is happening..
I have installed this mod on another site before and it works fine
but when I install it on http://www.agijewellery.co.uk the images don't popup they just appear in the top left hand corner of the browser window before the header.....
Please help, where should I start looking to resolve the problem...
Kind Regards

I'm sure that it's totally obvious but I'm just not seeing it, how do you define the size for the Medium images? I see the size for Large and the primary image in Configure :: Images, but I don't see anything for Medium.
Thanks,
Kyler
So , I am using the latest version Of IH2 from downloads section,
Installed on 1.3.8a
PopUp looks awesome good size, good placement time to move on right?
By chance I viewed it in IE7 and the popup does not function properly,
the further down the page I get the more the popup is out of place.
So if it works fine in FF i am assuming my install is correct?
or am I overlooking a file placement that would affect IE and not FF
Also using Column Grid layout if that matters........
Thanks!!
You are looking in the right place, just not called Medium.
Product Info pages display the medium sized images.
MCode:Product Info - Image Width 151
Product Info - Image Height 0
Product Info - Image Medium Suffix _MED
Product Info - Image Large Suffix _LRG
Somehow I knew Id get that response,:lamo:
Sorry, I'm off site on localhost, I will post again when I get updated site
uploaded....
Awesome! Thanks so much! Between IH and HoverBox, I think my people will finally be satisfied! Thanks again!
Kyler
What would be best way to handle ezpage images?
How would you recomend it to be done?
Problem with Image Handler seems that it handles only product images.
I would like to create a separate image library for ezpages.
It is also important to be able to upload different image sizes similar way like imge handler 2 does.

Using "Image Handler 2" with "Bestsellers thumbnail images" sidebar and trying to shrink the bestsellers thumbnails' image size a bit.
My thumbnails are 50x40 pixels by default and pulling from the "bmz_cache" directory - so imagine Image Handler is controlling the resizing (??? not sure).
I know I can control the thumbnail image size via CSS, but I'd prefer to control the actual thumbnail size where it's being generated.
Any idea where/what to modify to control the thumbnail's image size? Can't find an admin setting anywhere...
Thanks!
Figured it out - well not where the code is but how the image size is being determined.
The "bestsellers thumbnail" is 50% of "small image size" (Admin > Config > Images)
I apologize for posting in this thread if IH2 isn't doing the resizing. I just figured since the location of the thumbnail was in "bmz_cache" that IH2 was responsible.
Anyway - thanks...
I have installed Image Handler 2 on an zcart 1.3.8a. and also installed another patches for this http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=489743
I cannot seem to get the rollover feature to work on the small images.
I have searched the whole zen forum but could not find any thing.
Problem: images seems to be there but rollover not working and I get and error on the bottom of IE window which only says "Errors found on the page"
Previously I had Hover Box
http://zen-cart-templates.ichoze.net...55219d17e7a1ff
but then I removed that as well but IH2 still not seems to be working.
please have a look on http://shop.imranseries.com
Thanks for your quick response. All seems to be working....thanks again
Is there any way for people to be able to link to the images from my store? It appears that when they link to an image handler generated image-- the image expires soon.
When people link to my images it increases my sales. What can I do, if anything?
Tom
I have Image Handler 2 downloaded and I am able to upload additional images however when I look at the item the additional images do not show up at all. Can anyone please help as to what I am not doing. thanks
I installed the IH with Apple Zen Template (don't know if that matters) but, I get this error...
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zen_href_link() in /homepages/26/d231917954/htdocs/store/admin/includes/extra_configures/image_handler_tools_dhtml.php on line 12
Do you know how what I did wrong? Thanks so much!
Ashley
From your other thread you said someone installed IH for you.
Have you ask them to check and make sure they uploaded all the files and that they are in the correct folders?
I feel that you are missing a IH file, maybe "additional_images.php"?
What are the image file size your uploading?
M
Maybe I spoke too soon....
www.the-cookie-house.com/store
The image appears in the upper corner if you are using Firefox and in IE, the image handler doesn't work at all, I guess. ?? Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Any thoughts? I've installed IH2 on my local machine on a fresh install of 1.3.8a using the Acadame template. However, it doesn't seem to generate the correct links. The images are fine, but the links point to images/products/large... and not to the BMZ_Cache folder.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. IH is installed. And uninstalled and repeated about 10 times. Like I said, I'm using it on another site without issue.
I've tried adding 1 photo through the Categories-Products when i add the product, and also directly into IH. The images ARE there and are generated, but the paths are output incorrectly.
Are you using an old version of HoverBox? Or maybe have an outdated file?
Reason is, in the past HoverBox would still output urls as such "images/products/large... " even when IH was installed.
And you've installed Acadame, so you quite possibly could have installed HoverBox.
INSTALLATION FILES CONTAINS CORRUPTED FILE.

Well at least ?> characters.

marksu
What version are you using?
Presuming you are referring to this file:
admin/includes/boxes/extra_boxes/image_handler_tools_dhtml.php
I see no such code as you describe as needed yet IH2 works just fine in every way.
Download the image_handler__for_vx_2.0_for_137.zip from
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=117
Open \admin\includes\boxes\extra_boxes\image_handler_tools_dhtml.php
There you see the code I am talking about.
- for loop missing (not sure it it is required but "admin profile module" manual had it in their example)
Propaply it still works without the forloop code but not next statement is a fact.
- One for certain is that it is missing ?> characters at the end of document.
Anyone that understand php coding knows that PHP code allways need to end with ?> characters.
I downloaded the package 3 time to make sure the download is OK and not corrupted.

Sure Image Handler worked ok for me too untill I installed the Admin Profile. Then my problems started.
Even those problems are solved now by this fix.
marksu
The example to which you refer shows how to convert a normal box file, such as that supplied with Image Handler, into a box file that works with Admin Profiles. The for loop is therefore specific to Admin Profiles with the purpose of ensuring that all menu items are checked by the page_allowed() function before being added to the $za_contents[] array (or not!).
Not actually a fact, I'm afraid. If the PHP interpreter reaches the end of a file with its tag state as open, it will close it automatically. So ?> at the end of a file are actually optional. I would argue that best practise would be to include a closing tag anyway, but the author of Image Handler always preferred to leave them off. So there's no surprise that there's not one here.
I'm glad, if a little surprised, that your installation of Admin Profiles has dealt with whatever problem you were having with Image Handler, and appreciate your attempts to alert other community members to a potential problem. However, I have to agree with the others here that the Image Handler mod available for download works fine.
Thanks kuroi for your good reply. Yes I see your point. You are right.
Well seem maybe my english is not wery god which can be the case as that is my second, well third language. It can also be that you have not read my typing well enaf. My statement was that particular lines of code was missing and you stated you cant see the code. Well not quite sure what you mean with your stametement but I think kyroi explaned the case wery well. I don't have anything to ad to that.

I glad that the packet is OK.

I guess this is where I am supposed to ask any questions about image handler. I uploaded it and it installed successfully. I know that now when I add a product to just use the larger size pic 600 x 600 and ih2 will resize for me. My question is what do I do about the photos I already have for my products in zencart? Do I delete them and readd the large size of them? Thanks.
Image Handler works from the time you install it on already active products and products you choose to install later.
If you want your images to be larger when selecting the large image, I'd upload larger, higher quality images of your product for those products. You don't have to delete them, just change the association in the database for each product. Either via the Admin area ( Product Edit or Entry) or via phpMyAdmin. Just depends on your liking.
You are correct and it was I who was confused. Had been up too long when I made my earlier post and not thinking too straight.
I'm not familiar with the Admin Profiles module but it is not uncommon for some modules to conflict with each other. IH2 and Lightbox is another combination that seems to have problems as well.
I think , on the contrary, IH2 and Lightbox work together without any flaw, I have on occasion lightbox not produce its effect, but 99.99% all is as desired
(all 3 sites)
I installed Slimbox and haven't installed Image Handler and I could not get Slimbox to work for the additional images of a product. They boast heavily on Slimbox working with Image Handler, so could this mean that I need to install IH for things to work? If so, will the additional images I already have still work with both?
Since upgrading to 1.3.8a on our shared server account, we have been told the site is generating excessive resource usage and will soon be moved off the server. Stats given were:
CPU usage: 2.52
Memory usage: 1.19
MySQL usage: 0.2
Other than content customizations and a handful of mods, it's a pretty standard install. However when I disabled Image Handler 2 in the admin (setting "IH resize images" to "no") the page parse times do drop noticeably... when it's on they are up to 10 seconds (worst case) and when it's off they are usually under 2 seconds. Database query time is always low (< 0.5 seconds).
Has anyone else run into this problem with Zen Cart 1.3.8a on PHP5 with gd with Image Handler 2?
I have checked when IH2 is on that all images on the page are using the cached generated images (they are), and when I browse the cache directories on the server the timestamps are not new -- i.e. the cached images are not being regenerated each time the page displayed (or if they are, at least not resaved).
I did upgrade the site via a subversion branch merge and I don't believe there were direct conflicts in the IH2 files. There are no visible problems on the site with IH2 active.
Thanks for any suggestions on what could be wrong.
Bjornar
Here's a question for you:
When IH displays an image upon Mouseover, what is the file size of the image? Have your Images been optimized?
