Re: Facebook - eCommerce Catalog Browse [Support]
Hi
The two Facebook pages we have link to your domain our system are:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/preview/373657609358780
https://www.facebook.com/pages/preview/421261184562830
Unfortunately we can't access either of the pages, so I can't determine which you are actively using. Please can you confirm the URL of the correct Facebook page, as both of these pages are still reporting invalid key when they request the data feed.
It maybe worth using our support system, as we may need to discuss your key setting and probably not best done on a public thread.

I will, let us see if the first issue will solve it.
Thanks.
Re: Facebook - eCommerce Catalog Browse [Support]
Hi
When the web server for eCommerce Browser app requests the data feed, it receives 403 Forbidden message with no content.
However when I access it from a web browser it works fine:
http://www.discounthomeoffice.com/fb...n=zc_browse&p=ADD_PLUGIN_KEY_HERE&t=N&catid=-1&path=-1&page=0&instock=1
Please review you web logs and see if you can see why the requests are being blocked as this will be the reason why both methods are not working.
Kind regards

Re: Facebook - eCommerce Catalog Browse [Support]
How do I find out what my Shop Plugin Key is?
Re: Facebook - eCommerce Catalog Browse [Support]
The plug-in key can be located in the admin under the "Configuration" drop-down under "Facebook Catalog Browser". If it is not present please make sure you have installed the SQL patch and also uploaded the contents of the upload folder to the root of the shop. Not the folder itself.
If it is still not visible, you can manually set the plug-in key inside the fb_browse.php as this will remove the need to run the SQL script and find the key. To do this, simply change:
if (!($admin_pass == BSS_PLUGIN_KEY)) {
to
if (!($admin_pass == 'MyNewPassword')) {
This does have the disadvantage that you will not be able to set the password inside the shop admin, but this is only done once during installation so it is not important.

Re: Facebook - eCommerce Catalog Browse [Support]
I have it all working. Just to let you know I am using zencart v1.5.4
Re: Facebook - eCommerce Catalog Browse [Support]
G'day,
So this Facebook Shop to Zen Cart integration option has been around for a while now and it seems to work technically. But does it work commercially? Are those of you using it seeing a significant increase in sales that is a direct result of having a store on Facebook? Is the increase in profits covering you costs of running this solution?
I'd appreciate your feedback before I venture down this path.
Best regards, Lloyd Borrett.
Re: Facebook - eCommerce Catalog Browse [Support]
Hi Lloyd,
What we have found is that its commercial viability is very much dependent on the retailer's target customers. We discovered it works with a specific type of customer profile, e.g late 20 to early 40s that use Facebook via their computer or tablet. Unfortunately over the past few years we have found a shift with a large majority of younger users now relying solely on the mobile app to interact.
The web app doesn't work on mobile devices because Facebook only allows you to link to an associated native iOS or Android apps when you access the page app. This is impractical, as each retailer would need a custom Facebook and native app. This would be unlikely to be picked up, as customers are very unlikely not install a custom app for each small retailer, onto their phone.
All we can recommend, is trying the free trial as you don't need to enter any payment details. Then during the trial we recommend you use Google analytics to see how it affects your referrals for both Facebook or www.ecommercebrowser.com and whether there is an uplift in your customer base and referrals. If it doesn't work well you can always choose to keep the free lite gallery version, after the trial, or uninstall it from your page completely without any costs.
Kind regards

Re: Facebook - eCommerce Catalog Browse [Support]
It is a very great add-on! I can't wait to install it.
Is it also workable for Zencart 1.5.4?
Thanks
