Yes, it's not really the kind of stuff that's worth guessing about! ;)

Do you mean "QR codes"? Just read up on them.. Ceon URI Mapping is non-destructive.. as long as you weren't using other SEO software before, things should be fine.. QR codes when scanned simply link to a URI.. it will then redirect from the old dynamic Zen Cart URIs to your new URI mappings.

Yup found that out so yay. I was just afraid that your code would completely reroute deleting the old.
SOOOO since your brought up I had to check, but google base feeder still works and with the your new links yay!!!!! ...which was pretty much why I decided to use your system.
Nice job man. Maybe ill even donate when I get some cash
Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)
Found another advantage, when using Piwik or similar the page titles are now legible.
Does it keep getting better?
Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)
Found an issue man. If you have multiple of the same product names in the same sub, it kinda misses the others.
Perhaps using model number or both product name and model number instead would be better?

This has been covered here several times before. No-one can give a good reason for having products on their site, in the same category, which have the same name. It makes no sense. How would a blind person know which product is which?
You must either name your products correctly or you'll have to manually change the URIs for the different products.
I suggest naming your products correctly.
In version 4 the software will tell you that you have got products with the same name in the same directory and insist that you manually rename the product(s) or manually enter the product URI Mapping.. as a matter of logic and principle, there will never be support for automatically generating different product URI mappings for products with the same name in the same category.

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)
Ill give a good reason, I dont control the product names. The Manufacturer does and in certain industries its very common to have a common product line name with different models.
for instance
http://www.google.com/search?q=esq&u...6a61114e7dc301
or
http://www.google.com/search?q=esq&u...f4f9e173c59dcc
but really you can think of cars as well. an f-250 has multiple model numbers.
Anywho, Could you let me know how to manually change it or is it possible?

I understand where your reasoning is coming from but it's not a good reason. What you are saying is that the model name is *part* of the product's name.
Again, how would a blind person pick the car model they want from such a list? I believe we should treat blind people equally.
You should add the model to your product names as that's what the "real" product names are.

I'd still advise correcting the name of the product to include the model part of the name but you can simply manually enter a URI for each product instead of ticking "autogenerate".
Or you can tick "autogenerate" but once you get to the "preview" page, copy the autogenerated URI, go back to the product page, paste in the autogenerated URI and modify it to add the model number or add something else to make it unique.
I have to point out that the fact that you'd be adding the model number to the URI to make it unique lends towards the logic that the product's name is "wrong" in the first place! :)

Why?? the modules as it sits has enough flexibility that you can simply enter your own URI for these products.. There's no issue here at all.. Though it really doesn't make sense to have products with duplicate names in the same category anyway..
Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)
Trust me when I first saw how the industry names their products it just seemed odd that they can have 10 or so watches with the same name and in many cases its not just black, silver, gold... it may be a completely different shape...but its been like that for hundreds of years and not much little me can do about it.
As for the why, I am doing these manually but I can see that this is going to be ongoing and half the time I dont know up front how many a certain name will pop up as they could be spread out through the catalogs of some of these manufactures so Im requesting since you would probably know right of the bat what file to modify to add to the url mapping the route/route/product name_model number.
I completely understand your view and I agree with it, Im just asking if this is something I can modify for this particular industry while it probably wont fit for 90% of the installs out there.
Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)
Just my three cents, but since this module is flexible enough to allow you to create custom URIs with your own custom value, what can't you simply create the URI at the time you create the product witht he model included in the URI??? I think Conor has made it clear he won't be putting any time or effort into custom variations for how the module generates the URIs..
