Hi
If I have two sites using the Multisite module and a user manually changes the product_id in their browser URL to that of a product that shouldn't display in the current store, will they be able to see the product detail for that product when they shouldn't?
Hope that makes sense :)
Thanks
Simon
Hi All,
Ive got this module installed and working beautifully! Makes life soooo much easier to keep everything under 1 admin screen.
Ive managed to set it up for different domain names, but im a bit confused about how to set this modul up for different directories.
I want to have a different style on www.funkyfancydress.com/fancy-dress-shop but i cant save this name for the _config.php file.
How do i get around this?
Cheers
Paul
Does anyone have a live site that they are using this on? I'm not seeing how this works on the big depot site. Or, maybe I'm not seeing what I expect to see. I may have the wrong idea about what this mod can do. I know this mod can do a cross basket. But, I'm not seeing how each storefront relates to the others. Is this a "many stores, one admin" thing? Is there the ability to have a "parent" store with "sub' stores? What I want is a parent store where users can pick/shop by store/vendor/manufacturer or by product categories. If they shop by store/vendor/man, then they get to that storefront, which could look entirely different then the parent store. then, once a product is found and placed in the cart, they could check out or click on a link back to the parent store an look at other stores or products. Is this how it works?
Thanks?
nakins,
This module does exactly what you need. I have my parent store with separate categories accessible from different domains. You can also change the appearance of each store just as easily as selecting a different template. The shopping cart wroks across sites provided you use the links in the sidebox provided and the is only one admin. To answer your question, yes, that is how it works. My website has it. www.2fastonline.com the links to other stores are in the channels sidebox
Ok, I did a fresh install of zen and uploaded/overwrote the multistore files, and uploaded the tools. How do I create a second store? and instructions for that around? I'm just testing/learning this, so I won't have a second domain, but I can create a sub domain. Thanks
What you have to do is once you create a sub domain and point it to the same folder where your zen cart is located. (You can ask your site host to do this) Or you can upload index.php and the includes folder to your subdomain.
Once You've done that you have to make a sub.yourdomain.com_config.php in the "includes/config_sites/" folder
Not sure if that's clear enough. It took me a while to get mine to work the way I wanted
Hi,
I am so far quite pleased with this contrib!!
one small thing i stumble accros, and hope you have a simple solution for:
I am trying to use function cat_filter() to make css flyout menu from jade v1.3 work with multisite.
When I work with " regular" folders and assign a couple of top categories and their children to a site, it works fine. But i am trying to create a root folder for each store with your new option CATEGORIES_ROOT. Your categorybox displays the correct categories. However, even though i used the cat_filter(), css menu now shows nothing, no categories at all.
***edit: i have now also assigned the root folder as well, and i now see the top category as menu item with the children as menu dropdown items. Just for the record.***
Is there something i have overlooked?
Help is very much appriciated. Thanks!
Lenny
