Two questions:
1. What is the advantage of Google Checkout? Right now Paypal is my only payment method, but I noticed when I Google some of the items I sell, the first block is a listing of those items in Google Checkout stores. Naturally I'd like to take advantage of that. ;)
2. Does the current mod actually work with 1.3.8a? I've seen two recent posts reporting the same problem. I have yet to get ANY add-on to work and I don't need any more problems. :(
1.What is the advantage of Google Checkout?
Gives potential customers another option besides
paypal(some people won't use pp at all)
Cheaper charges than paypal.
2. Have successfully used Version 1.47 with
zencart 1.3.8.a but only re digital downloads.
i.e. no shipping involved.
Googlecheckout mod is relatively easy
to install.
Requires acceptable SSL cert for live mode.
Sandbox mode does not require SSL.
HTH
Anyone having this problem?
Google checkout seems to work fine. People can place orders. The only problem is we are not getting the order emails (via zen cart). The emails from Google checkout come in. So we will have emails with orders 46, 47, 48 then someone will purchase via Google checkout (order 49). Then someone else will order via zen cart so we get email order 50, 51, etc. There would be no "regular" email for order 49. This makes it difficult for the shipping department to keep track of what they are doing.
Google Checkout version: v1.4.6a
Zen Cart: 1.3.7
Thank You.
Thanks, Misty. I think I'll just watch the thread for a while to see if it's working with 1.3.8a before doing anything.
Is there any way to get rid of free shipping all together for this mod? I am happy to just remove the code that adds it, just not sure what code to dispose of. Thanks!
Having some problems with Google checkout I am running Zen-cart 1.3.8a and Google Checkout 1.4.7, everything seemed to install fine, but when I got my first order I got an e-mail notification from Google checkout, but the order was not passed to Zen-cart I had to manually put it in, the second order I did not get notified at all I found out when the customer complained.
So what I am asking is where do I start looking for the problem, they seem to be able to use it, but nothing is passed to the cart, and I am not being notified, I am really lost here I don't want to turn it off, but I need it to integrate with the cart properly, any help would be great.
OK, nevermind, for some reason it's not showing free shipping now :)
BUT, orders are not showing up in admin. To answer the 4 questions:
1. Are you using live google checkout or sandbox? Live
2. If you are using live, do you have recommended Google SSL cert? Using Thawte
3. Did you do initial check, as per mod instructions, that your zencart store is connecting to google. Initial responsehandler.php check gives me a prompt for userid and password If I click OK with my merchant id and key, the responsehandler.php forever will then take me to my homepage, probably b/c of the error page setup in my .htaccess file. If I click on cancel and don't enter in userid and pass, then I get " This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required." 401 error.
4. URL of your site is? www.doodlebuckets.com
Any help getting things working in admin would be great! Thanks...
I'm reading some of the posts on this thread and getting concerned.
Setting up my site, I want to use only Google checkout -- I selected it for the very reason that I don't have SSL.
Now I'm reading that I have to have SSL?
Shoot! I really don't want to use paypal or get an SSL.
The sandbox GC is active right now on the store, but a few testers say it isn't working.
Help! I need to get up and running NOW!
Amy,
Slightly OT: Check your login page. There's an error message in red that you don't have a shipping option configured - Freeoptions
I found out that that option has to be configured just right. You need to have blanks in all options except the ones you want to use.
Check your installation again, especially where you installed the template files.
If your installation is correct, you will see the full-color icon on your shopping cart page and on your login page when you have items in your shopping cart. You may also see a grayed out version on the login page if there are no items in the shopping cart.
If you don't see it either place, check your installation. Try this thread:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74605
Do you have a Google Checkout button on your login page and on your shopping cart page?
If not, check your installation, especially where you installed the template files.

I turned it off and placed an order and it worked but it did not show up in my admin nor did I get notification of it. I did see this in my Who's Online:

Hi,
I hope no one is intimidated by my super ZC persona. I'm really quite a wimp.
I'm running ZC v1.3.7 with GCO v1.4.beta1
Has anyone had success with GCO using a shared SSL certificate?
I'll buy my own certificate if it'll solve the problem. Okay, I'm a cheap wimp.
Am I the only one who finds it odd that Google wants to become one of the multi-billion dollar players in the credit card payment processing business but without posting a telephone number with which to resolve problems!!?
Does anyone know how to contact Google for some help?
I have looked over everything and the permissions are right now but here is the error on the GCO side;
We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://www.gooeee.com/googlecheckou...nsehandler.php -- the error we got is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
I don't understand, the cert is installed and working
Is there anything in the logs on the Google side? These would be in your Google Checkout account pages.
How about in the logs on your zen-cart side? These would be in the writeable log files in your googlecheckout or googlecheckout/logs folders on your host.
I have a shared cert on my site and it works fine. You may have to change the setting in your Google Account integration API callback url. Check the URL on your cart when you have a secure page up, like the login page. The first part of the URL is what you need to use for your API callback.
You may want to upgrade GCO a couple of levels - to 1.4.6 (I think that's the one that goes with 1.3.7...)
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class googlecheckout in
/includes/modules/payment/googlecheckout.php on line 27
What am I looking for?
Also, http://<url-site-url>/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php is blank.
Well, I hope I can explain this right ...
First off, I am running ZenCart 1.38a and GoogleCheckout 1.47.
Here is the problem:
After uploading all my files for this new version, and uninstalling/reinstalling the GCO module, none of the settings will show in my admin when I click on the edit button. There must be a template or CSS issue or something of the sort, I don't know, but I can't get to any of the settings through the page.
I was able to adjust my settings through the PHPMyAdmin in the configuration table to get it working as it used to (I have been using GCO for over a year with various versions).
I am not a PHP whiz and I don't know where to look to figure this out.
Also, Please not I had just upgraded to ZC 138 and am using a modified version of the zencart_zen template.
All of my other checkout, shipping and payment modules are working correctly and I Can edit their settings normally.
Any Veterans able to help tonight?
Whenever you see "Cannot redeclare ..." start to look for a file that has been installed twice. In this case go to your Admin->Tools->Developers Tool Kit and search for "class googlecheckout extends base" in All Files (Catalog/Admin) in the last search option.
If you see 2 entries, you have 1 too many. Recheck that you have all your GCO files installed correctly.
It looks like you got your SSL working. I put an item in a cart and saw the GoogleCheckout button in full color, so it looks like you have a Google conection. I did notice the following on the shopping cart page at the bottom of the right column:
1146 Table 'zencart.products_description' doesn't exist
in:
[select distinct p.products_id, pd.products_name, p.products_ordered from gooeeeproducts p LEFT JOIN gooeeehide_categories h ON (p.master_categories_id = h.categories_id), products_description pd WHERE (h.visibility_status < 2 OR h.visibility_status IS NULL) AND p.products_status = '1' and p.products_ordered > 0 and p.products_id = pd.products_id and pd.language_id = '1' order by p.products_ordered desc, pd.products_name limit 10]
How are things working now? Are you past the java problem of a few posts ago?
Thanks for reply.
In The Developers Toolbox I get 1 result:
/mnt/target03/352298/352383/www.american-rc.com/web/content/shoppe/includes/languages/english/modules/payment/googlecheckout.php
Line #26 : class googlecheckout extends base {
When I add an item in the cart I do not see a Google anything just Paypal.
I installed the module per the "B" plan.
It appears that you may have the wrong googlecheckout.php file installed at the location you indicated. In my installation, I would get a hit on that phrase at includes/modules/payment/googlecheckout.php. There would be a googlecheckout.php with a bunch of "DEFINES" statements at the includes/languages/english/modules/payment/googlecheckout.php location.
I would suggest making sure that all the GCO files have gotten installed per the file structure in the installation zip file.

Hi,
We have figured out that the transactions are going through Google checkout OK but when you order via Google checkout the order is never logged in Zencart.
So if the customer selects google checkout as payment method then he/she never gets any kind of order confirmation from Zencart and an order number.
This could make things tricky in terms of managing orders, I don't know if it is possible to fix?
Thank you in advance..
You do not state if this is in Sandbox mode or Live mode.Quote:

Live requires Google acceptable SSL cert, sandbox does not require SSL,
but if order is getting to googlecheckout and then not back to zencart,
Googlecheckout is NOT connecting to your responsehandler.php file
It's in live mode Misty.
We already purchased the SSL and finished installing today. (thank you for your tip on that).
About responsehandler.php, how do we set this up?
Suggest you read INSTALL instructions and README file contained
in googlecheckout mod zip file..then if you wish to check your

Hi,
I entered the correct path in the Merchant control panel and I have been getting this
error message repeatidly:

SANDBOX account and test/check that it worked?
This is another issue, you are right for asking, but we wanted to start using the
module straight away once it was functioning order-wise. There are already some
processed orders and we are just hoping to finish this last piece of integration.
We would appreciate any further tips/feedback.
Thank you again,
Kostas

first, as instructions state, then you will have problems getting
Live mode installed/working.
Hi everyone. I'm having a few issues with my implementation of the GC module in ZenCart. If anything I post here has already been discussed/resolved in this thread, I apologize. I just don't have the time to sift through 250 pages this stuff. As a disclaimer, I have read in their entirety the INSTALLATION and README files supplied with the GC module and have made exhaustive attempts to seek answers on my own before posting here. With that said, here is some preliminary information about my setup:
ZenCart Version: 1.3.8
GoogleCheckout Version: 1.4.7
- I am using GoogleCheckout exclusively for processing orders. I have removed the default Checkout button from my templates to prevent users from clicking on it.
- I have set up a Sandbox account for testing purposes and it is working fine.
Here are the problems I am currently having:
1. When users are NOT logged in to a ZenCart store account before placing an order, the process goes as follows:
- User fills cart
- User proceeds to Google Checkout
- User confirms order
- User is returned to the "checkout_success" page of my site, but their shopping cart is still full.
2. If a user does not create a ZenCart store account, and proceeds to place an order, the process goes as follows:
- User fills cart
- User proceeds to Google Checkout
- User confirms order
- User is returned to my site, but is shown the "time_out" page, prompting them to enter their ZenCart store account login and password.
Both of these situations are problematic and will no doubt be extremely confusing to shoppers...
3. Orders appear in the Google Checkout admin site, allowing me to charge and process the orders. However, they do not appear in the ZenCart admin site.
4. I am having a great deal of trouble getting responsehandler.php to work, and this could very likely be the cause of the above issues. I am 99% sure that my web host is not using PHP as a CGI module (mod_php4 appears as one of Apache's loaded modules) and thus I have disabled the .htaccess method of authentication for responsehandler.php. I have set the permissions for responsehandler.php to 755 and 777 for both of the log files. However, the Google Checkout Integration Console and ropu's Responsehandler Test page both return a 403 Forbidden error.
This is my biggest problem at this point. I believe if I can get responsehandler.php to work, my other issues will be resolved as well.
Thanks in advance!
:yes:Quote:

1. Did you alter zencart googlecheckout admin settings to your correct
configuration for LIVE mode?
2. Do you have an acceptable level SSL cert that is approved by googlecheckout?
3. URL of your site is?
As I stated, I am currently using Google Checkout in Sandbox mode. Everything in the ZenCart administration panel is set up to facilitate this mode of operation.Quote:

1. We are running in Sandbox mode at the moment, so everything is set up to facilitate that mode of operation.
2. We are working on getting our SSL Certificate installed, but that shouldnt be an issue at the moment since we are using Sandbox.
3. Our site is cafeamoria.com. We have a couple "test" products up, so feel free to make an account and mess around with whatever you like. I dont think you can break anything at this point.
P.S. Is someone deleting my posts? I've had to repost this three times now...
Visited site.. checked your responsehandler.php,
which seems to be working ok...
HOWEVER.. your site is slow loading..has to load quicker
than 3 secs for googlecheckout to work.. test for yourself
at
http://demo.globant.com/~brovagnati/...ndler_test.php
ADDENDUM: Do you have correct settings at your Googlecheckout Sandbox admin page
at Google?
Thats very peculiar how all my other posts suddenly showed up. Hmm.
I'm not sure what criteria you used to determine that my responsehandler is functioning correctly, because ropu's test page and the Google Checkout Integration console are both showing that responsehandler is returing Error 403's. As far as speed goes, ropu's test page shows that responsehandler consistently loads in well under half a second. I am certain that all settings at Google Checkout are set correctly; Google Checkout is calling my responsehandler.php page and getting a response, just not the intended one.
Payment Information.
Help. What am I supposed to use on the Zen Cart Payment Information page so that people can checkout with Google on that page if they skip past the Google checkout button?
I am in live mode.

Thanks!
You have an SSL cert configured for
http://american-rc.com
but your zencart store is set for
http://www.american-rc.com
THIS MAKES BIG difference
Yes that's correct.
That is a long call to Geotrust.
Apparently I need to make a .htaccess to correct the issue or buy a new SSL.
What do you recommend? Can you help with the .htaccess redirect?
Why would you want to do that, when you can alter url for your zencart storeQuote:
Apparently I need to make a .htaccess to correct the issue or buy a new SSL.
via 2 configure files i.e.
/admin/includes/configure.php
and
/includes/configure.php
IF YOU ALTER EITHER OF THOSE< BACKUP FIRST !!
Its late.
I changed the https://www.domain to reflect what Geotrust shows in the results of clicking the Geotrust Logo to https://domain
What do I change now in the payment page?
You could remove checkout button so no option given to create account. This requires editing checkout page.
I thought of that before. I was looking for a more clever way to do it. Ok, done.
How do I tell Google Checkout to use the Shipping fees from my site?
My first real order was charged $1.00 for UPS Ground.
If I go in and try to buy something, the shipping fees look fine except USPS Express looks free.

Cheers Egg :shocking:
I have a 1.3.8a Zen Cart Install with Google Checkout v 1.4.7 in live (or sandbox) mode and Fast and Easy Checkout module installed.
The UPS shipping options do not appear on the cart. I do not know if this is an issue with Google Checkout or Fast and Easy Checkout. Thought I’d start here.
I did some searching but could not find a solution. If anyone has some suggestions on tracking this issue down I’d appreciate your help.
Thank you.
-Greg
Do the Shipping charges in GC on the Google site look right?
Google says it timed out.
We timed out waiting for your server at https://american-rc.com/shoppe/googl...nsehandler.php -- the error we got is: Read timed out Your server must respond faster to merchant calculation callback requests.
Is there something that I can change? Thanks!
Interesting.
GC button is fine again even before this. Can I turn off Fedex?
I really love my GC. I had my first RU order today and felt nervous about another fraud scheme from that hemisphere.
Authorization successful The customer's credit card was authorized for $199.75, and passed all risk checks. (Expires Apr 18, 2008 2:01:45 PM PDT)
GC was recommended to me for this and really feels great that GC actually added the Payment Request into Zen Cart to go with customers order. Too cool.
GC allowed an Order to pass through without checkout.
How'd this happen?
Anyway to put GC checkout into the payment page or at least past the "Sign In" so that this does not happen again?
Thank in advance.
Hi..
I am also using google checkout ... and im trying to read response xml...
as i got mail as seller and there is one mail to buyer... but the problem is ...order entries not shown in ZC Admin.. n i got error on my Sandbox Google checkout in Tool->Integration Console .. the error is : " We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://www.mysite.com/googlecheckou...nsehandler.php -- the error we got is: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Unrecognized SSL message, plaintext connection?
any one got this kind of error....
plz help..
Thnks.
I just got this new error has anyone seen this and know what to do?
The Http Get method is invalid to use for sending requests.
Can someone help me out here? This is the store layout right now
www.tha-truth.com/shop/
I can't seem to get google checkout to display properly. I searched almost every page of this thread and can't seem to find it. When you select google checkout it just sends you back to the shopping cart, help! Thanks in advance.
A couple of things: Is "https://www.mysite.com/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php" really the entry you made in the Google Checkout Integration settings? If so, you may want to use your actual site name, rather than "www.mysite.com" If this was just for demo purposes, ignore the previous. But you may still have an SSL certificate problem...
Secondly, you can test in sandbox without the SSL. Change your Google settings for sandox to "http://...." And be sure to change the GCO settings in your Admin->Payment Modules->GoogleCheckout Merchant Calculation mode to http.
Report progess here...
Try this thread:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74605
Never mind - I see you have the GCO button. Are you in Sandbox? I was sent to Google when I clicked the button...
yes on the google site GCO account after I ran the following Validating XML Messages to Google Checkout but the error message was only;
"The Http Get method is invalid to use for sending requests."
chain_man and webskipper,
I am also getting a timeout error as webskipper noted: (www.mysite.com is fictitious)
Have reduced the number of shipping options (USPS, UPS) no change in response.Quote:

Also checked SSL domain listed www.mysite.com is correct for me
anything else to check
Additional info for above post:
Here is my Shipping output from https://www.mysite.com/googlecheckou..._generator.php
It took (Average) 2.21744 Secs.Quote:
<?php
/**

*/
$mc_shipping_methods = array(
'ups' => array(
'domestic_types' =>

$mc_shipping_methods_names = array(

so the times to get these ship rates seems reasonable, I then tried to get shipping shipping methods again button and see what time values I would get after say 3 tries
anywhere from 2 to over 5 sec. not sure if there is a way to increase this timeout value for the responsehandler but that sure looks like it would be a good place to start.
anyone have any idea on where to look? :frusty:
Here is all I could find on the error from Google
http://checkout.google.com/support/s...n_errors_77777
As Chainman recommended to me, the more selections you have the long it takes them to ping your site, the more likely it will time out.
I just realized that since I moved my shop directory up to the top i had to tell Google where to find the response handler. No wonder my invoices were not going through. DOH!
Prices and time for Parcel Post are pretty much antiquated by Priority.
Do you realize that it only costs $5-13 per week for UPS daily pickup? Total control of tracking. Pickup on demand is @ $5 per package.
Try sending yourself a GC invoice and see what you get in the integration panel for errors if any.
Check file permissions:
/googlecheckout/logs/response_error.log file. Logs are not writable, set them to 777
Is Google Code for ZC still ok to use?
http://code.google.com/p/google-checkout-zencart/
I ran a test and it did not like my site. Something about invalid. Now, that seems hoky because people checkout with GC all the time and Google processes it all fine.
I was trying to follow the instructions carlozdre posted to cure this problem, and under htaccess Basic Authentication Mode, I set it to true, however when I click the link, that says f setted True you MUST configure your .htaccess files here, I get a 404 not found for http://savewizard.com/admin/htaccess.php.
What is supposed to be in the htaccess.php file to make it work?
Thanks
Jason
I get error as:
<error-message>The address that you are shipping from is invalid. Please send a correct US address.</error-message>
</error>
This is the part of my xml
<ship-from id="Store_origin">
<city></city>
<region></region>
<postal-code>bd215ee</postal-code>
<country-code>GB</country-code>
</ship-from>
What might be going on wrong here?
I am shipping from UK
then why does it states that invalid US Address?
Any idea?
Im just trying to figure out how to allow a customer in Ireland to order using Google Checkout. He cannot enter his address as it says my store doesnt ship to his location. Where do I change the locations I ship to? I want to ship anywhere in the world. Thanks in advance
hi all is there a way of getting GCO to act like my paypal checkout which runs in the correct way.
First of all i dont want GCO to show up in the product listings all i want to do is offer it as another payment option AFTER the customer has registered his/her details (created an account) and after the Your Shopping Cart screen, then you hit the goto checkout button (not gco button) >>>>to goto the step 1 of 3 delivery information screen then hit the continue checkout button>>> then you come to page 2 of 3 which is the payment information, NOW this is where i want GCO to show up in the payment method box alongside the paypal logo with all the shipping calculated by zen cart and then checkout with all the correct shipping added just like the paypal option does.
any ideas how to achive this anyone let me know.
thanks
egg:shocking:

Thanks,

GCO v1.4.5_CCS works fine for me. My shop started out as 1.3.7 and then when 1.3.8a was released I upgraded. GCO v1.4.5_CCS still works fine.
I have since installed another shop, 1.3.8a from the start and used GCO v1.4.5_CCS.
BROOOOOOKEEEEEEEN :P
In the new shop Im getting the problem where there is either no shipping (free) or every option including "Next day air" for only $1.
Also getting the integral numbers error, internal server error, we encountered an error trying to access your server. I've even gotten some java errors.
Is it possible that Google is somehow supporting sites that used GCO before a certain date but not after? I see that Zen is no longer in Googles list of favorite cart.
What a bummer.
Google Checkout 1.47 is correct version for zencart 1.3.8/1.3.8.aQuote:
I have since installed another shop, 1.3.8a from the start and used GCO v1.4.5_CCS.
I had that and it somehow worked when I was piggybacking with my first sites account with the new sites GCO. In the first site I have v1.4.5_CCS but on the second site I used the latest version of GCO which was 1.4.7. This pretty much worked. My orders didn't post back in the new sites admin because the account was for the first site. The orders did post there. Of course the customer ended up in the wrong store after checkout but it worked.
Now that I have created another account with google checkout for the new store it didn't work. Orders would be processed and the correct shipping was offered. No orders would post back to my shop though.
So I went and removed 1.4.7 from the new site (zc1.3.8a) and installed v1.4.5_CCS. Now its really broken.
How can this be?
Thanks,
John
didnt mean for the [IMG] in previous. Must have had the image in my clipboard and intended to paste the GCO version "v1.4.5_CCS". Sorry bout that.
Out With The Old and In With The New!
Still doesn't work. $1 dollar shipping for all and no order post back to ZC.
yes I have my dir 777 and my responsehandler.php address in google checkout integration is right.
still. . .
Bummer.
Not entirely sure how I got the $1 shipper to go away but I did. The order still doesnt post back to my store. When the customer has completed their google checkout they are left at google. Your order is complete, click here to return to mysite.com. When they click and are returned "Whoops your session has expired". Also, the items that were just purchased are still in the cart that "expired"?
Could this have to do with the changes that are made to keep from having the session ID be a part of the current page URLs for seo?
Thanks,
John
I had the same problem. What I have done is to go through an old layout that was working with Google Checkout and found what might be the difference.
For me, the way to sort it out was to set the GoogleCheckout Carrier Calculated Shipping to False.
That resolved the issue and it went through to Sandbox checkout with no problem.
Hope that helps
I also loaded up the Fedex module so I could make sure that no one selects $1 for Fedex. By controlling Fedex in the Zen Cart, it no longer was a shipping choice.
Also, the Shipper configurations are as follows: See attached image. I had to crop it to allow it upload. Using zero values disables that shipping option. You get the idea.
1) Shipping & Handling fees are Taxable in Texas (Sales Tax)
2) I use Zen Cart
The module doesn't give me a way to force the collection of sales tax on shipping & handling fees, even though my state requires it. It only collects sales tax on the item. I can set my cart to behave correctly but Google Checkout doesn't seem to pick that up at all.
Either this gets corrected or I go back to using PayPal because I do NOT want the state crawling all over me for an audit. And yes, the comptrollers office in Texas is that bad.
TIA,
RC
Hello- When I installed this mod when i click on my regular checkout, it doesn't go to the shipping page but just a plane white page. Does anyone know why this would be?
"The module doesn't give me a way to force the collection of sales tax on shipping & handling fees"
Whoa partner.
It Sure does.
Log into your Google account and set the tax for Texas. Settings -> Tax
Also make sue you have a Zones Definition for Texas tax.
