Apple Zen Drop Down Menus Hidden Behind Active X Control
Hi,
Thanks for the guideance on my first issue :)) it fixed the problem a treat...
The last crease that needs ironing out of my site is the drop down menus. When hovered over the dropdown drops behind my active X control rather than on top of it.
I have tried setting the properties of the active x control to an absolute position which had no effect.
my url is: www.kitchenandbedroominteriors.co.uk/store
Any help will be very much appretiated...
Many Thanks
Colin

That's not a real url.
There is an issue with flash being on top of the menu, you might be able to try the same fix:

Hi Jade,
ideally i need the background of the main page to be a fixed width. I know this will result is problems with larger fonts but its a sacrifice im willing to make if I have to...
If you look at the footer image on my site through both ie a fx you will see the problem its causing. My header image also needs to be the same size as the border on the main page so I am now thinking am I gonna have to create a fixed size background image for the main content as well?
Cheers

Well, the template was designed with a "narrow header version" which gives you the borders on the header, without having to put faux borders right onto the logo. Then the logo could be centered, and if the site got a teeny bit bigger in another browser, it wouldn't matter, because it would just have a little more white space on either side in IE.
As for the footer, you could use just a solid blue, or upload a bigger image, then it would enlarge as the site enlarges, just like my headerborder.gif (grey stripe image) does on my test site http://www.applezen.sagefish.com

You are a technical virtuoso of immense proportion.
The Apple Zen pull-down menu opens over the flash image as it should. It works just fine.
The secret is to make the flash object transparent with:
“<param value="transparent" name="wmode" / >”.

Hi All,
I have implement the above solution which works a treat in internet explorer, however it does not solve the problem in firefox. the drop down menu continues to drop behind my activeX control.
Any solutions for firefox???
Many Thanks
Colin

Remove it? LOL, just kidding. Kind of. I've never been a fan of flash. But it doesn't bug me nearly as much as when music auto plays on a site. :)
I see the menu just fine in my firefox.
