Ok, after much :frusty: I found a partial fix for my issue. Also, just for the record, I did start with a fresh stylesheet and followed the instructions for setting the width of my side boxes. Even after doing this IE still condensed the box heading down to the size of the text. :huh:

To correct this, in my Stylesheet on line 686 (may vary depending on your edits) look for {h3.leftBoxHeading, h3.rightBoxHeading}. I then entered values for the left and right padding. {padding:.2em 5.2em 0 5.2em;} This gave me a more desirable result in IE and FF lines up just perfect. You may need to play with the numbers to get things just right. Check out my results by clicking on Monumental Photos in my signature. Hope this helps someone down the road.

You know...I edited this on my PC originally (Xampp setup) then loaded it live. It looked fine in FF, so I thought I was all good (IE7 for the record).

I did like you requested and grabbed a fresh copy of the stylesheet and ran through the side-box setup. In my original setup I had both sideboxes, but left the right box turned on. I shut it off this time.

I also changed the width of the background sidebox image (sidebox.gif) to match the larger sidebox (caused by the length and amount of my category characters). Is this fluid by the way?

Also, I set the max and min widths of the site to 1000px.

I've never seen it happen, but you posted a "solution" which made me think perhaps its happening on my test site above.

When you increase your sidebox width, you should increase the sidebox image to exactly the same width that you have entered in the zen cart admin for the sideboxes. SO if you change the sideboxes to 180px, change the grey background image to 180px wide.

Ok, that makes sense. But, if I remember correctly (and I've done a lot of tinkering so I could be wrong) when I increased the size of the sidebox, it's position shifted. I'll play with it tonight and report back my findings.

Again, I think this has to do with the length of my Category descriptions. They extend past the 165px setting, but I told them not to wrap. The grey box is roughly 200px, so I'll play with sidebox width and let you know.

The site I'm working on uses the Cherry Zen template...I'm not sure if the problem we're having is related to the template or not. The problem is that the banners used in the center of the page are not aligned correctly...they are slightly right of center. Can anyone tell me where to look to make sure these are completely centered?

Hi Could you please look at my site www.ishoppa.co.uk I am setting up and have just completed the head - loads more to do yet.

If you check with IE the logo gif covers part of the top menu buttons, it seems to work perfect in Opera and firefox.

Also if I switch on the sidebox/search/header.php it installs another full bar above the menu with the search box, but leaves a white box in the menu bar below where the search should be, I enclose a image of it.

I have switched off the fluid and set my site to 850px

I would be grateful if you have a look.

It's because the 850px is too small. Either increase that 850 little by little till it goes away, or decrease the width of #navMain from 750px little by little till it goes away.

Since you're no longer using the fluid functionality, you can change this:

Can someone tell me if it is possible to add a border around the template I have tried numerous ways to no avail.

and one more thing I really need to know how i can have images instead of text for my side boxes.

Jade, great template, very impressed.

I wanted to change my logo to jpg and changed it in the header.php and also in the stylesheet, but for some reason its not showing. I changed the tagline wrapper to 10% and also to 0% but to no avail.

However I am getting part of the logo displaying where the top left hand search should be.

Please can you help

Now take a look with Internet Explorer 7 - the product info get pushed way to the right.

This was not a Cherry Zen issue but a zencart template issue that affects this template.

Just a simple question: Is there any way of increasing the number of rows per page in the column layout? At present it is limited to two - some of my categories have 40 products.

BTW, I love the Cherry Zen template. It is just what I needed.

If this Q has been asked I apologize, tried to find it with no luck.:no:

I want to completely remove the side boxes from certain EZpages not all of them. I don't know how as all the EZpages have the same "body id". So when I add the following code it removes the side boxes from all the EZpages:

padding-right:0;padding-left:20px;
}

Hi

I'd really be grateful for any help. A few weeks ago I did some changes to my site. It'd been running for about a year with Cherry Zen no problem

I'm using Safari and Firefox and all seems fine. I've checked on my husbands computer IE8 - and all seems fine

But I've had several customers saying that they can only see the headers and no site content

I have no idea where to start to look

Can anyone give me any advice

sorry - I guess it might help if I said the zen cart is located at

I seem to have found the issue was in viewing with IE 7 - and have corrected that by just repasting the original site widths etc from the style sheet

So far so good -

the site still looks fine in firefox - however in IE 7 and 8 it's not quite right

There is now a spacing issue with the left and right columns which I don't actually want being present again causing everything to be bunched up in the center on the product listing pages

Happy to keep fiddling around, but if anyone knows more than me (that's not hard!!) advice welcome :smile:

Looks good in IE8, Firefox, and Google chrome. I think you have it right now. :yes:

:-) thanks. It took me so long to work out how to view something in old versions of IE when he has 8 installed to try and find the problem I was just in a bit of a totally useless mode when I thought about trying to fix it

I've installed Cherry-Zen on www.eyewear2gogo.com and on a test site but it doesn't have a link to the 'About Us' page in the left hand categories box on either site.

In admin > tools > define pages editor - the 'about us' page is listed.
But in admin > define page status - the 'about us' page is not listed (so I've not inadvertently disabled it).

How do I get the 'About Us' page link to show in the left hand categories box?

This is using ZC v1.3.8a

That is very simple go to your store admin/tools/EZ_Pages click new file and insert what ever information you want your customer to know. Click side box, make sure your sort order is greater than 0 and there you go you have your side box. This has nothing to do with Cherry Zen Template just letting you know.

Well yours must have been different than mine. I never had an about us in the information side box. You can download the CSS Horizontal Drop Down Menu and have it in your menu that way. That is the only 2 choices I see you have.

First of all thanks for a great template.

The store is in showcase mode since all dresses are tailor made.

I still have a few issues/questions.

1. How do i change the "contact us" or in dutch "neem contact op" to a image?

2. When i look at a produkt in firefox the layout is the way i want. When i look in Internet Explorer 7 it is different. IE8 is fine.
Example: http://tinyurl.com/qvqxky just look in IE7 and IE8 or firefox

Last. I've been told that my frontpage is completely messed up in IE6. Don't have that on mt pc so can't check it maybe someone has the answer.

Most important for me is the "contact us" button for now so i can put a strong call to action there.

Ive installed the template, but i have no idea what ive done that all the colour as wrong, please see link below.

I have moved my images to the top under options and removed the dotted line by following posts in this forum but I can't find out how to spread the pictures out across 100% of the width. At the moment they are bunched together underneath the options box at exactly the same width. Can you give me a clue as to how to do this?

Check under "Configuration", "Layout settings", you have the first width for your left column set to 500px instead of 150px.

Yes I know. I want the left column to be 175px but it doesn't matter what width I set it at, it still gets pushed down below the main contents. I just set it to 175px and its still doing it.

They are both supposed to be set to 150px.
If you want them to be wider, you have to follow the instructions in the readme.

A little help. My header overlaps along with my banner and mainpage image when I restore down the page. I've only tested on FF and IE8 (my browser). I didn't change anything on the CSS file.

I don't know what the name of the button is. View the source of the page. It kind of looks like the "Log Off" button.

how do you move the logo.gif down? it is currently at the very top of the page and it seems to be "connected" to the nav main bar... so if i can move one down the other should move down also. i need to move them both down about 50px, but i can't seem to get them to move...

I seem to be having an upload problem when adding a product image. I usually just click the browse button, choose an image after filling in all pertinent info for the item. Recently I have been adding contributions and making changes and I noticed that its now giving me a "error:File upload not saved" which is making me think I screwed up somewhere. However when I typed the name on "Or, select an existing image file from server, filename: " - it works.

any help is appreciated.

I have searched assiduously through 'Layout Settings', and I cannot find any place where I can increase the number of rows per page for the products listed in the column layout. I must be missing something obvious.

I can change the number of columns per row in Configuration/ Product listing/ Product listing - columns per row, but what I need is to increase the number of rows per page. Ideally that should be an infinite number - the number of rows increases as more products are added. At present it just goes to two rows, then adds another page. I want the number of rows on the page to just keep on increasing.

I loaded a new logo.gif as my main banner but there are some visual problems.
The logo.gif isn't percfectly centered both in IE7 and in firefox (about 8-10px against right sidebox).
Besides, in firefox the banner is less width and far from the EZ page's grey line.

Hi, thanks for the template, it looks great.

I'm just starting to do some basic changes and one problem I ran into was with html paragraph spacing. When I separate paragraphs with the <p>......</p> it is not doing what it should under this template. Any ideas?

You can add some padding in the stylesheet, like this:

p {padding:.4em 0;}

here's a question.. I'm not all familiar with css but on my site www.delmarvatrophy.com I have put up a product with attributes.. I need to make the attributes centered in the box.. where and what code do I need to modify to do it?? I have tried css, and manipulating the tpl_modules_attributes but for the life of me I can't figure out what I'm missing...

I just switched from Wallet to Cherry Zen on http://griffindyeworks.com/store and I'm having some weird issues.

1. In Firefox, the background of the of the left sidebar & main content area isn't correct - it's all still body-background-blue. It's correct in IE7, however.

2. My right sidebar isn't showing up. I've checked everything. I followed the ReadMe to a T. I do have some boxes enabled on the right. I'm at a loss as to where else to look.

What do you have enabled for the right column? Try disabling whatever you have turned on there, and try other sideboxes. Perhaps a sidebox is causing you problems.

if you've made any adjustments to any files related to the right column, reload the original files.

I've got the excellent Cherry-Zen template installed together with the included Column Layout Grid and the recommended ImageHandler 2 mod.

All is working perfectly except that the Hover Effect of ImageHandler 2 is working on some sections of the site but not on others.

It is working perfectly on:
- All images in both sidebars, irrespective of what section the images are in. i.e. it is not the images themselves.
- All images in the full 'Specials' section
- All images in the 'Special' section that appears on the home page.
- All images in the 'Specials' sections on other category pages
- All additional images on the actual product pages
- All 'previous / next' images on product categories.

It is NOT working on:
- Any of the category listing pages (except the Specials)
- The 'All Products' pages
- The 'New Products' pages
- The 'Featured Products' pages

For example:
On this category page
- the category listing don't have the large image hover,
neither do the 'featured' listings
BUT scroll down to the 'Specials' and they do, as do all Images in both side panels irrespective of whether they are specials, featured, new etc. So the problem is with the page center panel and only on category listings pages, featured listings pages, all products listings and new listing pages.

As the site has other mods, I've set up another site from scratch with the Cherry-Zen, Column Layout Grid and ImageHandler 2 and then manually added some data and it has exactly the same problem as above.

I feel that it is probably a template issue and that perhaps ImageHandler is picking up the wrong page templates for the category listings, All Products and New Products pages. I've compared the source code from the sample Cherry-Zen site and can't find what is causing this. IH2 is very flawed, its not the template.

However, all those pages are working on my test site:

Under "Configuration", "Images" make the new products, specials, featured, etc. the same size as the ones that are working.

Thank you for your response - very much appreciated. I've played about with the image sizes but still no joy.

However, all the images are working perfectly in both sidebars. The problem seems to be not the images themselves but where the images appear i.e.
- the random featured product images work perfectly in both sidebars but not in the centre panel of any of the pages.
- the random new product images work perfectly in both sidebars but not in the centre panel of any of the pages.

On the other hand, the special product images do work in both sidebars AND in the centre panel both on the dedicated 'Specials' page and in the 'Specials' section that appears on all the category pages. (All products are 'specials' in that the original price is the RRP and the special price is our discounted price)

This issued has occurred verbatim on two sites, the second site set up from scratch with no other mods except Cherry-Zen, Column Grid and IM2. This is what makes me think it is the template pages that IM2 is perhaps not picking up correctly. The problem seems to be not the images themselves but where they appear in the templates that determines whether they will work or not.

What templates are used for:
- the category pages
- The featured products page (and Featured products section on the category pages)
- the new products page (and Featured products section on the category pages)
- the all products page

I'm thinking perhaps I should copy these over (if I knew which ones) from the basic_template folder into the cherry_zen template folder and see if that helps.

As IM2 works perfectly on the sample Cherry_Zen site I can't see why I can't get it to fully work on my two sites. I keep looking at your source code but it doesn't tell me which templates it is pulling from where. I'm just going around in circles.

Please ignore previous post - The IM2 hover effect is now fully working!

You were absolutely correct over the images sizes. I'd completely overlooked the 'Small Image Height' at the top of the Images config page. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction - very much appreciated indeed!
