Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
I dont know why you get <pre> thing in there, they should not be there at all.
Anyhow, something like this:
Code:
#### BOF SSU
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
# Make sure to change "zencart" to the subfolder you install ZC. If you use root folder, change to: RewriteBase /
RewriteBase /
# Deny access from .htaccess
RewriteRule ^.htaccess$ - [F]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.domain.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*) index.php?/$1 [E=VAR1:$1,QSA,L]
#### EOF SSU
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
I dont think we have any problem with redirection of old links.

We're running 1.37 with several add-ons. But we've set up a test shop using WAMP for a localhost test for our CreekTree shop, installed Module Manager, installed Simple SEO, configured it, and it appears to work fine in both Firefox and IE7. We've run the Google sitemap, Google base, & Live Update add-ons against the localhost database and the XML all appear to have worked fine. So it appears that basically we're in good shape.
But I keep coming back to earlier posts about redirects and the htaccess file, and I can't seem to get my arms around this, after several times thru more than this thread. Are redirects for old URLs an issue any more? If so, what do I need to do? If not, the next step would be backup the production online, and install there?

Many thanks for your input!

I think I get it because when I use Front Page and when I open the htacess file in the code format I get an <html> code added to the top as you noticed in one of my previous posts. I didn't know that the <PRE> is not suppose to be there. I will make sure to remove them .
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Many thanks to Yellow. After a couple of tries, I have this module working.
Since I faced some issues, I will put them here for others to see.
1) Make sure you install Module Manager first.
2) Make sure you are using the latest SSU.
3) Make sure you are running php5. If you run php4, you will notice errors after uploading. If you run php4, you can use .htaccess to change your folder to run php5.
4) Make sure you change the /cache/ folder to permission 777

Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Hello Yellow i'm been using SSU since beta 3.5.1 and now with last 3.6.6 i'm having trouble with Googlexml sitemap mod.
While with versions 3.5.x everything was working fine, with 3.6.6 the sitemap report urls to english pages that i haven't since my site is in italian.
I have checked the various options and set set default language identifiers to off since with this options i was having only the english pages active on my site, everythings was redirected to english version.
The sitemap looks like this
Code:
<url>
<loc>http://www.sportclubshop.it/ski--c-3_4/language/en</loc>
<lastmod>2009-01-12</lastmod>
<changefreq>weekly</changefreq>
<priority>0.5</priority>
</url>
<url>
<loc>http://www.sportclubshop.it/sci-sci-discesa-c-3_4</loc>
<lastmod>2009-01-12</lastmod>
<changefreq>weekly</changefreq>
<priority>0.5</priority>
</url>
As you can see the first url is in english
I have reset the cache and do the install following the infos in your wiki.
Zencart 1.3.8a
SSU 3.6.6
Regards and always thanks for great job
