As you can see, I am using a dark slide show for dower and the what's new text is black, can you point me in the right CSS file to edit to make it white or grey, and only for the slide show? www.el337.co.za

Just add your css code to the index_home.css file.

Rather than adding new code, which lines deal with the text colour of the item name and item price?

As with any of the template packages, any stable, properly installed plugin will work.
