Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
Hi! My client wants to have his ZC set up so that wholesalers can log in and see wholesale prices. I thought another plugin, Dual Pricing, would do the job, but it turns out he wants the wholesale pricing to also have tiered discounts, based on amount spent (i.e.: an initial, lower price; then 5% off if over $2,000, 10% off if over $5,000; and 15% off if over $9,000).
The prices can also be entered as actual amounts instead of discounts if necessary, but it would be great to be able to mix the two ways of representing them - especially since the % discounts are the same across the board, but based on specific lower initial prices.
Naturally, these prices need to only be visible to customers who have been granted access to them (wholesalers).
I'm looking at your various plugins and wondering if any of them would be capable of doing this out of the box (or with a minimal PHP tweak...)
Looking forward to your response - thanks!
Adam
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
Aha, wait a minute - perhaps I hadn't thought my problem through all the way. I suppose I could set up your Quantity Discounts plugin and ALSO have the "Dual Pricing" module running, and they would work together?
In other words, the quantity discount would be set up across the board (everyone would see them), but via Dual Pricing I could give certain customers a different (i.e. lower) initial price upon which those discounts would be based?
I'll have to check if this will work for my client (to have the discount applied even to non-wholesale orders). Probably will, since consumer orders are unlikely to be high enough to qualify for a discount anyway.
Of course, if there's a solution where a whole separate set of prices (initial and quantity) could be set up to only appear for select customers, that would be ideal.
Thanks,
adam
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
Set up a test cart and try it out. I don't support Dual Pricing so I have no idea what its quirks are.
Quantity Discounts by dollars spent should take care of your first question. This is a new feature; be sure to download the latest copy of the contribution.
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
Thanks! One last thing though, I'm working with a 1.3.7 ZC installation (and it's been pretty heavily modified so I'm wary of trying to update it). Any issues with using the latest version of your plugin with it?
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
I have install Quantity Discounts. What I need to work on my website is the following
A customer need to buy a minimum of 2 per item in a category with a total minimum order of 10 to get the discount, does anyone know how I can do this. At the moment I have it basically working using "total by category" but there is no way to check if the customer has ordered a total of 10 items.
Any help would be much appreciated
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
You have to write code to do this.
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
HI, We are having difficulties with the shipping estimator for one product, as we put in the dimensions of the box it is sent in (It contains 8 different items) however when someone orders two, the box is the same, but postage is over calculated. So I thought your discount module may help. If someone ordered multiple of this item can you tool provide a discount? Does the item need to be in a specific category? Thanks
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
I'm using the QTY discount mod without problem - but I just purchased the add-on to preview the discount in the shopping cart - I can't get it to work....the cart show only the subtotal.
I am using one of those dreadded TM templates, but I seem to have worked out all (and there were many) of the glitches, getting everything else to work. This one is stumping me...I don't have the add-on live as it is not working. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks!
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
Instructions for installing one of my mods are provided here:
http://www.thatsoftwareguy.com/zencart_install_mod.html
The most common problem people have with installing this mod is they forget to put the "inc_*" files under includes/modules/<your template> and just put them in includes/modules/custom (even though their template name isn't custom).
Of course, it could be a TM interoperability issue. The problem with the TM templates is that they embed extra logic in the templates which screws everything else up.
Re: Quantity Discounts for 1.3
Isn't this mod free? I saw someone is selling this mod...:shocking:
