Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
Yes, thank you, Eric,
That ran just fine. I got the message "39 statements processed", and now all the expected settings for Google Analytics including the conversion settings appear on the configuration menu.
Now I'll dive in and try setting it up. But since my GA account is already receiving data from my hand-inserted version, I probably won't know anything until I put it into production and wait to see if I continue to get the usual level of data. I'll also try a "Check Status" in GA, but I don't know if that will tell me anything at this point.
Again, many thanks!
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
Great. Glad to hear that Alan. Yes, 39 Statements is correct for that patch.
I uploaded a patched version the other night to the Contributions section (with the only change being the updated SQL query).
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
Hi I wonder if anyone can offer me some suggestions.
I've installed the files and uploaded the sql patch as per the instructions (the only thing i did different was to rename the your_template folder and although it doesn't seem to say to do this in the read-me i've read elsewhere that i was right to do this)
The 39 statements thing appears when i ran the patch.
only thing is that no configuration->google analytics configuration appears in the config menu in my admin.
any ideas what is wrong. I've done everything else as far as i can see in the instructions.
Thanks by the way for the mod (hopefully i get it working :-) )

What did you name "your_template" to?
Those files should be uploaded to YOUR own CUSTOM template directory name (assuming you are running a custom template).
So, for example, if the name of your custom (overrides) folder is "my_template" then you should upload all files in the "your_template" folder to the "my_template" folder on your server.
If you are not running a custom template (or using overrides as is recommended) then you would upload the files in that folder to the "default_template" or "classic" folders (depending on which of those two templates you are using).
Make sense?
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
yeah, I understand the template system and have the files in the correct places. I've gone to each individual folder to check the correct files are in the correct places.
Weird
when i ran the sql patch it said the statements were processed. Should i try to run it again or will that bugger things up? (not too sure when it comes to DBs)
thanks
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
just a thought but the only other thing that was out of the ordinary when i ran the sql patch was that my admin log needed to be reset. Would that have in someway affected the patch?
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
No. Th admin log doesn't have anything to do with the contribution. That log gathers contents the more you work in the admin (no matter what you are doing). Depending on how you have it set, and when you reach the limits, you'll need to reset it.
That is a feature of Zen Cart in general and has nothing directly related to the contribution other than the fact that you are working in the Admin during that time (just like anything else in the admin).
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
can i run the sql patch again then?
Any other ideas on what might be wrong? I've just finnished reading the entire thread and I'm none the wiser
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
There is no need to run the patch again. If it said 39 statements processed then that worked as expected.
You can run the script again, and it won't mess anything up, but it won't fix anything in this case either (the problem is not in the SQL queries, but with missing files). Upon reinstall, it uninstalls itself though (unless you are upgrading) so you will need to re-enter your Google ID etc....
The problem of items not showing in the drop downs are not due to the database updates. It is do in whole to some missing files (meaning you either uploaded them to the wrong directories, or did not upload all of them).
Make sure you carefully read the step-by-step instructions that came with it and re-check that you uploaded all files to the proper directories. Once you get the location of those worked out, the configuration information will show in your navigation.
Re: Simple Google Analytics - Support
There are only 4 files? is that right? I've re-downloaded the mod, re-installed it a few times, done everything in the read-me. checked each folder to make sure the files are in the appropriate places but still configuration->google analytics configuration does not appear in the admin
Has no-one else every had this problem. I'm running the most up to date version of zencart
