Zen Cart itself is compatible (ie: what you get when you unzip it), but the addons must stand on their own.
An addon's compatibility with PHP 5.3 depends on whether the author of the addon paid attention to PHP 5.3 requirements, or even knew about them. If it uses PHP functions which are being retired, then there may be some problems using that addon.

Is working....
Doesn't newsletter subscribe overwrite core files that have changed between v1.3.8 and v1.3.9? Did you manually merge the changes into the v1.3.9 core files?

Christian.

Yes, merged them.

Desktop Data is incompatible with PHP 5.3 as it uses ereg(). That's on my to-do list.

rss_feed_2-1-4 is working

Re: 138 mods tested on 139
I would think a better thread would be for MODS that DID NOT work in 1.39. Most of the 138a mods should work as it is only a maintenance release.
That being said,
FedEx 145
Fast & Easy Checkout V173
Super Orders 2.0 Rev 48a
USPS Autofill
Comodo Corner of Trust
still adding more...
all work fine for me on a Fresh Install of 1.39

If you find something that does not work, please create that thread.

Re: 138 mods tested on 139
can i just ask.. when ppl are testing mods...
are they looking at which mods affect core files, then comparing said files of 139 to 138a?... then merging the mod core changes with 139?
because when i first started i was just uploading, not realising that i was adding mods and there injecting 138a code into 139.
Also if you note that, i can add it to the end of the list.. like the example in the next post
well done on getting FEC to work on 139, me and many others never manage to get it working fully on 138a lol

If they're not then their tests aren't terribly useful.

If a core file is used, I merge the changes into the 139 core file and test them that way. Like you said swguy, it would be a waste to just install them and overwrite the 139 core code.
