Can anyone list the features of the manager module that is not present in the free one?

Bulk-generate Static URIs for Pages

[New For 1.4.0] Fallback URI Mapping/Import - Have any old Ultimate SEO URLs category, product, manufacturer, EZ-Page, product review page and product review info page URIs, and/or Simple SEO URLs category, product, manufacturer and EZ-Page URIs, automatically mapped to their new Ceon URI Mapping URIs: As these old URIs are encountered for the first time they are imported as historical URIs.
Set Auto-generation Templates
Define auto-generation “templates” for the entire store, or for individual categories, for manufacturers, EZ-Pages or “other” pages. E.g. Products could have their model included in the URI: /{category-path}/{product-name}-{product-model}.
Manage Current/Historical URI Mappings and Aliases
Add, edit and delete URI mappings for any Zen Cart page through its intuitive interface - there's no longer any need to manually edit the database!
[Coming in 2.2.0] Examine, add and delete historical URI mappings - prevent broken links by redirecting the visitor to the current URI for any page.
[Coming in 2.4.0] Add, edit and delete URI mapping aliases for other pages - optimise the site's keywords further!
Ceon URI Mappings Manager can quickly generate/add URI mappings for each category/product/page for an existing store.
I removed some of the "advertising" part of it to limit to just the features.
Its basic advantage is a simple way to re-generate urls after an import of new products, or after a reorganisation/moving stuff around/renaming of categories.
I also use a custom url format in some sections.
I have never not used it, I bought it from the off, to show support for the work involved in the rewriter "free" code..
I am surprised to see it is not offered at ceon.net, but contact them to pursue this.

Can it be done without the manager, yes. Whatever process is used the mappings are intended to always exist with old mappings being disabled and new ones becoming the active mapping with only one record being active for any asociated destination.Quote:

On my slow laptop it took 15 minutes to create 575 urls of
shop/en/category/product and
shop/es/categoria/producto
I did not have to further modify the .htaccess for the links to work.
Calls to shop/category/product were redirected to shop/en/category/product correctly.
So the answer to your post is yes the process works very easily with the Mappings Manager.
Now, from where are you intending to source the software, since it is not offered on the CEON site?
