Re: French language pack 1.3.8 availability
Hi people !
French translation is near to be finished but I will need some beta testers for shipping and payment modules.
I never used them and dont really understand how to configure them, so if you have time, have little skills in french, please help me to confirm that the translation is correct (or not to bad).
Here is the test server:
http://megaman.hd.free.fr/zencart_temp/
if you need a admin account, just PM/email me.
thx a lot.
Regards,
Re: French language pack 1.3.8 availability
megaman:
I did a checkout simulation. Here's what I saw:
- After choosing checkout, in the Paypal checkout box at the end it says:
"...un payement rapide." It should be "paiement".
In the delivery methods, I don't understand what those should be:
- Frais de Livraison / Montant
- Option de Livraison Offerte / Livraison offerte
For the store pickup option, I think "Retrait sur Place / Ramassage sur Place" is a good tranlation, the same as the 1.3.7 language pack, but I personally don't like it. For customers with 1.3.7 carts I change it for "Ramassage sur Place / Ramassage sur Place".
For USPS "État-Unis" appears as "E´tats-Unis".
What is the "Transporteur" delivery method?
For the payments, you forgot the uppercase "C" on: "chèques cadeaux".
What is a "Contre-Remboursement"?
Thanks for your hard work!

"ramassage sur place" is not good for this kind of operation. "ramasser" (the verb "ramassage" comes from) means to take something from the ground, like garbage or mushrooms. "Retrait sur place" is the common terms used when you have to look for your delivery at the post office for example.

"frais de livraison/montant" is the translation (incorrect I think) for "flat rate/best way"
"option de livraison offerte/livraison offerte" stand for "freeoptions/free shipping". I didnt know how it would print, so it was how I differenciate freeoptions from freeshipper module. I think I will put "Frais de port offert" instead.
"transporteur" is the translation (incorrect too) for "zone rates"

"contre-remboursement" is the french expression for "Cash on Delivery"
Re: French language pack 1.3.8 availability
Thanks for the info on "payement" and "ramassage".
For the following, here is what I would suggest:
Quote:
"frais de livraison/montant" is the translation (incorrect I think) for "flat rate/best way"
--> tarif fixe/?? (not sure for "best way")
Quote:
"option de livraison offerte/livraison offerte" stand for "freeoptions/free shipping". I didnt know how it would print, so it was how I differenciate freeoptions from freeshipper module. I think I will put "Frais de port offert" instead.
--> option gratuite or option sans frais / envois gratuit
Quote:
"transporteur" is the translation (incorrect too) for "zone rates"
--> what do you think of taux par zone or tarification par zone
Re: French language pack 1.3.8 availability
Hi,
sorry for the delay, I didnt have time to work on the translation during the last few weeks.
Anyway, I dont have a lot to do to finish it but I will need help again.
In the paypaldp and paypalwpp payment methods:
- what is a "Maestro Issue No" ?
- what is the difference between "Credit Card First Name" and "Cardholder Name" ?
- what "funds-Capture" stands for ?
Thx in advance.
Regards,

Maestro is a specific type of card that in addition to the normal card number and security number on the back has a separate number that indicates which of the cards issued on the account this is. Usually the first issued is 1, the second 2, etc. Other cards just build this into the 2-3 digits of the main card number.

The first name is literally the first name of the card holder (and in the file is followed by last name, which would be the card holder's family name). Cardholder Name is, I suspect, possibly misleading in the English version of the language file. The Paypal value is card owner and many business cards list the cardholder first and the card owner (i.e. a company underneath).

I suspect that this is another error in the English and should read "full capture".
Re: French language pack 1.3.8 availability
OK !
I finished the translation, at least the last sentences I noticed still in english.
I will create the final pack tomorrow, until then, if some people can test the site:

Hope you will not find too many bugs :p

Re: French language pack 1.3.8 availability
Sorry I couldn't test earlier, I was very busy this week.
I reviewed your test site and everything seems fine.
Thanks for your contridution, it is much appreciated.
Re: French language pack 1.3.8 availability
Hi,
I made a full french pack for Zen Cart 1.3.8a, it should be usefull for french people as there's no need to copy or modify any files.
It's ready to use and translating : catalog side, admin side, Zen Cart installer, and database content (configuration, configuration_group, and so on)
You can download this Zen cart french pack here.
Feel free to report any bugs, i'll add it in download section if it's useful .
Best regards
