I'm out right now, but here is what I have: ups, usps, PayPal and stock by attribute. Since having the issue I've installed ckeditor and event calendar. Zen cart 1.5.4, template version "latest" here on the site (looks like a February 14 upload date). In a bit if still needed I'll get links for them once I'm on a desktop.
Thanks soooooo much!!!

The problem is not template related. I would look to the interaction between other plugins/modifications you have made to the template.

admin--configuration--dynamic drop downs:
Code:
Enable Dynamic Dropdowns 1
Product Info Single Attribute Display Plugin multiple_dropdowns
Show Out of Stock Attributes True
Product Info Multiple Attribute Display Plugin sba_sequenced_dropdowns
Mark Out of Stock Attributes None
Display Out of Stock Message Line False
Display Javascript Popup for Out-of-Stock Selection False
Prevent Adding Out of Stock to Cart False
SBA Number of Records to Displayed 25
admin--configuration--products with attributes stock settings:
This one I don't have??... I have a "products with attributes stock (aka SBA) setup", but that doesn't have "settings" more where I installed or can run optional scripts (none of which I ran).
In the working example you posted, are you using "SBA Select List (Dropdown) Basic" in the option name manager for option type? And can you try my settings above in your working example, and set all the inventory to zero and see if it still works? In the mean time, I'll re-download and re-install a fresh winchester_black, and see how that goes.
Is there any build that is "newer" then the Feb one posted here that includes the little fixes like the search box, etc?
I appreciate all your efforts to help me out!!! Hopefully I can get this sorted out :frusty:

I added your admin--configuration--dynamic drop downs values, changes all variants quantities to 0 and it is broken. Switched to the classic template and it is broken in the same way so this is not a template problem.

Hi, I have managed to edit the social media buttons in the footer and was wondering if it is possible to edit the social media buttons in the product pages. If so where would I find the code. (I have done searches, but to no avail).
Thanks

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
I have probably three easy questions, but don't see the answer in the thread, so figured I'd just throw them out here...
1) In what file exactly can I change the background color to a tiled image?
2) How can I change the length of the site tagline? It's incredibly short when viewing it in Ipad, vertical display.
3) Any way to move the custom slide out? In ipad it covers the site tagline when in vertical mode.
It seems iPad in vertical mode is the real pain in the you know what...
Thanks as always Anne. You're the best!

I can get u started.
1. Style sheet.com, you will see background on many objects. You can use the Firefox tools to help you find the containing boxes to change.
2. Try the same place but not positive, I'm not on computer to check.

1. You will make changes in the stylesheet.css file
2. If you want to make changes on tablets edit the responsive_tablets.css
3. Change the slide out position at the bottom of the includes/templates/winchester_black/common/tpl_main_page.php

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Thank you so much! You're always a fantastic help. Really appreciate it!
I ran into one last possible bug...(I'm not sure if it's a bug or if I just messed something up), but this should be my last question (hopefully).
After making the adjustments you mentioned in earlier posts to fix some of the other bugs, it seems that the Top Specials bar is not working correctly on mobile phone and iPad when in vertical mode.
The link image (i.e. 'Specials'), gets pushed off the screen to the left when viewed in vertical ipad and phone. On the desktop and iPad horizontal it's fine. I guess there is more room for it to show up. But when in vertical mode...not appearing.
What would I need to change in order for this to show up correctly in those two situations?
Thank you very much again. If anyone else ran into this problem and figured out how to fix it, I appreciate your help as well.

You can edit the responsive_mobile.css stylesheet for phones and the responsive_tablet.css stylesheet for tablets. Both are in includes/templates/winchester_black/css

Thank you Anne. I was able to fix it for the iPad in vertical mode, but for the life of me, I can't get it to work in mobile. I'm assuming I have to add: .top-specials{margin-left:10px;} somewhere in the code, but it's not showing up no matter where I put it.
The gray part showcasing the text 'FREE Shipping on all orders over $50.00!' shows up, but the link part for 'Specials' is absent.
Maybe you could point me in the right direction as to what I need to add and where? Thank you very much again, and I hate to be a pain. It's just this one last thing and then my shop is pretty much complete.
Thank you.

The specials is hidden on phones due to width constraints. If you want to show it you will have to remove the display:none; from the element .top-specials
Thanks,
Anne

Well, that's what I did to fix it on the iPad. But there is no code for it at all in the mobile version. The text is there though, just not the link. Since it just sits at the top of the header, it's not really an issue with size. I'm not referring to the pull out tab, rather the top message in gray.

Above appears to be the end of a conversation that I too could use a little help on... Logo on "desktop" load is left justified, with tools/menu options on the right side. Downsizing the view moves the menu options "out-of-the-way" of the logo and the logo appears to become centered through the remaining downsizes... Been requested to center the logo when viewed with high resolution, but then I see the loss of land if something isn't done to keep the rightside tools in place... Seems to be a couple too many things for me to figure out at the moment and been at it for WAY too long already.
Site is: http://sturgisrings.com
Assistance requested. Again, would like logo to fill more of the main screen (preferably centered) but not to necessarily push everything that is located on the right side out of the way (down) causing the header to be much larger than it is now. If it could be underneath that content I think the site owner would be satisfied. :)

To start, adjust the width of the #logoWrapper. If you want the logo to be centered you will need to remove the float:left; from the #logoWapper and the #logo. You will probably need to make adjustments to the other elements after you do this.
Thanks,
Anne

Hi
I got my image to center last night but I did a few things and I'm not sure all are needed. And I got too tired for more testing, sorry. But you can it on my play site:
testzen.thestitchsanctuary.com. I won't be home until later tomorrow.
I just used the demo. I took out a few floats, added a text-align:center, and put in a paragraph with the class center. Oh, and the stuff on the right was set with a -40 margin so I moved it to like -90 (or something). Here is the change I made to the header file (I tried to do it all in CSS but couldn't figure it out yet)
Code:
<!--bof-branding display-->
<p id="logoWrapper" class="center">
<div>
<div id="logo"><?php echo '<a href="' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . '">' . zen_image($template->get_template_dir(HEADER_LOGO_IMAGE, DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images'). '/' . HEADER_LOGO_IMAGE, HEADER_ALT_TEXT) . '</a>'; ?>
</div>
<?php if (HEADER_SALES_TEXT != '' || (SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET2 != '' && $banner = zen_banner_exists('dynamic', SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET2))) { ?>
<div id="taglineWrapper">
<?php
if (HEADER_SALES_TEXT != '') {
?>
<div id="tagline">
<?php echo HEADER_SALES_TEXT;?>
</div>
<?php
}
?>
<?php
if (SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET2 != '' && $banner = zen_banner_exists('dynamic', SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET2)) {
if ($banner->RecordCount() > 0) {
?>
<div id="bannerTwo" class="banners"><?php echo zen_display_banner('static', $banner);?></div>
<?php
}
}
?>
</div>
<?php } // no HEADER_SALES_TEXT or SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET2 ?>
</div></p>
What I'm not sure of is how it will work with responsive. I'm not sure about the negative margin, and I'm not sure about putting the paragraph in. But it might be a short term fix.
I tried to edit your code to make the same thing happen but I could not get it to align. I have a theory and maybe Anne can confirm. The logo and tagline are each in their own DIV and then together in logoWrapper div. Since you don't have the tagline showing, the holding space for it goes away, causing them not to align like mine do.
Hope this helps in some small way.

The url for your image is incorrect. Upload the image to your template images folder (this is a template related image) and then add this to your body tag:
Code:
background: #000 url(../images/yourimagename.jpg);

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Hi Anne....
Thought it was all good, but noticed one last bug..
In iPad portrait mode, the little black button that was missing before at the very top that can take you to specials, or whatever is there now, however I can't click on it to do anything. It's only not working in iPad portrait. Do I have to change the z index or something? Or what should I change specifically? Thanks...

Yes, my guess is that it is a z-index problem, or that you need to add widths to the elements to prevent them from overlapping one another.
Thanks,
Anne

For base "presentation", image spread out to fill the window "centered", tried to move the bulk of the code for the right side desktop content to before the logo so that it can overlap with the logo, tried z-index optons as orignally presented, saw the post from lruskauf (didn't try solution yet as didn't want to pass up the offer from the template designer to offer suggestions). Haven't also checked into other "modes" yet, one step at a time, right? :)
Thanks in advance!

Hi Anne...:(
So I just spent the last few hours trying to fix this...I tried changing the z-index and setting the dimensions of each element, but that didn't fix it. It seems like the wrapper itself is on top of the elements, but how is that possible since it works perfectly fine in every other state except for the tablet portrait mode.
Any idea what I could do?
Sorry for being a pain...I just really really want this to work already so I can move on to finishing this.
Thanks...

Original issue:
In tablet portrait mode, the little black button (tpl_specials) that can take you to specials, I can't click on it to do anything. It's there, but I can only hover and not click on the button to take me to the link. It's only not working in iPad portrait.

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Does anyone know how to correct this? In "all products" the top right and bottom right displays SHOW_PAGEVIEW_BUTTON. Once clicked it then shows "SHOW_ALL_BUTTON" instead of displaying an image. I ran the developers toolkit and it comes up in includes/classes/split_page_results.php . I cannot find where it links to an image/ button to correct this. Once again, thank you all for your assistance. This is a great template.

User on ZC 1.5.1.
SSL enabled.
Problem observed is/was that when accessing the contact us page (/index.php?main_page=contact_us) the file tpl_contact_us_default.php had to be modified to support sending the contact us page entered information. Otherwise when trying to submit the form the page would reload, all of the entered data would be dropped, and the visitor would be advised to fill in the information that was just entered... Also firefox upon submission would indicate that the submitted content was not encrypted and asked to continue moving forward.. The login page had no problem and remained secure upon submission as well as other tested https: pages.
The fix was to modify includes/templates/winchester_black/templates/tpl_contact_us_default.php line 18 from:
Code:
<?php echo zen_draw_form('contact_us', zen_href_link(FILENAME_CONTACT_US, 'action=send')); ?>
To:
Code:
<?php echo zen_draw_form('contact_us', zen_href_link(FILENAME_CONTACT_US, 'action=send', 'SSL')); ?>

There is one additional thing that I forgot to mention about the setup on which this problem appeared, an .htaccess rule was/is in place that forces all pages to https, but the HTTP_SERVER constant in the includes/configure.php file is set to http:.
That said, the above change for the contact_us page to use SSL was something added in either ZC 1.5.3 or 1.5.4.

Yes, even though I have not had any other reports of problems with this, I checked the template_default file and it did have the change so I will definitely update the template package file ;)

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Hi, I a currently editing your Winchester Black template. I like it and appreciate what you do. Could you shed some light on how I can resize the slideshow. Currently it goes edge to edge and I would like it bring it in a bit. I would really be thankful, I have not been able to find anything on this. Also, on the top navigation menu Under the Information tab, I am able to add a new link under the Useful links subcategory, but how can I go about getting the link directly under the Information link? Thanks again!

Change the slide show dimensions in stylesheet_flex.css
Add menu items in includes/templates/winchester_black/templates/tpl_modules_mobile_categories_tabs.php
Thanks,

Nothing about the slideshow seems to change when I edit this line from stylesheet_flex.css as stated above.
.flexslider .slides img {width: 100%;height: auto !important;max-height: 480px;display: block;min-height: 480px;}
Whether I change the width percentage (which is what I want) or change the min/max height(dont need this changed was just testing) I am not getting any chance on my page. Any ideas? Do I need a correction somewhere else to coincide by chance?

youll probably notice this but figured i should mention it. the pics that are showing now are layed over a black rectangle image that expands across the page so my actual image wouldnt skew, this was just me doing a temp. work around.

If you turn off your css/js loader I can tell you the line number.
in stylesheet_flex.css change .flexslider .slides img width from width:100%; to width:your percentage; and then add margin:0 auto;
Thanks,
Anne

Thank you. I will get you a donation soon. Just waiting on a new bank card. So I am having this issue where I make changes to the css file and the site isnt changing. but other times, doing it the exact same way the change will take effect. This is a major hassle as I am in the learning phase and try to make changes 1 at a time to see what affect they will have on the site. However this isnt very constructive if the change doesnt take affect. I googled around and saw some other people complaining of the same issue but didnt find much of a solution. People mainly just saying to check to make sure you are editing the right file, which I am. So I was hoping that since you do some much work that you would have come across this and might have a fix. Thanks again

Also the slideshow changes worked to an extent. the picture size is changing but I have white on either side so its like the box the slideshow is in isnt adjusting down to the size of the picture. ideas?

Take out the background color on line 41. Also remove width:70%; from line 25 and add a width that looks good with your images.

Star Ratings in reviews
Hi Anne,
First of all thank you for all your work and for making this wonderful template available. The more I customize it for my site, the more I love it. (Site in development)
I went on to test the review page and frankly I found the star rating layout to be a bit confusing. The radio boxes and stars all run together and its hard to make out what to click on. sadly it was the same on iPhone.
anyway to just put 5 star shaped radio buttons or boxes and make all the precious buttons to be checked along with the chosen one?
or just 1 star before 5 radio buttons followed by 5 stars to signify the scale of the review.
Where can I change this layout?
Reviews are essential to my site.
Thanks in advance

Boy my fingers are not working today. Correction:
Is there any way to just put 5 star shaped radio buttons or boxes and make all the previous buttons to be checked along with the chosen one?

I think I got it. It may not be the best way but it works for me.
What I did was change from a single division for the 5 different ratings to a division for each rating in tpl_product_reviews_write_default this gave me a radio button and its star rating on each line.
of course I'm always open for a better way.

The easiest way to make changes would be to use css. If you post a link to the page on your site I can take a look.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Star Ratings in reviews
This is weird thing I just noticed - when using featured products on front page - I've got 4 - they show all 4 in a single line, with no arrows (since only 4 items, nothing to scroll). But if I login, the last item drops down to form a second row and the scroll arrows appear. If you hit the scroll arrow the page jumps to the top. I don't know if this is new or I just didn't notice before as I rarely login to my own site. I've customized this template so I suspect I mucked something up. Anything obvious?
I'm on zc 154, many mods; site is meafordwool dot com

I'm wondering if you fixed this by now? If not, I just logged in (created a test user) and the home screen featured products does not change. I get 4 across before I log in and after I log in.

PS: I just checked my site and I mucked it up too, lol. Nice socks btw.

Re: Star Ratings in reviews
Having a little trouble changing the trash can icon on your template. I uploaded the new image to winchester_black\includes\templates\winchester_black\images\icons\small_delete.g if and the only change I see happening is the current trash can image changing to the new size of the new icon but the picture itself is staying the same as the default can. Any thoughts? highcaliberclothing.com

You might need to clear your cache to see changes. Make sure that you have uploaded the image to the correct place on the server and overwritten the current image.

I created an account and am logged in and do not see the problem. What device are you using? what browser? what size monitor if you are on a desktop/laptop, etc?
Thanks,
Anne

Desktop issue only. Windows 10. Firefox is my primary browser but tried in Chrome and Edge and occurs there for me too. Resolution 1920 x 1080. Tried lower res and makes no diff.
In Edge (only), when I signed in I got a 'only SSL content is showing' message. I then realized that the TAB feature wasn't in top left as usual but bottom left, off screen. It had an extra title on top of TAB - 'Content'. and a mouseover on that title presented 'link for non js users'. But, when I clicked the 'show all content' message bar on the ssl message, all returned to normal.
I went back into Firefox and realize same exisited with the TAB - just didn't notice because it was offscreen, and in Firefox there was no message about SSL content showing only. The TAB did have the extra 'content' title as above.
Since this occurs only when I log in, would this have something to do with my browsing default setting. Or could this be related to my zen config settings to make everything SSL (as being discussed elsewhere on forums). Or?

Of for cripes sakes. Did a search on this forum and found clue from one of my own posts when I was building the site. I had changed HTTPS to HTTP server in the templates/winchester_black/templates/tpl_index_default around line 49 - this because working on WAMP test site I was getting errors. I even commented that I hoped I remembered to undo the change when I went live. ARCH. Sorry to have bothered everyone.

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
What would I need to add to the css to have just the background for the product pages be white (https://bellaornamenti.com/store/) I'm usually great with customizing the templates, but I'm stuck on this one. Thank you

That is funny, btdi. But you actually helped me, I hadn't looked at mine in a bit and found I was having same problem. Exactly. Now I hope my records show me what dumb mistakes I made.

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
I'm on my ipad and it is harder to see but it looks like removing the background color ( or changing it to white) in a few places. Try top-middle for the top and maybe top wrapper. For the bottom, look for that same purple color in another css element. These are in style sheet.css.

Hey Anne, I noticed on your template the free shipping module isnt showing on the checkout page. I can set the free shipping options (if over a certain amount you get free shipping) but the other free shipper module isn't showing. Zones are set to none and the module shows green. I am also having this issue with a payment module I added. No zones are set and it shows green in admin-modules-payments. Any Ideas on the issue here?
Thanks!

There is nothing in the template coding that would cause this to happen. Do you have any error logs?

nothing in the error logs, no. At first I thought it was maybe me and how I installed the payment module (although I havent had trouble with any others) however I didnt install the shipping one that is having the same behaviour, so i figured I would inquire

These errors are telling you that the files are missing. Upload the files from the template package.
The authorizenet problem is not template related. Do a forum search to see if any one else has had this same problem.
Thanks,
Anne

If you have reviews turned off, you can turn them back on in admin--catalog--product types. Just click on the product type and then click edit.

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Hi Ann,
I wonder if you can point me in the right directions on a couple of things.
1. the 3 boxes below the main page slider. first one is new items, second one sale and the 3rd one has beads and 25% off on your demo. The first two are fine for my application but the 3rd one on the right has me baffled. I would like to change it to go to a category (in my case Bargain bin) when pressed. I simply could not figure out whereto make the change or how the existing one works.
2. I have not been able to find where to change what displays on the browser tab. I taught it was in the languages>English and I did the change there but it still displays winchester black zen cart template. I want it to display my shop name. where/how can I do this?
Thanks for your help

1. The answer is in the readme.html file.
2. This question has been asked and answered so many times already on the forum and there is also a tutorial about it in the FAQs section. You need to be sure that you are editing the file in the template override folder and that you are uploading it to your server and overwriting the file already on your server.
Thanks,
Anne

I don't mean to be disrespectful here, I have read all the comments on this thread several times and I think I had read the one about the browser naming tab but couldn't find it again. I do understand that seeing the same question several times is annoying for pro's such as yourself, but perhaps the answer was never clear enough for us DIY folks with not much knowledge to do this but determined to succeed. Personally I have read everything I could on both this thread, the read me file and searched zen cart forum as well. I for one, kept on looking for the override directory that does not exist. after more then 5 days looking for the answer I resorted to ask the question in hope for a clearer response. after searching zen forum for the meaning of override and custom I finally found where to make the changes and succeeded in renaming the browser tab.
For others that may be struggling with this, just go to zencart > includes > languages > English > winchester_black and modify the meta_tags.php file. A simple answer like that should avoid repeated questions on this.
As per the 3rd box BELOW the slider, I still can't find where to make the change. I read the read me file several times and look for this under every item there with no avail. it's not in the banners, flex footer or anything else I tried. perhaps the answer is there and I can't find it, see it, or understand it. Or perhaps I need a much simpler answer to achieve this task. I guess I will keep trying till I do find it.
I am a big fan of your work and appreciate that you make these great templates available to us for free. I always try to find an answer anywhere before I ask a question, but some times I am just totally lost. I try to learn these things on my own even though some times I get very frustrated.
Again I apologize if this sounded offensive. It wasn't meant to come across that way.

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
I finally did find where to make the changes to direct the last box below the slide banner to a category. It wasn't easy but i'm learning.
For other DIY like me make changes to this file
includes/languages/english/html_includes/winchester_black/define_main_page.php
in my case I changed the line that say:
<a href="index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=18" ><img src="includes/templates/winchester_black/images/home1.png" class="home-img" alt="your product title" /></a>
to this:
<a href="index.php?main_page=index&cPath=17" ><img src="includes/templates/winchester_black/images/home1.png" class="home-img" alt="Bargain Bin" /></a>
Please note that "index&cPath=17" is the ID for my category.
Hope it helps someone else.

I am happy that you figured it out. Instructions for customizing these home page images are in the readme.html file included in the template package.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Hello! Sorry if this has been asked before. On each product page there is supposed to be the social media icons. These show up when I'm viewing a product on my site on my iPhone, but they are nowhere to be seen when I view it on my pc.
I just read through the read me again thinking I missed something that I have to activate, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I do sometimes change the files, so it's possible that I messed something up somewhere. The weird thing is that I have seen them on a PC that wasn't mine before, just never on mine.
The pale grey social icons in the footer show up just fine, but I really need the Pinit button :)
I'm going to go look at includes/languages/english/winchester_black/product_info.php and see if that's where the code should be. But if anyone has any aha moments come to them about this, I'd love it hear it! Thanks! Oh, and site is in my signature.

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Oops, I believe it's this file: includes/templates/winchester_black/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php, and it shows that I do have a later modification date than other files, so I have messed around with this file...

</div>

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Sooo.... I looked at my site on someone else's computer, and indeed the row of social buttons is showing up on each product listing! So the question is, why don't they on my computer? I've tried it in both Chrome and Firefox, and they just have never showed so long as I'm on my computer. Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you have ad blocker installed in your browsers?
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
Hi, I have not consciously put ad blocker on my browsers, not really sure what it is (though I can guess from the name), so I don't think I have it on my browsers....

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
If you view the source code on your computer, do you see anything in there?
Have you cleared cookies?

Re: Winchester Black Responsive Template
hello, I am stuck trying to change the color of the item descriptions once they make it to the cart. I have read through this forum, but must be missing this as I saw it posted as a question, but did not see the answer, Thanks for the help.
