All installed etc etc. It all seems to work apart from the summery on the front page. I have added the line:

to the file: tpl_index_default.php
But nothing displays.
I tried adding it too: tpl_main_page.php (just to see if it worked)
which gives the desired effect of it showing on the index but then it displays on the news page, which I obviously don't want as I then have a summary on the same page as the actual story which is pointless.
So what I'm basically saying is that I can't get summery on the index page to work, its like it is just being ignored, any ideas?

I love this add-on it works well and I have no problems with it. However I would like a little help in adding a second copy of it to my website. I use the first one to contain certain news articles on the site I have designed. I need the second mod for completely unrelated articles that need to be kept separate. I am planning to alter a copy of your add-on to name files different in order to not over-right the first add-on. I was hoping you might be able to let me know what files I would need to edit. I intend to call it "scientific advisory board" it will be contributed by different individuals that make up the board. Thanks for any help you can provide.

i have another small problem. i have everything working in version 1.38a incl. the summary module, but I can't get the Dynamic Page Titles for News Pages to work. I do get changing titles for my news pages but the meta tag keywords and description stay the same.
Are there any new files I need to edit because this mod has been made for an older zen-cart version?

I have installed this module, but I am trying to find out where I can I find the separate page to view my articles, The only configuration I found in the adming area is below:

I don't see anything to turn a link on for people to go to that page? Can someone help me on resolving this problem, as I have the contibution installed, but can't see anything on my catalog for news & articles for others to view?

I'm having problems with the SQL patch install (INSTALL_V2.110.sql). When I try to upload it via Admin > Tools Install SQL patches I get the following error...

If there is a support thread for this mod, can you please tell them that they have forgotten the:
<div class="centerColumn"> and </div> that is supposed to surround all content of the site? That is your issue. (If you view the source of any other page in zen cart, you'll see that code.

Thanks for a great mod.
It works fine, however the main_page=rss_feed&feed=new_products does not show new products(it's stuck on a particular product and does not update), however the main_page=rss does show all the products including new products.
Can someone please let me know where I may be wrong.

Ok I took the time to get everything from archive.org for this mod as far as the install stuff and the other doc's. I grabbed all the screen shots (took a while but I found them) and documentation that was there. I skipped the change log, to do and donations as they really aren't necessary.
I put it all in a zip that you can get here

Done! The current zip now has 4 zip files in it
the main one 2 add-ons and the install instructions I put back together.
I would know also the informations about uninstall, in way to know if there'll be something wrong how to uninstall.

Simply undo the installation instructions in reverse order.
Just leave the SQL structure alone when uninstalling unless you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing.

IF you leave the SQL patch from the installation alone after you remove the physical files, nothing will be affected by it since the installation only adds in the data tables for the news posts. But if you insist... I'll be back in a few.Quote:

This all assumes you use the DEFAULT installation tables. If you changed your tables to something else... You have to modify the table names above to the appropriate ones.

I have 1.3.8a installed with bookshelf template and I have also installed quiet a few add on modules.
I was just wondering if anyone has installed this to a 1.3.8a cart and if they have what changes were made.
I am really still learning all of this and I dont want to install it and then find it doesn't work and I can not find the coding that needs to be changed.

I'm running it myself on 1.3.8a and see no major problems or changes that need to be done. Just fair warning that if you changed your database table names you need to manually update them in the SQL patch before you are able to use it.Quote:

Is there a way to add categories for the news articles? For instance, I want to have a Food Facts category, a Recipes category, and so forth. That said, when the client creates an article, it would be ideal if they could assign it to the proper category.
I searched this thread for category and categories, but didn't see anything that relates to my needs.

Hello, I've seen that Static RSS News Sidebox add-on is "compatible" with News & Articles, how I can link them?
Or is there a way to make News & Articles to take feeds from other sites and automatically post them as articles?
In the sidebox configuration it allows you to enter the RSS url. In that sense, it is actually compatible with any RSS feed, not just the News and Articles Manager.Quote:

I have the desire the put <?php in some of my news posts, allowing me to hook up with more possibilities.
The obstacle to this is that there is some sort of filter that is stripping out the php tags on new posts.
This is a necessary feature for comments obviously, but I'll be the only one posting news articles from the admin.
The FCK editor is still not working even after changing the code following one the thread. Is there any other ways to it. It does display FCK in the summary section but not in the content section. Totally not there.

I am using 1.3.8 and tried to install this news module twice now.
The first time, after uploading my files, I couldn't access my admin section anymore. I would enter any user/password and the page would just reload, as if nothing happened.
I had a back up of my files before the installation, so I erased all the admin files and retransfered my pack up on my server. I could then access my admin without any problem.
I then proceded to the News installation, which went fine. Everything was working perfect. I come back today, and I can't access my admin again ! Exept that now, when I enter a user/password that doesn't exist, I get the message that its wrong. But when I enter the right user/password, the page just reloads....
I did translate the module to french, and I just went back and checked all the files I modified for some mistakes, but couldn't see anything wrong there.
Could anyone help me here please ?

Hi everyone,
I have installed News & Article Management.
I have made the necessary mods, I have uploaded the files, I have installed the SQL patch, but:
1, it doen not appear in the Configuration Group, I have checked the database, is there.
2, I have installed Admin Profiles from Kuroi which works fine with the other modules but, when I set to give permissions to use the NAM the Admin does not keep the "choice"
Does anyone have any idea, can you help?
